- Norfolk Southern GE Dash 9-40CW units #9478 & #9312 drag coal northbound out of West Brownsville, Pennsylvania. Lots of Conrail hoppers and interesting graffiti on this train. Probably came out of Blacksville, Bailey/Enlow or Federal #2, probably headed for Shire Oaks.
Great catch. You know you're near the 'Burgh when you see coal trains and an Orthodox church on every street corner.
There are 60 loaded coal hoppers on my N scale train layout. They never get unloaded, although do manage to be hauled some miles fairly often. Very much like this train in the video.
A street running train in West Brownsville? That was pretty darn odd. Are you kidding me?
the only presence of industry left in Brownsville is the railroad. it's a ghost town
It is wierd how they run through the street like that
It's a bit unusual but there is street running trackage elsewhere in the nation, this is by no means unique. This was and remains a pretty heavy coal route along a river in a valley, so when there isn't room, you just have to use what room there is however you can.
i amuse the the train has the right of way
