I just turned 32 a month ago and have been struggling to grow on social media. I was posting daily shorts and reels for 2 years and still slowly growing. I have been posting 2+ videos a week on TH-cam too. I’m married, work full time, and have two kids. I don’t want to sell courses, but would love to make more money and have more time with my kids.

Hey! I can see you're really putting in the work so far, that's great! Posting like you have is honestly the hardest part (getting over that fear!).
From a brief look at your channel, you need to do something more specific and solve an existing problem in a new way. "Videos about all of my interests: vegan food hauls, beauty reviews, subscription box unboxings and spoilers, true crime, etc!" is too broad and doesn't' really serve a single person with a single problem. You don't have to sell courses to make money, but regardless of how you monetize, your content needs to create value for someone.
If you can, join my challenge, it'll totally help with identifying your niche, how to create value, and building an audience!

@@hayleypaigejohnsonI thought I had joined your challenge, but didn’t receive any emails. I entered my email again today. I have a super tiny second channel that I haven’t posted on in awhile where I wanted to focus on vlogs and vegan food content. For this channel, I started just doing beauty but I cannot keep up. I would like to still do beauty videos, but also want to be relatable to working office moms and busy moms/self care

Personally I would love to see a video titled My Top 5 cheap, easy, vegan recipes for the whole family… Your titles and thumbnail need to be more grabbing… Or How to feed a family for a week under $100 (or the lowest you can do…Maybe recreate viral makeup looks with a side by side photo of you and a viral influencer…

So good! I'm 38 and started my channel 9 months ago when I was pregnant with my 5th. I stopped a little after he was born so I could get our family into a new rhythm but I truly believe that the Lord gives you a bigger capacity with each child. The amount I get done in a day now would have exhausted me as a mother of 1 or 2 children but now it doesn't even phase me!
I will say, I've struggled to figure out what would be a good offering for my audience. I have a freebie but not sure what to offer as a paid option. I'm a mama of 5 boys so I feel like I could offer something around that but not sure:)

But I’ve always wanted to create a course about an easy way to learn reading writing and comprehension of English. I am a certified tutor and tutored kiddos that were 2-3yrs grade level behind in those subjects.
I also have taught a college class to adults that were learning English. They said it was the best class and learned more than anyone they’ve ever had 😊.

Started a TH-cam channel when TH-cam was first in existence (that's how old I am! haha) and am still here today. I haven't been "consistent" with videos but I've posted since then and have started seeing growth. Also, I feel like it's taken me a LONG time to find my "niche" and it's just now starting to come to light in my 30's. It's okay to take a while to grow but I think persistence is key.

I’m also a 32 year old stay-at-home mom/soon-to-be homeschooling mom trying to get my channel built up, and there’s a lot of times where I either have mom guilt for being “selfish” for wanting to do something for myself and create a better life for my family, or I feel like all I’m good for is just being a mom and that I shouldn’t pursue my passion. Your message was so encouraging, and I deeply appreciate that as a fellow mom, you’re also supportive of other moms pursuing their entrepreneur goals while still being present with their kids. I need to forget about the crap and picking a niche or worrying about if I’m trending. Just post and get better with each post. It will happen. My drive feels stronger then every right now. I like how you said it. Think backwards for my goal date and what I want.

I have many ideas and I actually started creating my own POD store with Shopify a few weeks ago. I have secured the same name over several platforms (insta, TikTok and FB), have basically all the technicalities done and now need to work on the creative side of my store (designing and adding products).
Besides a POD store I’ve also been wanting to start a TH-cam channel for many years. (Not sure what niche tho but most likely motherhood life and homeschooling perhaps (which we have been slowly incorporating but will be more on it now since they’re older)
I also have a passion for health and non toxic living so probably incorporate that as well.
I am very good at editing and putting music together that’s what I did growing up.
We have a black German shepherd who just turned 8 months old he is amazing but a lot of work basically my 3rd child. I just made his own TikTok last night and plan on making videos of him and try to grow his doggy page. Plan on writing down all ideas and ways I can monetize off my fur baby because I know many dog lovers out there who can relate and love German shepherds as well.
To summarize, mom life/homeschool/non toxic living/health is what I want to start a business from just not too sure what direction to start or go in and what specifically i should talk about and how I can solve people’s problems with it.
Sorry I know this is a lot. But there’s many ideas I have, I know I just need to focus on one thing at a time to be successful and grow!

…I appreciate this video, but I had to stop and comment quickly that, I went to public school. I’m 53 so this was in the 70s and 80s. I had a great education. My son is in public school now in the 5th grade. It is true that he is having a much different experience than I did, although his school is great (Texas in general, however, sucks in terms of so many aspects of public schools and are trying to destroy the whole system…but that’s a whole other topic). I just wish we would strengthen our public school system, and really give it, the teachers and administrators what they need in order to give ALL children who live in this country a top-notch education (no matter their economic status) as I feel like I had. For free. My parents didn’t have to do side hustles in order to pay for private school for their three kids in order to feel like their kids were getting a good education. I’m glad that concern for our children is what is motivating us to start our businesses, I just wish it wasn’t because of how our government is short-changing us.

There is something essentially wrong about finding satisfaction in showing your face online and people praising you for nothing, like zero achievements. Like don't get me wrong, influencers with a purpose like teaching other people to build their business, cook, clean, whatever so long as it is actionable, deserve the hype. But if you're just wanting to be an influencer without any value or you being good at anything, just because real work is too hard, there are a few words out there that come to mind - extreme entitlement, attention w****e, and others.
Only very, very few of the people that post themselves online end up being successful, and those are typically very relatable. If you do not have anything to say or you're just doing it for the money, if you're willing to show your kids' faces on camera to make a fortune, if you're going to turn yourself into a plastic doll so that people like you, you're either not going to stand out from the crowd or you're going to end up hating yourself.
Social media creates monsters, and if you look at the kids these days, they are not able to communicate with each other other than through Discord. Do you really want to be a part of that?
