The way I see it (as someone who is also an aroace hijabi) is that the nature of being queer itself is not a sin, but the action is. Like if a Muslim were to feel attracted to the same sex or felt like they identified more as the opposite it’s okay as long as they don’t enter a same-sex relationship or transition.
A tip for who this situation might apply to: writing is also a good way to explore your sexuality. Writing something, at least in my experience, submerges you in your own imagination. It’s almost as if you’re actually there. As long as you don’t publish or show whatever you write, it’s okay because it’s the same as your private thoughts which (I hope) everyone knows you can’t be held accountable for.

I'm a muslim algerian girl living in Canada who just come out recently as bisexual. I had a bad time with some people who reacted negatively about that (including in my family, which made things even harder for me), so I really wanted to sincerely thank you for the time, effort and respect you visibly putted into the realisation of this mini-documentary 🙏 It really helps me to feel valid. May God bless you ✨🙏

very interesting blog. Over the past years this topic has been highly talked about in germany because of news of a queer mosque opening. I have been wanting to see a more deeper discussion of this topic since a while, because I felt it was only really discussed on social media plattforms like tiktok. Where most of the people taking part in the conversation were young boys who were already biased against queer people in general or didn't know enough about their own religion. I myself have been thinking about my sexuality a lot and have figured that I was probably on the spectrum as well. So it's good to see and hear about the stories of other queer muslims and their views on this topic.

The hijabi ace has a rude awakening as many queer folks do not accept ace identities across the board. I used to ID as ace but gave up connecting with LGBTQA+ communities, as they were sex obsessed and mocked me saying "I wasn't really an ace, just
a queer woman who needed to open up more."
It was triggering but to be fair this was before modern language to describe queer folk was made available via the internet (I am 43) and still meet queers who mock aces.
The are treated as a running joke. Imagine what they will do to those they can not describe yet or have the words?
    Pause for those peoples...
And the people in the past who could not find the language or representation for themselves.
    (Allah knows best)
I will not speak for the whole queer community, but Aces and Aros aren't feeling the love at Pride events or socially. It needs time. (I ID as hetero now as sexuality is fluid and can change )
It looks as though she has found acceptance? Alhamdulillah. A very sweet and kind lady who deserves happiness.❤ It's a lot easier to be abstinent and / or celibate as a Christian, in my opinion.
As a muslima yes, you will have people question why you aren't marrying and procreating. Muslims are also sex obsessed, go figure. Something they have in common without with mainstream LGBTQA+ crowd.
If she was a lesbian (hypothetical) muslims would accept her being ace/aro- non sexual/non romantic as she isn't acting on any sexual urges with other women. Yet she says some say she a bad muslim for being aro ace, subhanallah!.
Conservative muslims say it's not a sin to be gay (the act of homosexual sex is) and it's seen as a test given to a person by Allah swt.
Anyway, interesting podcast.! May Allah Bless you folks, keep you protected & safe from harm, inshallah.

@@lalo-bh5kh NO IDEAL LMAOO, as a muslim, "queer muslim" is not a thing lmaoo, it's a S I N. You can be gay, but only as long as you don't commit any act, or keep it to yourself.
I think this video was made by non-muslim woke propagandists :) because no respectful and sane muslim would ever do that, it's stupid af..
