I am not worried about being humane with rodents and snakes. I had a squirrel family on my roof. I felt bad about killing them so I tried several humane ways of getting rid of them. Eventually my roofer told me they had eaten through the shingles and there was a quarter inch of wood left before they would be sharing my home. Needless to say, I fixed the roof and the squirrels. I’m not ever again going to worry about pests. They attack me, they are toast.
If there's snakes in your house, it's not just because it's warm; it's also because there's a steady food source in your house, like rodents or insects.
Caroline Seitz brings up a good point in this video about keeping snakes out of your home. If there are snakes that keep entering your home it is likely that they not only found an entry point, but they may also have a food source of mice or rats.
Many years ago, a 2yo king cobra enter out house. Its very long, apparently it slither across our backdoor straight into my parent room. My dad is doing his work at nearer table which he didn't notice the big snake just slither 2 feet away behind him. My mom found the snake when she's entering the room (the snake is inside the toilet and my mom saw the tail). Long story short, we call safety service and the snake head end up getting chopped. And last night around 1.30am, I'm about to go toilet after finish gaming. saw a big black 15cm diameter pipe-looking like. Thw snake was hidden behind the chair and only part of his body seen. I was 10 feet away before to my realization, we dont have that back looking pipe at there before. I walk around and see this spitting cobra head standing and freeze.. Probably seeing me. Was a bit panic, i closed the door where my sibling sleep and call my parent. But they barely see the snake because they just woke and blurry, but i see that snake slowly entering the hole back. My dad pulled the rag and said the snake cant enter. Idk if he's trying to say I'm imagining thing. But the snake is big and that black scalea and how it stand is giving me trauma to snake, plus knowing that's a venomous snake.
There was a snake in my house few minutes back and I had no option to call snake catchers as there isn't one in my area and by the time they come snake would have hided somewhere. I followed the same distance method and threw a big cloth on snake and when snake was inside the cloth, with the help of a long stick in pushed the cloth in a big bucket and sealed it. Then took the bucket far away from neighborhood and released him. 🐍😀

It was the morning of April 13th, 2017; I had been up until 3 am binge watching TH-cam videos and I felt a twinge of my back muscles from a lack of sleep. I took a deep breath and slowly let it out. About a minute later, another muscle contraction in my back, . . . or was it? I lay very still trying to decipher what else it could be. I heard the hiss of the memory foam mattress as it struggled to reshape itself beneath me. Wait a minute, does it do that? I've never been this quiet to hear air coming out of the memory foam before. Or am I laying on . . . . . . . . . . . . a snake? The thought stopped me cold in my tracks. Well, now I'd have to find out. I'd better move fast. Without another thought, I quickly got up and jumped back from the front of the bed. Without my glasses I could see a black thing that looked like it could be a snake. Just then, it moved, and my heart started racing. I thought, if I don't grab it now it could get ugly. I took a big breathe and lunged at the snakes head with my right (non-dominant) hand. I was surprised when the snake was squirmy but not confrontive. I pinched it's neck and it's body hung like a leather belt. I was in my underwear so I looked around for my pants. When I turned on the bathroom light, the snake became more animated trying to squirm out of my grip. I immediately turned off the light and it got a bit more calm. Putting on my jeans was an ordeal with my one hand occupied, but I finally managed to get it on. I took the snake outside to meet his demise. I didn't sleep downstairs for two more weeks. When I did finally decide this was a one time encounter, I couldn't help but check under the covers before going to bed for the next month.

I carried my sister and get out of the room. That night since my mom is also scared she woke up our neighbors to help us. I don't know what did they do to the snake because I'm hiding in my parents room with my sister. Then my mom starts scolding me because my room is a mess and it smells like oil. Yes my room smells like oil because of the oil paint that I use for my cosplay and all of my materials for making my cosplays are all around my room. I slept with my mom and sister in their room but I can't actually sleep until 3 am. I kept doing research about snakes, but when I do see a snake's picture I say to my self why did I let something this big get in my room? How long is it in my room? What if I didn't move the bag will I be able to know that it in my room? What if it bites me while I was sleeping? I think I won't be making cosplays ever again

good thing i live in 600 sq feet in IT housing project in California and live paycheck to paycheck with life being so busy i wouldn’t care a snake biting and killing me off. Thanks software engineering.
Reading these comments about seeing a snake in the video climbing in the laundry basket. I live in Alabama , copperheads are real common here , but anyways. Yesterday I was digging through the laundry pile about to do a load. I seen a snake , my son informed me my hand had gotten inches away from a copperhead... it was quickly killed with a shovel , no we do not kill non venomous snakes around here.
I am in AL, also, surrounded by thousands of acres of pine woods and old hardwood forest. Every summer we have multiple canebrake rattlesnakes in the yard, carport, and along the walkways. Also known as velvet tails and timber rattlesnakes, the scientific name is Crotalus Horridus. They are usually about 5 feet long with bodies as big as my lower leg. Some are bigger. They are deadly monsters. About two hours before dark, I usually put the dog in the kennel and take the cat outside for her recreation time. Yesterday, the dog barked in his pen and I went to tell him to be patient. He indicated there was something in his igloo. I shined the flashlight and saw a 4-footer coiled inside his house. My pet was trapped in the kennel with it. I grabbed the cat and put her in the house (the dog would kill her), and let my pup out of the pen. Then used a heavy steel rake with short prongs to pin the deadly snake, and a sharp hoe to finish it. It is risky business and terrifying. There will be more any day now. It is their mating season and they follow the pheromone trails. The black snakes are friends, since they help to keep the rattlers away. A large black snake lives in our barn. It is Not a pet, but gets a free pass because it is non-venomous. 🧑🌾
a garden just slithered into my house in-between a tiny little crack between my door and doorway, and when i went around the other back door so i could try to catch it... it escaped!
if I see a snake in my house I will play the flute to make them dance and then while it's hypnothized in dancing I will cut it into halves using a big meat knife I have in the kitchen. Oh shoot I don't have a flute!
James Paul eh, I'm not so sure. It depends on the cat. High class breed cat usually doesn't have much of their hunting instinct so it might not scare the mice as much as you thought it would. Their hunting instinct has been dulled over time because of their lifestyle. Not many of them ever stepped outside of their owner house (except if they're taken to the vet etc) and food are already provided for them, so they don't need to go hunt for themselves, though some cats do go out hunting as a mere entertainment. Many of my friend has Persia, Himalayan, or Rag Doll here and I tested them. When I caught a mouse with the mouse trap, I would set them free near or in front of the cat to see how they would react. The cat doesn't even care. Some of my friends witnessed how there are mouse who just walked right in front of their cat and their cat ignored them. Well, Himalayan, Persia, and Rag Doll are the cuddling type though. So maybe they really are aren't made for hunting. Maybe it would be different if the active breed, like the Bengal cat, is tested to see how would they react. Domestic cat (the one that you saw on the street) on the other hand, have their hunting instinct intact. If you're keeping one of them, even if they're already introduced to the luxury life (bountiful food and warm bed), they would still like to go outside sometimes and go hunt. Their presence will also scare the mouse. My personal experience, I have a 3 legged domestic cat and she is awesome. No mouse will ever get to pass her unnoticed and she sometimes brought back a (dead) snake too. When she was relocated from my home for a while (because of...well, lots of reason), the mice quickly showed up and caused trouble. I saw 3 of them jumping near the door as soon as my cat was relocated. When she came back, these mice problems was quickly solved. I also did a test for the domestic cats and it turns out almost all of them reacted to the mouse I released near them. They're already interested in the mouse even before I released them. They would be very excited when I showed them the mouse. Those who don't show this kind of behaviour is only 1/5 of those domestic cats who are born and raised inside the house (they've never went out to hunt before). But it's only 1/5 mind you. So most of them still retained their hunting instinct even when they weren't introduced to it in their life. So yeah. Sorry for the verily long answer. Conclusion, it depends on how your cat behave. Simply having a cat doesn't really counters the mice problems that you might have
I woke up today went to the basement and saw a small snake , a foot long , i yelled WTF! Snakes should be dealt with stick. Hit the snake on the head with heavy stick. Don't take a risk to save it. Kill it before it kills you. There is no need for snake.
1. 80% of snakes are not venomous, 20% of snakes are venomous yes, but only 7% have the ability to kill you, and that's if you don't go to the hospital. 2. Snakes are important to the eco-system, there is more need for snakes than there is for you. 3. Snakes and reptiles in general are a protected species in most countries and you will get a fine for killing it, and trust me, the fine is nasty. 4. Snakes don't want to harm you, and if you attack it directly it's more likely to bite you, just putting it outside is a win-win.
I found three snakes in my house. I have "weep holes" all around my house. I plugged the holes with Scotch Brite scouring pads cut to fit the holes. The weep holes still do their jobs and the snakes stay out.
my lights was off in my room I felt something crawling up towards my leg only to jump up and turn the lights on and what do I see a snake I'm so traumatized now I sleep with one eye open👁
Cats are good to have around because they eliminate the snakes food sources: lizards, birds, mice and insects. When the snake food source is eliminated, the snake will just move on to another property for food. I personally have 2 cats and I'm continuously getting up their trophies of mice, birds and etc., that they have behind to show me.

Of course, where ever there is snake food you could find snakes not only in India but all over the world where the climate is suitable for snakes. In India particularly and also adjoining countries the climate is suitable for almost all the year for snakes to be active. In cities, though the findings are rare now as till a few years ago people used to kill the snake whenever they find one. So count in the cities has depleted. But recently there are various private groups which catch the snake and release it into wilderness nearby city. Again this creates another problem that we find more bats in the cities and their numbers are growing day by day.

xchief661 lol, you had me cracking my ribs!

I searched "How to attract snakes to your house" and this came up lmao
My cat has brought up about 5 baby ones from the basement over the last couple years. Another one tonight.
good thing i live in 600 sq feet in IT housing project in California and live paycheck to paycheck with life being so busy i wouldn’t care a snake biting and killing me off. Thanks software engineering.
Move to austin😁
None of these videos are informative regarding keeping snakes 🐍 out other than advertising for the companies. 🤬🤬🤬🤬
a garden just slithered into my house in-between a tiny little crack between my door and doorway, and when i went around the other back door so i could try to catch it... it escaped!
thank you vestreet because i saw snake today

if I see a snake in my house I will play the flute to make them dance and then while it's hypnothized in dancing I will cut it into halves using a big meat knife I have in the kitchen. Oh shoot I don't have a flute!
OK instead, I will stand on a chair, and I will call 9-1-1.
Having cats in the house would Make it less likely to have mice and snakes? ?
James Paul yup
Simply having a cat doesn't really counters the mice problems that you might have
Gin Gin I have a European Shorthair And she Haves Instinct
James Paul yep
Just found a small black snake today inside by my front door. My cat didn't do anything but watch it. I was scared he was going to get bit.
I woke up today went to the basement and saw a small snake , a foot long , i yelled WTF! I grabbed a pair of tongs from the kitchen went back down grabbed it from the tale, i went outside and placed him in my neighbours lawn. hahahaa I have never seen a snake in my house let alone outside my house, im in Montreal, it makes no sense.
I am here, as there is a Snake in my house today
I would just kill it cause all the snakes that come into my house are venemous
Do housecats prevent snakes?
I've never encountered a snake indoors, and am very sad as such. I need to do the opposite of what this video recommends.
Great info!
can any one suggest a chemical or a mechanical device to catch or keep away snakes.
+Randhir Thakur I've searched much the same thing and it seems there doesn't seem to be any legit or 100% working device.
I think the best method would be a pet Mongoose!
Australia?
I had green with yellow stripe snake in my kitchen. strange I thought vet out snake and he did go back into door order and outside. bad omen snakes in house or around house means evil coming a viper person.
Counties who have specific agricultural departments often have a list of snake wranglers...especially if HOLLYWOOD is one of their revenue makers!
I would call my brothers Smith and Wesson
Snakes should be dealt with stick. Hit the snake on the head with heavy stick. Don't take a risk to save it. Kill it before it kills you. There is no need for snake.
😂
i hate killing snakes, i would only kill venomous ones, because most snakes help keep bug and rodents out
1. 80% of snakes are not venomous, 20% of snakes are venomous yes, but only 7% have the ability to kill you, and that's if you don't go to the hospital.
How can a snake get in a 2nd floor apartment?
It's really no problem to keep snakes out . All you need it a few cats .
I have spottedl
3 Indian Vine snakes, viper and one rat snake this week
I’m trying to do the opposite and attract snakes myself. I think they’re cool and there’s no dangerous species where I live.
I wish we could switch places
I wish I could send my snakes to you, I don't want them.
Just keep your house clean always.
Yeah really!
That 'sleep tight' at last is so scary😪
I found three snakes in my house. I have "weep holes" all around my house. I plugged the holes with Scotch Brite scouring pads cut to fit the holes. The weep holes still do their jobs and the snakes stay out.
If you find snake in your house then run away from 🏠
thank you because i have had a snake before and i done the same thing
What type of snake is this 0:13
my lights was off in my room I felt something crawling up towards my leg only to jump up and turn the lights on and what do I see a snake I'm so traumatized now I sleep with one eye open👁
I'd rather have mice or moles.
Thank you
Cats are good to have around because they eliminate the snakes food sources: lizards, birds, mice and insects. When the snake food source is eliminated, the snake will just move on to another property for food. I personally have 2 cats and I'm continuously getting up their trophies of mice, birds and etc., that they have behind to show me.
sleep tight??? lol
It’s the two legged snakes I don’t want to see in my home.
Thanks mam nice information
If I find snake in my room, I will kill it obviously 😱
Why...?
Do cats keep snakes away?
Yes. I think that applies anywhere but not absolute. It's just a cat predator instinct to attack snakes.
@@gepliprl8558 thank you 🤍
Today i found a snake under my bed i was looking for my afro comb it has been missing for 3 days my bf killed it with a spade i have a 6 months old i was so terrified i am scared even now just wondering when did the snake got in and how long it been in there
Poor snake, probably was a protected species too, you should contact the police and get that man a £1000 fine.
I had a snake in my house once and we broke up after three years.. I shouldn’t date toxic women 😁
Snakes anywhere ... shoot first and don't ask any questions later:)
We were cleaning our newly bought house and we saw a cobra.
It traumatized me, thats why im here watching this video.
@Summer D umm as I said in our house
Im from the Philippines
Is there any chemical or anything like this putting which into house keeps snakes away
Thankyou
A small snake literally just stayed at my door not moving or anything
I wouldn't want to keep snakes out of my house. I have a pet snake, and the only reason he's not in the house is because he's not allowed in the house.
Take care and God bless.
Have u removed it's venome ??...
Do Pet snakes bite??
If caught inside your home, it's an intruder. So, kill it.
That's all fine and dandy, but where's the pet of keeping the anglos out of ireland?
The Crimson fucker z
Get your flame throwers ready.
because I live in India there are no snake control agents
I thought in India there would be snake control, is it true you can get snakes in the suburbs of India and even the city?
How about snake charmers? Can't you enlist their help?
Nishtha Rai hi
Of course, where ever there is snake food you could find snakes not only in India but all over the world where the climate is suitable for snakes. In India particularly and also adjoining countries the climate is suitable for almost all the year for snakes to be active. In cities, though the findings are rare now as till a few years ago people used to kill the snake whenever they find one. So count in the cities has depleted. But recently there are various private groups which catch the snake and release it into wilderness nearby city. Again this creates another problem that we find more bats in the cities and their numbers are growing day by day.
Girl you need a 12 guage with the kind of snakes yall have over there. That's a control agent.
If a snake got in my house a glue pad will go down. I do not like snakes sorry
In the house we're living after less than 3 months no body homes, we got home from vacation, after 1 night sleep in my room then morning another day morning I found furiously in my room a tail of snake, I thought it was a lizard but not dissappear but I checked all out then I found in my under my pillow behind my bed ,was really scared ,I didn't touch anything else we call someone to remove then they kill it? ??
Snakes help the cat in the basement keep the spiders under control. It's a harmonious biological environment😬
There's no bucket big enough to catch a 3 metre long black cobra quick enough😩 it's their house now🚶🏾♀️
Not being funny, you can ride your high horse all day long. If I see snakes in my house, there is only one thing, and humane isn't one!
Sleep tight???!!?!?!?! Really?!?? 😂😂😂 I cant even sleep
If I ever found a snake in my house I'd use my acetylene torch on them!
me when easy £1000 fine for killing a protected species
Im scared of snake its in my house i have to trap the snake in the basket and trough far away
I have seen 5 snake babies in my house.. Wat does it mean?? Their mother would be living in my house r they came entry from a small house hole?? I mean really scared. Plzzz help
This is creepy, but if it's none venomous I think I'll just let it hunt for rats and mice 😧
