Beautiful channel. I am Korean and spent most of my childhood with my grandparents. They are in their 90's now. I feel such familiar vibes from these grandmas and mine.
I was raised by my grandmother as well. This lady in particular reminded me a bit of her in the sense that my grandma loved making food to give to our neighbors, family friends, etc..
I am Asian American, and the oldest of 4. I'm the 1 that spent time with my grandmother, as she cook for me daily. 1 year I lost a friend, each day by the big family room window I drew, my grandmother encourage me to draw on, she gave me magazines and newspapers, but most of all she taught me to cook, I was 5 & to this day cooking is both sad & happy feelings...this post is a treasure, thanks for doing this...
Nothing but love for you and your grandma. I, too have grown up being cared for by my grandparents as my mom was busy working. I have seen them cook, wash clothes, take care of the family. And I have felt a deep sense of sadness as I have seen them grow old and weak before my eyes. Time may pass, and the inevitable will happen, but I will have those wonderful memories with me forever.
Watching your films is like watching the most enchanting Miyazaki movies. I am not Japanese but I find traditional aspects of Japan so beautiful and heartwarming. Thank you for creating this channel!
I love these gramma stories. My late mother was Japanese, and listening to these brings back many memories, she would be in her late 80's today. Thank you for sharing these lovely ladies and their stories and recipies.
I wish I had the foresight to do something similar to this with my Great Grandmother. She was a central part of our family lives when I was a child and when she was younger worked as a professional cook in a number of places. There are meals she used to cook us that now can only exist in my memory, just like her. Thank you for such wonderful memories Nanny Tommy, we all miss you greatly.

Altough it filming women. But strangely, I am feeling more content as a boy and as a man (on identity). Its not like superiority as a men or something. But just simply I have feeling like that. Maybe because they have serene and glow charisma. Its tranquil. And they seem have good husband-wife life. Women are beautiful and amazing. Love you women.

歳とりたくない、ってずっと思ってた。
悪くなっていく体が怖かった。それに私は多分男性と付き合うのは難しい。きっとこれから一人でずっと生きていくんだと思うと未来なんて来なければいいって思ってた。
でも、ちょっとそんな愚痴を友達に零したら｢老後も遊ぼうよ！一緒にゴルフでもいってさ、なぁーんだつまんない！って言って美味しいものでも食べに行こう。だから死なないで｣
