Hey man, finally someone that likes the imperfections on a handmade boot as well. Matter fact thats why I want one because of the human factor you’re able to see on the construction. Keep up the great work 👍🏻
I enjoy boot reviews and looking forward to seeing many more from you. I'm a Grant Stone, Truman and Trickers fan myself. Keep at it and best wishes for the growth of your channel! Having said that, I must be honest and say that the significant unevenness of the welt stitching on this particular pair that I could see, would be unacceptable for me. Especially when I'm paying substantial money for a pair of these. Love the White's silhouette but their QC and attention to detail is undeniably inconsistent bordering on really bad.
Thanks for the compliments! I totally understand how you feel about the QC, the brand is definitely not for everyone. Thanks for sharing your opinion on it.
I'm looking for a hiking boot, but have a wide foot (4E to 6E). Since these boots are expensive (but they are American made and are worth it in my opinion) so I bought a Bannock to get an accurate measurement of my feet. And one of the boots that I'm interested in is the White's Hiker boot, albeit they list 2E as their widest.
@@YouShoe-1985 Thanks, so far JK Boots is the only company that offers boots in 3E and 5E widths, but none in a true hiking boot, although their O.T. 6" boot looks nice.
I think Whites are worth the price. I own 3 pairs and just ordered my 4th pair. I ordered a MP Sherman Cap Toe in the Kudu CF Stead leather. Never had a problem with QC. And, the fit has been spot on. I own 2 pairs of Thursday boots as well. They are great for a 200 dollar boot. But, they don't compare to the Whites. And, I agree paying over 500-600 bucks for a pair of boots don't make sense, but, I want something to last and I can not get Red Wings or some other brands cause I have E and EE width. Thanks for the good review.
I love my pairs, nat cxl and brown cxl, both 7E. The most comfortable compared to my RW iron rangers 7.5D. Don’t think the breakin period was as long as the IRs, but could definitely run on the MPs like if they were sneakers. Sadly the only downside was the glue for the soles, they peeled off. Replaced them with Vibram 100s with 2 layer mid soles though and they’re as bad ass as they are comfortable.
The insole in mine squeak so bad they are almost unwearable. Super comfortable, but you can hear me coming from about 200 yards. Started after about 2 months of wear. They’re still gonna charge me over $200 for a resole. So now my new boots are around $1000 total. Great! Ohh, both squeak.
Hey mate, quite curious how you managed to get a 13 Brannock in an 11.5 D. I'm a 12 Brannock and wearing an 11.5 D in their 55 last. When you mean snug what dimension are you referring to, length or width. In width I can agree that the snug fit should be achieved, but in length I'm wondering if you still have a thumb width in front of your boot and while walking and bending the boot your toes aren't touching the front of the boot...?! Nice review and thanks for the details.
Yeah good question. I have probably half of what I normally have in front of my toe and it’s works fine. To be honest my perfect size in this last would have been like a 11.75 or almost 12. The 11.5 works but could be better

@@Stoney_AKA_James I’d be worried it would be two tight. If I come across other makers that go that wide I will let you know.

Do you know if the MP sherman boots toe cap is 2 pieces of leather or just decorative threading?
@@katman11 I believe it’s not a true captoe so it’s just decorative

@@vonbee not cool. I haven’t had that problem but know people who’ve had the squeak. They need to take care of that issue

Seidel Doubleshot is NOT version of Horween CXL same as Shinki Veg Tan Horsebutt isn’t a version of Maryam Veg Tan Horsebutt.
Aww video wouldve been perfect but since not and reason is your lighting was not good so it takes away from watching rather seeing clear of the boots
