Well keyblade master means you have reached a level of expertise to be recognized by a keyblade master, it is kind of circular. Like apprenticeships in older times (and some occupation still today), there are different means to train and different criteria to qualify. One unifying qualification is strength of heart, that is sufficient resistance to Darkness (the original Keyblade masters, the foretellers, were specifically trained to resist darkness and act as vessels to hold "darkness").
I argue mickey did train riku, he trained him not on combat skills, but in strength of heart.

Quite bold of you to posit that Keyblade Master means anything, given that the story has shown us the opposite. It seems that simple to me. That it means nothing.
