WOW! Any tips on those fast doodle tonguing (im assuming) passages?
The tip is always to try to imitate the other trombonistas more renowned. Language is something very individual in the sense of execution, but at the same time it is collective in the subject of learning. It is the same principle of a baby learning to speak: he must see and imitate others who are already fluent. I always point out Bob McChesney's methods because he portrayed the whole process from the start. A hug!

Por qual método vc estudou o doodle tongue?Estou iniciando os estudos e encontrando dificuldade com o material. Abs
Na verdade quando eu iniciei os estudos eu fazia a linguagem do jazz sem saber, pelo princípio da imitação. Ouvia Carl Fontana, Bill Watrous, etc, e imitava-os tocando. O Doodle é apenas 1 das infinitas possibilidades de linguagens jazzisticas. Não há muito material, mas o embaixador e grande propagador pedagógico desse formato de estudo é o trombonista Bob McChesney. Em seu site tem o método e o play along que usei para aprimorar as técnicas.

Eu acredito que vc não tenha entendido o que se passa no vídeo.
Explicando: esse vídeo contém um solo de um trombonista americano. Eu transcrevi o solo, isto é, escrevi na partitura a mesma coisa que ele tocou e estou reproduzindo em meu instrumento. Não está mais rápido e nem mais devagar, pois se fosse o caso vc conseguiria perceber isso. É como se eu estivesse dublando uma outra pessoa, falando ao mesmo tempo que ela fala.

Você vai soar parecido, mas igual não tem como por conta da emissão das notas (máquina de pisto desacelera um pouco a passagem de ar fazendo com que o som fique um pouco diferente) e também por conta da articulação que é diferente devido a ausência de alguns recursos no trombone de pisto.
