Spend at least $75.00 or more on good running sneakers. Start studying for the entrance exam as soon as possible. Practice running at least 2.0 miles for 15 minutes every night. I don't know if the rules changed but my mother sent me enough cupcakes and other snack cakes to my boot camp company of 85 girls. This was in 1986. Everyone loved the treats and my Company Commanders were impressed.

tbh all I brought w me was my backpack, my orders from meps, my phone, the clothes I wore to boot camp & my wallet... didnt bring much at all lmao also I heard stories of ppl bringing a whole suitcase and their xbox ps5 or something... dont be that guy😂😂😂
Yup very true. Some people don’t have family that will be at their graduation or anything like that so that’s why they do that because when you graduate you take that box with you to A-School so that way they just have their items with them there.
It’s on everything that’s in the book that they give you when you pick your rate at MEPS. From what I remember it was rank and recognition, the phonetic alphabet and some other things. I don’t remember much other than that. I would say it will be hard if you never look over the book. But if you fail it it’s not that serious.
Did you struggle with pushups in bootcamp? Or was there anyone who could hardly do pushups but still passed their final PT Test? I'm really struggling with pushups and I leave in 1 week
Hi! I didn’t really struggle because i started working out before i left to get into the habit of it and every night before bed i did about 10 push ups. If you can’t do push ups then you will fail your PT test. During bootcamp you will do PT on a daily basis and you have to do push-ups as a part of it so you’ll get better for sure. Good luck at bootcamp you’ll do great! Do you have any other questions in regards to bootcamp ?
Hi, I’m leaving to bootcamp in less than a month! I wanted to know how was the shower situation there? Do you have a time limit and was there any privacy at all? Also, can you bring like a normal size Bible there or does it have to be pocket sized? Thanks in advance :)
Hi! So for showering everyone showered all at once they gave the whole compartment 45 minutes to shower and get dressed have your hair done teeth brushed. The shower is an open shower concept you’re able to Google navy Boot Camp showers and pictures pop up and you’re able to obviously get a feel for what it looks like. My RDCs made sure that we started cleaning before the 45 minutes are up so the faster you showered obviously the faster you can get to cleaning. So I took a pocket sized Bible or a little bit bigger than that maybe like the size of my palm or my hand you could say, I did see a few people with normal size Bibles and they did give out Bibles at the church at RTC. Just think about space honestly because you stuff everything in a small little drawer so all of your personal items will be in there razors, deodorant, hairspray, hair gel, your hairbrush all those kind of things, and also letters go in your drawer so just be conservative of space. Keep that in mind when you pick out the Bible that you want to take. Hope this helps! If you have any other questions let me know!!
@@kellypriscilla718 Got it, this is very helpful thank you! Another random question, do they give you sandals to wear while showering since we are sharing showers? To be more sanitary?

Hey! My shampoo & conditioner that I used at the time was like a 13.5 oz bottle. I recommend something that size because of where you have to keep it, locked in your A&B drawer. My RDCs didn’t have an issue with the care package they made me open it in front of them at mail call and let me keep everything. I’ve heard RDCs are just situational about it. Everyone in my division and brother div that got packages got to keep the items because it was nothing crazy. Some people even got crossword puzzles lol.

Shipping out on Feb 10, will I get yelled at by the RTCs for bringing extra clothes in my backpack? I also heard from someone that the clothes might get donated?
No you won’t, just make sure it’ll fit in a small box. I don’t remember the size of the box but it wasn’t huge huge. Check out some RTC videos on YT and you can see the boxes in their videos. If you can’t fit the stuff in the box it can be donated to goodwill and if you don’t want to box up your items you just throw it in the goodwill bin.
I leave for basic in a week! Do you have any advise? Are you allowed to bring your own shampoo and conditioner and razors or do your parents have to send it to you? My recruiters told me for the run it has to be under 18:30 minutes is that true? How did you like mentally prepare yourself? what did you guys do for like fitness? Lastly my recruiter said some girls go in a division that has boys and girls so if it’s like that how does sleeping and showering work if there is guys and girls?
My advice would be don’t take anything personal; it’s just business your RDCs are there to make you the sailor the fleet needs so whatever they yell at you just brush it off and keep it moving. I didn’t take shampoo and conditioner but i took my personal razors and then my mom send me a small like really small package with my shampoo conditioner and more razors; i was told that it all is up to your RDC wether or not you can keep it. I kept everything my mom sent me and I wasn’t the only one in bootcamp that got care packages sent to them. The first run it is 18:30 but you don’t want to rely on that time. Where you run the air quality sucks so it makes running a little harder. I mentally prepared myself by watching a lot of different youtube videos and telling myself that i needed to go through bootcamp to help me become who i want to be and i was doing everything i was doing in that moment for my mom. For fitness we would PT everyday but it wasn’t a crazy workout it was basic and just annoying. Also yes some girls do go to a integrated division I was in one of those. So the way it works is that you have soemthing called a brother division and they do everything in training with you so you’ll have a female and male compartment across the hall from each other and all the females will be in one compartment and then all the males in the other. So you’ll share the “house” with the females of your brother div. For example: I was in division 076 and my brother div was 075 we did everything with them, we went to chow together, the classes together, firefighting, everything. So when we slept and showered we (the females) from 076 and 075 were all in one compartment and then the males of 076 and 075 were in their compartment. If that confuses you and would like better clarification let me know!
