Great review Jamie! There is some confusion on what FRESH is, it is a Cleaner & Detailer we carefully designed to pair with our leather and interior coating OR to be used as a clean and protect for ongoing maintenance and cleanliness of your interior. It contains specialty surfactants that are tough but delicate on surfaces, UV protectants, hygiene enhacing additives, odor neutralizers and anti-dust/static and fingerprint additives all in one formula. Its designed to be versatile for use as a dedicated cleaner, coating prep or as your wipe-down and interior maintenance product.
Did a big order last month for my first ADS testing after hearing and watching nothing but amazing things past year. Cant wait to try Hero and Amplify especially in the winter for hero! Shampoo plus was great first time used it 2 weeks ago. Would you say amplify works best as a drying aid or more for a topper? I hate when you use something as a drying aid and you get that sticky tacky feel under the towel, even if you aren’t over applying product on the panel
@@armourdetailsupply awesome, i figured as much with your products but just checking if its more recommended for a topper and not as a drying aid. Car isnt ceramic coated either but will be doing a sealant soon, coating in the near future i hope
I love Pilot by far as quick maintenance detail. I use P&S express when it’s dirty and follow up quick with pilot. Pilot IMO is just so good and smells amazing. Wipe off is clean and leaves the best finish possible. This stuff should be a sleeper anymore.
@@Thai.Hto an outsider/user, I could see this confusion. But they are not. It’s like saying a wax and a ceramic coating are the same, because they both protect from UV and create hydrophobics. One lasts years, one lasts weeks. Fresh is a dedicated cleaner meant to prepare for Ethos interior coatings. We would not recommend pilot to prep for interior coatings as it would leave behind protection and other films that will impede the bonding of a coating. Very much different products👍🏻
@@armourdetailsupply ahhhh ok so fresh strips while pilot actually protects. So I will still need a chemical to protect after using fresh. Well thanks for the explanation this changes things lol I'll cancel my fresh order and get pilot 💪
@@Thai.H I believe Fresh still has some UV inbibitors and such. So still worth the order/try. Don't quote me on that, but I can guarantee it is not as designed for that purpose as Pilot.
I think Jamie’s 3rd thumb had something to do with that leather test 😂 All I’m going to say is the results Jamie got with Fresh don’t match what’s listed on the Ethos website. Based on the webpage for Fresh, we should have seen a significant darkening effect along the tape line. Pilot actually lived up to the Ethos description more than Fresh did 😅. I’m not saying it’s not a good product, but there’s a bit of marketing trickery and it makes me question the validity of other claims. ADS lists some of the ingredients that play a key roll in Pilot and didn’t do any sketchy marketing tricks with their photos. For better or worse, with ADS I know exactly what I’m buying.
@@Turbo6Detail I don’t think either should darken as I haven’t seen that in any of my use of the products, both clean and restore by removing the dirt which like the door panel can appear to darken but it’s actually just clean 👍
Every surface will react differently to each product, Fresh does contain protection but no conditioning additives. No marketing trickery here my friend. I think the dozens of videos and thousands of reviews go to show our products work as we claim at this point...
Definitely preference dependent in this case as Pilot leaves behind a slight anti-bacterial which gives it that slight sheen or darker appearance on plastics. If I was doing doors I would probably pick pilot. If I was doing leather seats, I would pick fresh. I've used both and they're both rather great. Great video, Jamie.
Jamie it would have been a better showdown if you cleaned both sides of the window to make it a fairer fight. Nice review on the difference of the looks or various substrates.
Great demo. I've went thru several and Fresh is one of my favorites. And of course you can't beat Thyphon for a great cleaner. Just my 3 cents you know... inflation
So far I have loved all of the products from ADS. Pilot however, I'm not too sure about, at least for me. It seems when I spray it and try to wipe, it becomes very grabby and seems to leave behind quite a bit of lint/dust on piano black surfaces that the MF picks up along the way. So I have had to come back with another clean MF towel for a final wipe. I don't have to do this with my other cleaners or P&S Swift. I use P&S Swift and ADS Pilot for maintenance detail. Maybe I'm just doing something wrong or something...
I feel like a better comparison would be ethos interior detailer, instead of their the cleaner. Interior cleaners are like pol star, xpress, griots interior cleaner, etc. It’s interesting that ethos claims their interior cleaner leaves uv and other protection, while also having an interior detailer that does the same thing. Usually you would want the interior cleaner to just clean and not leave anything behind, and have the interior detailer have the extra protection. I feel like the ethos fresh probably leaves very little protection at all, which is evidence by the much more matte appearance.
The old interior detailer is a more traditional application that leaves behind a sheen like I said, I compared these two because they both claim to clean and protect not overthinking it
Do you have any products that you recommend for an older (90s) coated leather seat to soften it. My corvette has noticeable hardness to the leather in spots where the sun can hit and softness where it doesn’t. I’d like to try and bring it back to soft if possible. I figure southern car have this problem even more so you may have a trick to restoring them.
No need. This isn’t a comparison that should ever be made, it Jamie is known to push products to their limit. One is a detailer that provides heavy protection and thin surface films for antibacterial, and the other is a dedicated cleaner meant to prepare for interior ceramic coatings. Pilot did and performed just as we intended and market it. Both solid for their designed purposes😊
@@laxus8172 From the Ethos website in the FAQ section - "An Interior Detailer is a specialized product designed for the cleaning and conditioning of various surfaces inside a vehicle. FRESH - All-Purpose Interior Cleaner serves this exact purpose, offering a solution that cleans, protects, and conditions materials such as leather, vinyl, plastics, fabrics, and carpets, ensuring your vehicle’s interior is not only clean but also maintained and protected."
Yes, but not in the way most believe. Look into the science of free radical scavengers. Also keep in mind automotive glass blocks 70-90% of UV A/B. When UV rays penetrate the interior surfaces, they can generate free radicals-unstable molecules that can damage the materials. Free radical scavengers in car care products neutralize these free radicals by donating an electron, effectively stopping the chain reaction that would otherwise lead to material degradation.
@@barrybij8079 you’re not I’ve seen those tests as well, and I’ve seen some products have less dust but using them on protected and non protected surfaces and letting them sit for a period of time is thr only way to tell. I’ve done my fair share of testing. Some product may prevent some sun bleaching of the surface but it’s not a huge difference from other dressings.
@armourdetailsupply good information... pilot is awesome btw...im looking forward to trying phobic. I think you are changing the name tho...thanks for all the good stuff...
Just recently tried Ethos, it’s good and has a good smell did the job…BUT it leave streaks on the material and left my steering wheel a lil sticky. I may throw it away. And their wheel and tire stuck to be honest. Smells and again the product is sticky and cleaned it just ok
