Heck yeah dawg, I just got my White's 9338 swing last bad boys and I'm in love. I've always had fourth toe crunch as an issue, and have to size up .5-1.0 in everything to fit my toes (wide doesn't really solve anything because my foot isn't wide or particularly thick, just my chunky toe spread and no taper). I Brannock 12D and wear a 12D in Barrie/Trubalance and a 12 in most Vibergs. It's fine, but they all feel big. I got a 11.5D in the White's 9338 and it's a great fit. Normal ankle/heel, low vamp, narrow midfoot, and the widest friggin' toebox in the history of time and space. My other favorite last is the Alden 379x, which I wear in a 12D. It has a narrow heel, normal vamp/instep, narrow midfoot, and a good round toebox that I also find pretty accomodating. Not as perfect as the 9338, but pretty great itself.
But be warned: these are clown shoes. They look better in photos/video than in person. In person, they're startling. Baker's/White's actively encourages you not to order these because they get returned so much. But I love it. If you have toe crunch issues and an otherwise normal fit, 9338 (or Alden 379x or Viberg 2040/45/55) could be your miracle shoe.
Man watching these makes me feel like I just got new boots lol. 3 week lead time for pair of whites is amazing. I might need to think about scooping up a pair. I’ve always liked the MP Sherman.
@@toneohm Maybe it's a combination of buying them during a big sale and it was through Baker's which is known to double check the QC before shipping them out. But tbh I don't think much of it since I already have a decent rotation of boots. Just want to try the arch support which I've heard gives you better posture
I wonder why lead times for Baker's are so long. I'm still waiting on a pair of semi-dress I ordered from them on black Friday. I think in the future, I'll only order through them if they have an exclusive leather or something like that. I love the half sole on these, too. Nicks is now discontinuing their half sole 'cause of sizing issues on anything too big, I guess. It's good to see that White's doesn't have a problem with it.
@@Sub-Machinist Seems odd that your boots would take so long. Did you get one of the fancy exotic leathers or something? Yeah love the half sole. Sucks to see Nicks drop them.
@aChannelAboutBoots Nothing fancy, just brown dress leather with a lowered block heel. I emailed Baker's 2 weeks ago, and they said White's might take a while to respond to them because of the sale going on at the time. I'll have to follow up with them.
Yeah same with me. I got my 9338 MTO from Baker's. They were very helpful, but it took 6+ months, whereas White's is apparently churning out their own MTOs in a few weeks.
Nice!! Really like your taste. The Semi dress has grown on me. Swing last is interesting.. I dig burgundy And really want something with a half V bar.. I like Double Shot. It's not as shiny as CXL but it's nice.. Very impressed to hear the lead times. I just did my first MTO Bountys, can't wait!
@@aChannelAboutBoots hey,, yes I bought the Bounty's with the Fathers Day sale.., I was gonna go all out and get natural Maryam.. but I bailed and did natural CXL instead. i did some subtle two toning with a lineman patch and didn't want to spend all that on the Maryam and not use it all. I also used the Father's Day sale as intended hah,, bought my dad some Springdale's.. he's not really into boots like me, so I figured it would be a good entry boot.. something a little lighter and shoe-like for him. I was going hard on boots lately hah, just did a video on horsehide Mr. Lou's.. and will have another up of the same boots you got, the Division Road MP Stone Rambler.. first time getting the MP in an E width. fits nicely. Btw, have you ever noticed an 'off' smell that you get with lined boots. I got lined Oak Street Jump boots in Badalassi that are lined and have a plastic-like shower curtain smell.. and i think its the lining.. bc the Stone Ramblers have that smell too.. is that just a lined boot thing?? like how they finish the calf skin or the adhesive or something...? i don't like it.. lol it takes away from the 'good leather smell' you get otherwise. I selected for the Bounty's to be lined so hopefully they don't smell like that too.. Baker's couldn't seem to specify the tannery that the leather lining is from unfortunately..
Conspiracy theory: The Thurman55 Last is just a 38 Swing Last. 😂😂 EDIT: had to finish rewatching this. Forgot that you mentioned this Last feeing way flatter than the 55. That’s not the same as the Thurman55, which has plenty of arch. Interesting.
@@aChannelAboutBoots ya I debunked myself on this one haha. The Thurman55 is interesting. Definitely has all the arch of the 55, but with the Munson toe. The ThurmanNW is basically just the standard Munson Last. It’s good if that’s what you want.
@@HomeDrummer55 Yup, you have to call them. A lot of the options that you can do aren’t really listed anywhere, too. So you have to ask a lot of if you can do something and be prepared to hear no a lot. Really isn’t an efficient way of doing things.
Whoa finally a video on the 38 Swing Last!!!
@@EDHBlvd yeah was surprising that there isn’t much out there about this last outside of a few posts on reddit
Thank you so much for this video! It's hard finding info on this last

Arch support: If 55 is a high arch and Trubalance is a low/no arch, then I would call the 9338 a medium arch.

Is this closer to the MP last in terms of arch support? Just kinda flat?
I for sure prefer flat Munson-like lasts.

Whites spaces it apart too much IMO. Nicks, Wesco, and even Franks do a better job IMO. Makes boots not look so wide.
