I bought a few pieces from this and sent them back. The designs are super chic, but as with a lot of Uniqlo collections the sizing is tricky. Small too small, medium too big. Also, the v neck jumper James wears here felt quite itchy and not a nice quality like the waffle knit half zip that is from their regular collection. I also think some of the really baggier trousers that look super cool on the models only work if you're taller. If you're super slim like James with a 29'' waist, a lot of things will look better I think. I'm hoping for more from the Uniqlo U collection, which is always my bi-annual haul. I did love the black over the shoulder bag from C though.
Yes, Uniqlo is basic as that is what the Japanese people wanted during their financial depression. The parka he showed reminded me of an M-51 military fishtail parka which were very oversized themselves.
Uniqlo seem to be leaning heavily into blends recently. Understandable I suppose as it keeps costs down and they are an affordable brand, and maybe that’s the point of the C range specifically? But I do wish they’d focus a bit more on 100% cotton/100% wool pieces
They are also that Japanese brand that doesn't make their stuff in China. Like many other companies, they want Japanese money without creating Japanese jobs.
I got the hoodie and sweats. The sweats are the widest pants I’ve ever had. Still trying to see if it’s my style. But the hoodie is awesome. I’m from California so the synthetic blend is quite nice for the fall season here.
Had a lot of people asking me to review this collection too, but honestly this collection was so disappointing. Just soooo much unnecessary synthetic material, don't think anyone would mind paying 20-25% more for these pieces with a better fabrication, and being of course designed by Claire. Then again is her name as strong as JWA, or Jil Sander to justify a price increase? Possibly idk? I also just hate when companies advertise something as a wool blend and it's less than 50% wool, just feels so disingenuous.
I agree with you about the V-neck. I always want to add a (polo) shirt as a layer underneath. But with the example shown, I don't feel the need. Thanks for the video and see ya next week
Just got the wool coat in store for $59. A bit itchy, but shouldn't be an issue with a hoodie or collared shirt underneath. Where they cut corners: Only the arms are lined and no interior pockets.
The sweaters and the puffers were the highlight for me! I also got the hooded coat as well. Didn't pick up a single menswear piece, but ah well. You have me reconsidering with the vneck sweater!
Loved the video James! Just came from Uniqlo and my gf and I picked up some stuff. Got myself an Airism cotton ringer tee (like your 215 Merz B) and found myself loving the Broadcloth Oversized, Parachute Wide Pants, and the clogs from the women's line. Coming back next weekend to buy those next! Your words on the hoodie are making me consider this as well.
@@JamesLeung Absolutely! The largest clogs they have for women are an L which are I think about 8 US men's? I'm a 9 but I fit well enough in them anyways. The wide pleated trousers in the women's section are absolutely amazing really.
I got the wide joggers, parachute pants, oversized shirt. Wide joggers are super good because they keep the shape and the hem has a drawstring. The parachute pants too. The shirt fabric is thin and see through which kinda weird for a winter collection so this one is generally a miss.
I was so tempted to get the joggers but I already have a really similar pair from Weekday! The drawstring is a good addition though. Yeah a thin shirt is an odd one!
The hooded coat - I’ll be checking it out. Young Gunz, this a coat you will be wearing 30 years from now. Reminds me of an RL coat I picked up when I was 25 years old. I still have it. I’m 55 now! Stay Frosty!
@@JamesLeung The fit works well for you - I mean from a traditional US sizing standpoint. I've seen a lot of reviews on their website about people getting the wrong sizing because they don't know to go up or down 3 sizes.
Living in Canada (where temperatures can get very cold), I often need to wear the hood for head warmth (and, yes, this can be in addition to a woolen cap). Hoods are seldom shown pulled up: are they so seldom worn in the rest of the world that they are thought of as mostly decorative?
I always forget to show the hood - I really should! It doesn’t often get cold enough where I am to have it up, and I usually just wear a hat. But it rains a lot, so that’s mostly when I’d use the hood!
The pieces looked good. Kudos for adding a men's collection this season. Even the lookbook captured my attention. However, upon closer inspection, many of the pieces have an unnecessarily high percentage of synthetics, which is rather disappointing. Yes, there is a time and place for synthetics to add structure and durability but I can't help but think they over prioritized profits over design in this collection. For a designer collab collection, the amount of synthetics used is rather disappointing. I'd be hard pressed to pick up anything unless I see something in person that is irresistible, for some reason.
It's going to be 37 deg C this Tuesday in Taiwan even though it's supposed to be the Midautumn Moon Festival. If these heat advisories continue on beyond Michaelmas, then maybe in a few years various clothing brands will have to shift their fall collection to mid-October. I'm seeing more people in the office wearing looser jeans or pants rather than the tigher straight jeans you're wearing in this video. I wonder if there's a gradual reverse trend from tigher pants to looser pants and clothing.
I’m sorry but this is an underwhelming collection. I’m disappointed that you have said “a blend of fabrics including wool” for a couple of the pieces. This kind of implies that wool is a major component or at least a prominent component, when the fact is that it isn’t. It’s barely there and seems to be added as a way of saying that this isn’t just a synthetic product. The reality is that it is a cheap synthetic product and I for one could never purchase any of these pieces. I know that you want the sponsorships but I am somewhat disappointed that you chose to use creative language to mask the true nature of these products.
Bro you partnered with Uniqlo & picked the most boring pieces out of the entire collection. All these likes and comments are clouding your judgment & I’m not sure I can even trust your advice anymore.

More important than anything...I see that autumn decoration, looks nice James.
Everyone said the hooded coat was basic and boring, but imo that's probably my favorite piece.
I always figured Uniqlo selling point is being basic. nothing super loud. Usually a decent quality
Yes, Uniqlo is basic as that is what the Japanese people wanted during their financial depression. The parka he showed reminded me of an M-51 military fishtail parka which were very oversized themselves.
Another banger, James. The v neck, hoodie and wool blend coat looked great. I don't usually see brown hoodies, but like that one.
Thank you bro 🙏🙌
Another great video James! No, I’m not picking up anything from the collection! Have a good day! ✌️
Thanks mate! Have a good one 🙏

Yeah I know what you mean!
Yep, absolutely. This collection was designed with profits as the priority and not sustainability or good design. I don't want acrylic in my sweaters!
They are also that Japanese brand that doesn't make their stuff in China. Like many other companies, they want Japanese money without creating Japanese jobs.

Yeah I had a feeling they’d be too big for me as well! Glad you like the hoodie man!
Yooo, what grey shirt are you wearing throughout the video? Looks super nice.
Glad to see you continue to get sponsored by Uniqlo. Such a great channel and look forward to your videos each Sunday.
Thanks so much man! 🙏

100% agreed with everything you said
Their starting story is wonderful, but it all went downhill when the son took over.
The hooded coat looks so tempting!
It’s going to be so good for the cold/rain!

Yeah lack of interior pockets sucks! I wore the coat a lot over the past 2 days and really happy with it. Got a lot of compliments too!
I picked up the hooded coat. It is huge!
I hope you cover the Uniqlo U thats coming on the 26th.
The lambswool jacket looks so good and it's 100% wool too.
The sweaters and the puffers were the highlight for me! I also got the hooded coat as well. Didn't pick up a single menswear piece, but ah well. You have me reconsidering with the vneck sweater!
Great pickups! Yeah I didn’t think I’d like the v neck as much as I did!
Whats the blue crewneck you are wearing throughout the video?
The wool coat is really the highlight. After trying it out in store i think its uniqlos best wool blend. Doesnt seem like it will pill a lot either.
I’ve got to agree! It’s such a nice texture. I’ve had wool coats in the past and they’ve not felt the best but this one is lovely.
The jeans look great, and I love the waistband.
Yes they are lush!

Uniqlo coming through yet again. The wool blend. coat looks mint on ya, want one myself 😮💨
It’s so nice! Looking forward to the cold weather so I can wear it everyday haha
Did this year’s U FW interest you? Or was it a miss?

Sounds great! A timeless design
Another good video mate 👍
Thanks so much man 🙌
I love how relax he look in his videos I wish I was like this
Haha thank you man 🙌
The hood on the hoodie is so nicely structured at 3:50. Makes it look more premium...and I cant stand a flimsy hood.
Yep that’s how I judge a hoodie as well!
what brand and model shoes are you wearing. Leave a link please thanks !
Doc Martens Adrian Loafers!
Glad you showed back up on my algorithm. What sweatshirt are you wearing throughout the video?
Thanks!! It’s from Destructive 🙏
I'm sure that the oversized draping style does real well, but I think it'll never be mine. Nor what I really look for at Uniqlo.
Fair enough 🙌
love your Uniqlo videos 🥹
Thanks so much, I enjoy doing them!
@@JamesLeung you’re welcome!
I really like all of these pieces
Lovely aren’t they!
Would you recommend the wool or hooded coat more? Great vid.
For me, the wool coat is the winner!
@@JamesLeung Nice thank you. I think I might still go hooded since my wardrobe and area is much less formal haha, subbed.
These sizes are interesting. XS jacket for someone 5’10
Yeah I feel like I still get that relaxed look but wanted to fit a little closer to the body
@@JamesLeung The fit works well for you - I mean from a traditional US sizing standpoint. I've seen a lot of reviews on their website about people getting the wrong sizing because they don't know to go up or down 3 sizes.
I think you need a size small! apart from the last hooded coat.
They all felt comfortable and roomy!
I was waithing for your review of UNIQLO C 2024aw collection.
from japan😉
Thank you! 🙏
Any plans on looking at Uniqlo: U
Definitely!

Haha nice! What did you get?
another banger
Thank you! 🙏
Did you size down once on the oversized hoodie for a regular fit?
I’d say my normal size is small, so yep sized done to x-small
Hey James, is the hooded coat water resistant/proof at all? They don't claim anything on the website.
No I don’t think so - which is unfortunate!
@@JamesLeung Johnny Thai's video showed that it is water resistant.

I am a sucker for uniqlo but all these pieces sucked 😂 baring the jackets.
They are being sucked last ten years...miss old uniqlo.... especially made in vietnam..😢
Why do they suck
Also terrible fabrications- too many synthetic blends.

The hooded coat is dope unfortunmatly as a 5'8 midget they are way to long in a Size S
I think you could pull it off man!
Thinking about the wool jacket, the rest is not my style. They looked great on you though.

5ft 10 👍

5’10” 140??

Yeah I caught on that as well. He used a softer language wheb describing the materials to lessen the blow of the lack of quality in the jackets
Great video, but the phrase „blend of fabrics including wool“ just screams hiding the other materials which aren‘t as great 😂
I know what you mean. Although I do think the addition of wool makes a big difference to the way it feels so I thought it was worth mentioning!
Love the videos but this was posted after almost all the pieces are sold out😭
Ah no really? They were all in stock when I checked this morning!
What are brands doing when an XS fits a guy who’s 5’10…?
😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
Only the jeans looks good tbh
No mention of how little natural materials are used in the collection. Polyester everything. Suspect review
are the jeans high waist?
No I’d say they are mid rise! The Uniqlo site has exact measurements though 👍
