You can write Hamlet on a sheet of paper, that doesn't make you Shakespeare ! :) joke aside, what is really helpful for me is to write my own solos by ear, and take some Djangos phrases, or other phrases I learned from transcription, and try to play and write them in another context, another song, that way you really can take some guitarists ideas in another context, and you can clearly integrate new phrases in your guitar vocabulary. This is very great exercise!
Any really good guitarist can learn all the right notes but nobody will be as effortlessly smooth and fluid as Django
