So great you are in Melbourne! Enjoy! Not surprised you feel at home considering that many Australians have relatives which immigrated from England. New Zealand is the same.
It is so wonderful to see you in a different environment from the last areas you have been traveling. We too have put off Australia and New Zealand because we wanted to visit some other lower cost locations so you can be sure we will be watching your upcoming travel videos. We have been contemplating a Pacific Rim trip and will head out to South America soon....on our upswing, we will hit the Australia/Asia side of the world....thanks for helping us out and have a great time!
Great to have you in Melbourne, if your still in Melbourne on Monday May 1, happy to shout you dinner …… enjoy your videos and enjoy watching your journey as a 50something guy who did lots of Europe travel in my 20s and aspire to possibly being a travel TH-camr
Glad to see you enjoying the totally stable Melbourne weather. I agree that Melbourne is very "homely". A very European city I always say. I hope you enjoyed your stay...I wouldn't live anywhere else ( although I do miss British pubs occasionally).
I hope you get out to the country of Victoria, Halls Gap, Bright, Healesville, the Dandenongs are just some beautiful places to visit, I grew up in Melb, and have lived on the Sunshine Coast for 30 years, now in Alice Springs, so much to see in Australia. Originally born in Worthing UK, and I love your Videos cheers Deb
Hi guys, welcome to melbourne. Do try and get to an afl football game, state library, 333 Collins St, and the arcades. If you feel like spending the money our zoo is fab.
So Melbourne Australia was not in the plan eh? 🤣 Well, so glad you made it there. The video was excellent and much appreciated. 💚 We are reminded that, "Life is what happens to us [you] while we are [you're busy] making other plans." This piece of wisdom can be credited to Allen Saunders in Reader's Digest 1957 (and of course, made famous with John Lennon's song, where he used the quote, [altering just a few words].
Love Melbourne! If you’re still there, make a trip to one of my favorite restaurants I’ve found there called Coda ( haven’t been for 4 yrs). Cocktails were perfect and I dream of the crispy shrimp appetizer. Cozy atmosphere.
We’ve visited Melbourne quite a few times now- and loved finding the local comedy nights. Trams are fun. The Market is great. The Immigration Museum was fascinating. We used an apartment hotel with a fabulous kitchen and walking distance to everything. The Arcades are fun but expensive.
I generally like Melbourne, but in this video, the laneways looked really grim. The weather and probably day/hour had a say, but hope the next video will show the more beautiful areas of the city. Anyway, enjoy the time in Au.
Hi guys. If you are coming to South Australia, I would love to show you around. My husband and I are in preparation to commence slow travel in a few years and love your channel. We live in Adelaide and have an air bnb on the Yorke Peninsula. 👣
I really like your strolls around the cities and towns you visit, but they feel incomplete without seeing Sarah at the end. I hope, for the next ones, you reunite with her after taking your walk!
Glad you both made it to Australia, even if unintentionally. Hope you get to visit another state or two whilst you’re here. We’re off to the UK in July to visit our daughter who’s living there at the moment. Sometimes there’s some comfort in familiarity 😊. Enjoy the rest of your time here!
flipping heck. have just been around parts of malaysia - somewhat influenced by your vids - and now i see you’re in my home town. i trust you will enjoy your time here.
Hi Neil, France is only 21 miles from the UK with a regular small boat service, I understand. Nothing is foreign, it's just different! Best wishes from Bangkok.
I live in Melboune and the place looked very quiet and too be honest dirty. I know you like to surprise your subscribers, however, it maybe good to reach out on community if you are going to a city. Many of the locals that live there know all the hidden gems around their city. There are much better places and restaurants and vibe out of the CBD in Melbourne and would be a shame if you have missed them
I am looking forward to the video of free ideas. Question. Do you prefer the biggest more famous cities or the smaller cities as you explore a new country?
I’ve never been to Melbourne but I also thought Sydney reminded me of the UK. I think for me, it was because the food was similar. Does it feel strange to be walking down the street with the camera?
Do we benefit from completing a W8-BEN form as we aren’t US nationals? I’m unsure whether completing this form lowers costs for index fund holders containing US stocks. Do you know?

Great walking tour. Looks like a cool part of the city. I love the architecture and the sidewalks.
So great you are in Melbourne! Enjoy! Not surprised you feel at home considering that many Australians have relatives which immigrated from England. New Zealand is the same.
Hey Melbourne! Amazing. Re weather - Think Four Seasons in One Day - Crowded House. 👍
Thank you for the walking tour of the lanes. Really cool and vibrant. Maybe you feel at home there because UK culture is literally in their DNA.

We always love your travel videos. Thanks for a glimpse into Melbourne … it is now on our list of places to check out in our travels!

We are happy too see our neck of the woods in your vlog, you did it justice, thank you 😊
In Melbourne now so rewatched this video. thanks so much! Wish the horseracing season was now but at least we can go to the Melbourne Open!
You could have given us a closer look at the firemen… a bit of eye candy 😂

Do get to a footy match - Aussie Rules if you can. Highly recommend 😊

Great video as always guys, loved seeing AC/DC Lane. Hope you’re enjoying Oz…it’s not as sunny as we thought 😂
It's late Autumn in one of the colder parts of the country.
@@danielodonoghue3529 ah that’s why then.

Me too. In Malaysia now, at least until tomorrow.
I did the back streets and alleys of Melbourne- really enjoyed it!
That brought back some memories for me from my travels there in 2008 - especially Centre Place
Lots of shops shut, looks like a Sunday.
Those alleys full of grafitty reminded me of some I visited in Saint Petersburg.
Hi Neil, France is only 21 miles from the UK with a regular small boat service, I understand.

Best wishes from Bangkok.
Lovely. Would love to go to Melbourne one day
Always great to see my home city. Let us know if you are coming to Canberra would be great to catch up :)
I can't help but wonder if the better weather might outweigh the increase in expenses between the 🇬🇧 and 🇦🇺.
Australians earn much higher salaries then the Brits so living here is still easier than the UK. Travelling...not so much.
Melbourne has 4 Seasons every day . Cold , Hot , Wet and dry .
Hi Neil and Sarah. Perhaps more serendipity than gone wrong?
Does it feel at all like being at home, especially given the weather? 🙂
Hey guys - fly to Perth beautiful city awesome beaches and wine / food plus Freemantle markets. Weather is great now, then you can fly up to Asia ;)
This is terrific! I would love to know some of your costs for this portion of your journey. It is a potential destination on our list for next year!
You're in Australia?! Yay.
If you're planning in coming g to Ballarat, we've a free bed and breakfast for you. Just message me. Cheers
