      Its like if ants started building tiny ships to sail across small waterbodies. I'm thinking what kind of propulsion would be used by the ship in the video to "sail" to a whirpool galaxy (if I'm not mistaken, great galaxy shot btw)?

    I'm very excited about the Lockheed Martin project concerning their attempt at constructing a fusion-reactor by themselves, as opposed to the major project by most of Europe. If they can pull it off...

    • @Toolpusher
      @Toolpusher 10 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      The EU are involved in two projects; their own HiPER, which is laser-ignition, like the National Ignition setup in the US, and ITER, which is a torus system, and has global involvement, including the EU, US, and Russia, although the reactor itself is being built in France.

      '''''a fusion reactor"""" you kidding me.......we used to work special programs at LM...there only purpose was to bill the government for money......no real actual work was performed......even when working requirements, it was just all lip service.........besides, any physics major will tell you a fusion reactor probably not possible..........

      With a few impressive exceptions, nearly all of Lockheed Martin's best products were either co-developed with other companies or acquired through corporate mergers. They wouldn't be where they are now without the companies they bought. RIP Sikorsky Aircraft, Martin Marietta, and General Dynamics Aerospace

    • @kreamwoo6450

      Sean 7567 ......Lockheed is well known to lay off best talent, in favor of keeping old school engineers from MM, just like a good-ole-boys club.......some of these people could not design themselves out of paper bag..............if they manage to get design for an actual fusion reactor, you can bet they steal it and no pay for it from actual developer.......

    • @benz9063
      @benz9063 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Growing up I used to think like many people, that it would be nice if the government could divest the defense budget to improve many other areas of the society.
      But now I've learned a little bit more about the world, I understand that everything we take for granted, commerce, innovation, art, etc. is possible because of freedom, and freedom is only real when it can be defended. To be able to defend freedom, our nation needs to be strong. But how do we stay strong? It is through the relentless competition against powerful adversaries.
      That means the peace dividend is always to be short-lived, unfortunately, and the arms race/cold war is the norm. Is there any other way around it? Not really.
      The good news is, that America is truly a blessed land with many amazing geographic features that affords us a lot of security and productivity. The only way to defeat America is from within, and our adversaries know that, so they have been actively experimenting with ways to tear apart our unity and dissolve our trust in the institution.
      Therefore the strengthening of our democratic institution should deserve as much attention and vigilance as the military-industrial complex.

    I was interested in how they were talking about the future energies to power our systems and they're showing a video of satellites in space that looks to be harnessing solar energy and shooting it back down to earth? Is this a possibility? Or are they reflecting sun light directly on to solar panels here on Earth to power maybe drones? Drone ships? On the fly? In areas where access to energy is not accessible? We just shoot it down from space?

    • @jackcloud9829
      @jackcloud9829 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Good question, I asked the same thing when we built that animation. Here's your answer: The 'space array' captures the Sun's power and then converts it into microwave energy and then beams that down to a ground station with a very focused beam. The reason this technique is being explored is that the Sun's energy coefficient is >30% higher once you're beyond our 'protective' atmosphere (good for humans, inefficient for energy production), therefore can generate much more 'clean' power than say terrestrial solar panel arrays. Additionally, you don't need a giant forest of solar panels, exposed to the elements and corrupting the aesthetic landscape of Earth, save a ground station receiving microwave antenna. and lastly, The 'space array' can be dynamically positioned so that it is always in constant sunlight, delivering clean energy 24/7/365, unlike terrestrial solar arrays that won't perform at night. And there it is. Thanks for the great question. Hope you like the answer.

      Like any other company in arms, pharmaceutical or what ever industry, they are working for money and / or power, nothing else. War is for money and money brings control and power. that's how the world works. it's as simple as that. it's like they needed 9/11 to start some war - for oil, power and money or why no one tells us that cancer can be prevented just by eating the right food - without cancer pharmaceutical industry would be dead soon - same goes for war. the US doesn't need do defend anything, that time is over for decades now, they just go fight for power and money in other countries... sad but true story.
      anyway I like the cool videos from lockheed, eventhough the F35 is likely the most crappy plane ever build - it's about gaining money and driving the economy, not for fighting real war :D

    You're preaching to the choir man. I completely understand the situation, and the only day we'll finally be able to branch out and claim what's ours among the stars is the day there are no disagreements, and one world government. That's why we need to eliminate anyone, any government who stops this from becoming possible. I like to think of it as the evolution every sentient species across the universe undergoes. Either (A) succeed in uniting, or (B) all we leave behind is ashes and radiation.

The previous owners appreciated the few thousand for the quit claim deed, witch nullifys any outstanding liens other than the primary and revokes the redemption period. I appreciate you patience but I think there has been a miss understanding in that, you think that I think: 'warfare/defence' isn't a driver of innovation. It surely is, I said that from the start.
    However it only innovates for the it's purpose:'warfare'/'defence'.
    All I was saying that there are peaceful incentives which can be utilised and that it is the market(ie science,commerce,cooperation) which has progressed man for the better, not war as 4everDubin was saying.

    Human logic: Pays money to get the top of a tall building and pays for binoculars to look at things on the ground.
