The exclusivity of the Blue Flame is gonna piss off a LOT of potential buyers; I expect that blue color to come to the Premium trim in a year or two because of backlash.

I work at the #2 Toyota in the country, and we have only received 8 this year and 3 on the way. No mark ups, except for $1k useful dealer add ons. They are a blast to drive. We’ve had a few used ones traded in. I’m waiting for my 24’ GRC premium in heavy metal or ice cap. I’ve been in line since May ‘22. My opinion is that it should only be made with AT if they consider mass producing it. As a specialty car, it does it justice to be MT AWD. Great video!

I have a 2023 Core with all 3 packages allocated to me at MSRP. I had passed on a Circuit Edition allocation in July because I couldn't really justify the extra $5k for cosmetics (especially since they had announced they were doing another 1600 CEs for 2024 MY). Had it been a 1 year only run I would have made it work. Blue Flame looks amazing but not for that price increase.

Picked up my Core 2/23, called a LOT of dealers to get a reasonable price (MSRP+$1600 ad ons, $40.5K). I thought that supply/demand would stop dealer markups by now, evidently not. Kirk, I think you are right that people are just going to be okay with what arrives at their dealer at a price they can live with. Nothing to do with the GR but I own a '91 NSX. I got my Circuit Edition back in May after over a year of waiting. The dealership experience was downright abysmal.
My best advice for anyone looking to get one is to cold call as many dealers as possible and track allocations on the Toyota web site. The dealer I ultimately bought from I wasn't even on the waiting list for.
There aren't any rules or process for any of this, which is infuriating. It's pretty much a free for all. Waitlists are often not honored, and cars can be sold out from under you even if you are promised an allocation.
Good luck to those that want the car. Don't give up, it's worth it in the end. And it is certainly possible to get one with some work on your part contacting dealers.

I waited 9 months and paid a 10% markup for a red circuit which makes it a $50k car. We learned after the fact that supersonic red is the rarest color on circuit editions and they’re discontinuing it after year one meaning there will only ever be between 300 and 400 red circuit editions in America. As somebody who plans on keeping it long term, I feel that was a fair deal for me. It’s a high mileage daily but it’s only one of 2 red circuits that I know of in central California so I’m happy to pay a reasonable price for the exact car I want that also happens to be quite rare.

Here are the reasons I'd consider the 8-speed. And I've owed over a dozen manual sports cars in my life. The following is only if it turns out to be as good as something like what you get in the Camaro/Corvette, the ZF in BMW products, ETC. If you have to have 1 car to do it all including commute in CA traffic it makes sense. Especially for me with a disk issue where operating a clutch in stop and go could get annoying. I'm a father of 2 young kids, easier if you need to hand a kid something. Look at cars like the Golf R, what if they offered more torque with the auto (which this car could use), legit launch control, and better gas mileage from extra taller overdrives? And here's the one that will probably piss people off but consider a guy like time attach driver Jackie Ding's video introducing his new M2. He states it very well that if you are legit racing, the auto offers less chance for error, faster shifts, and more driver concetration. I will never argue with anyone that says manual is more fun and engaging. But those would be the reasons in my mind.

To me the GRC isn’t a very good choice for an only car if you have kids. Something like the Kona N would offer more room and an automatic. And I don’t view the GRC as a race car. Of course you can have fun on a track but where it was made for are the back country roads and in the mountains.

If I want a car, have the money, put a down payment on one…then I should be able to get it. Not this stupid numbers game because it’s not a high volume dealer out in the midwest vs somewhere in CA, TX or FL. Doesn’t change how much a person wants a car just by where they live.

My experience was putting my name down, dealer called with a fully loaded core, and I purchased it. Extremely easy process, and this was back in December

First of all toyota should offer a tune as a option like honda did for the type r ( handata tune ) Toyota should to increase the torque for the toyota corolla gr circuit edition , rear seat delete , carbon fiber rear hatch , and a full carbon fiber body kit its almost 2024 , so don't make the same mistake toyota why limited the morizo edition to 200 units never made any sense to me ?; (
