Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni is on a visit to China. She met Chinese President Xi Jinping today. The two leaders discussed bilateral trade. Yesterday, Meloni had said she wants to 're-launch' Italy's ties with China. She signed a three-year 'action plan' with the Chinese premier. This plan would cover trade, investment, education and food security. In response, Xi Jinping hailed Italy-China's relationship. China and the European Union are in a tug-of-war over trade tariffs. Italy had earlier backed Brussels on China EV tariffs. China has threatened to impose tariffs on European products including pork, cognac, and high-end cars. Now, Meloni is trying to pull off a balancing act. Meloni's Beijing trip comes a year after Italy pulled out of China's Belt and Road Initiative. Palki Sharma tells you more.

She visited India first just after she was elected as PM of Italy. But she only visits India for one day but visited China for 5 days.
Heard from my Italian friend saying that after she landed in India and after seeing India infrastructures and the environment she has lost hope and knew there isn't anything India can be any good to Italy. So she decided and left the second day.

China goods are accelerating gdp growth in 3rd world and those regions are rapidly growing in wealth as they demand more money for their exports. Don’t forget that Italy had been in bed with the U.S. for awhile and paid a heavy price as a result of that , putting its economy in a state of doldrums.! Now with that lesson learned, Meloni has to rethink smart & fast by re establishing trade & other economic ties with China to revitalize Italy’s economy.! Both countries have much to gain with cooperation for mutual benefits. It’s a no brainer for both sides.!
