Once you hit Nyquist (The highest frequency you can get with your sample rate without the recording of the sound becoming inaccurate), if you keep pushing higher, you actually lower the frequency of your noise I believe. That's due to the oscillations happening so quickly the software misses oscillations when sampling, as a result it records less in the same amount of time, lowering the frequency. It's why Fruity Waveshaper has an oversampling option. The distortion can easily create frequencies above nyquist, causing some weird lower frequencies to appear sometimes that shouldn't. Sometimes doing this on purpose is cool, but if you wanna keep your sound 'clean' you use oversampling to multiply the sample rate for that sound. Also, I'm glad you talked about that synth. I couldn't imagine out how you'd do such a 'mechanical' but 'smooth' sound... Now if only I had Serum. Welp, I should be able to do something similar with Sytrus.
@@doublechindoge7 I'll walk you through getting FL and from that you'll learn how to get almost anything on your own. Some software is a pain in the ass to find however, and just because you find it doesn't mean it'll work. FL studio is very easy to get though.
My favorites are these 3 and he made a breakdown of those 3 lol that's epic.... My fav is Hysteria because of how unique it is with 3 different drops and awesome intro that surprised me.... After that Recall and Wallmonger both in the second place.... Overall amazing stuff from VR as always

The weird artifacts you get on The Recall might be serums attempt to churn out its take on the Heterodyne Principle, where the sum of two pitches create a sum signal and difference signal and we're hearing the low one!
for recall i think sine wave starts to beam in so high frequency so that you can't really have the space between waves to go up and down smooth like the sine shape is, so the higher and down peaks are forming the square shape so it sounds sorta squared, dunno about sound design at all tho lol
Not aliasing issue , that phasing happening when you change the pitch of the 2nd osc & it hits the sweet spot of any or close to any multiple of the 1st fixed(pitch not) osc. That creates different flavors of harmonics
