    thanks, just bought this on the strength of your review; will try remember to post back here after a few months to say whether it's stood the test of time, as my chief reason for picking this against the m-audio keystation 32 is that that controller seems to have a lot of bad reviews saying its poor construction falls apart after a short period of usage. hpoefully the nektar will not suffer the same problem.

    • @OliverSteadman
      @OliverSteadman 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I was really surprised to find the pitchbend buttons don't allow you to "hold" the pitch bent up or bent down... they just do a momentary leap or dip and then the note comes straight back to centre again. This was not the style i'd expected... Did you find any way to hold pitch bent? Like happens in your other review of the M-Audio Keystation Mini 32 MK3, at 6:02.

      @@OliverSteadman Hey man is this a good keyboard for beginners? I'm completely clueless would appreciate your help!

    • @OliverSteadman
      @OliverSteadman 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      death scythe It depends what you want, maybe post your requirements here as a reply and I can advise. I recently did a comparison of quite a number of midi keyboards and my favourite was the M-audio key station 32 MKII. Definitely preferred it to this disappointing Nektar SE25. More recently, I realised Amazon have one of their own which is probably the best of the lot… If you’re looking for as much bang for buck as possible get the midiplus akm322. But again, it depends on what you want. None of these have full sized keys for example.

    • @OliverSteadman
      @OliverSteadman 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I returned this SE25 and replaced it with M-Audio Keystation Mini 32 MK3. That keyboard is working really nicely for me and I'm not seeing any of the hardware problems that it's reported to have.

    This is a question from your other video about the Yamaha ud-bt01. How were you able to connect it being that the midi had its own on and off button (neither of my Nektar midi controllers worked - only my Akai mpk which doesn't have a power button)

    • @Johnmike
      @Johnmike  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      That’s weird...that shouldn’t have anything to do with it...in that video I used my Keystation 49 which has a power switch on it...and it worked just fine
