  • Solo hike with tent at Ammarnäs in the Swedish mountains in mid June. Still much snow and lots of melt water in the streams, but no mosquitos. Hiking with trail runner shoes (Salomon Sense Ride 2). Tent was the Tarptent Notch.

    In 21 minutes of this video, there was more drama, storytelling, suspense, action, and exceptional cinematography than the last three Disney Star Wars movies combined. Great video Erik. Thank you.

    The interaction with the moose is the kind of thing you remember for a long time. It looked a young one, full of curiosity.

      They usually are way more shy. Definitely a confident young fella this one. I think Erik was happy that the mother was not tagging along, because a protective adult moose can be dangerous

      @@patriark can he attack humans?

    • @patriark
      @patriark 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Alessandro-nq3tm Yes. Moose bulls can be aggressive, but it's very rare that they end up hurting people. 99,999% of the time a moose will just run away from the sound of humans.

      @@patriark Had in total four encounters with Moose bulls over the years and in each occasion we just had a short staring contest like in the video and both moved on with our days. The sheer size of these guys however does make me respect them and nature.

    Fantastic! Great scenery. There is nothing like early Spring. The rebirth of life, the sun rising higher in the sky, the warmth coming down on the cold earth, longer days, birds singing in the early morning, the awakening. It is a phenomenon that may be unmatched anywhere in the Universe. Never take it for granted. You will not get to experience it even a 100 times in your life. Take the time to appreciate each one. Peace to all of you.

    I agree with your assessment of trail runners. If the load isn't too heavy, weather and trails are easy, really worth wearing. I used to over use boots too.
    I run and exercise with minimalist foot wear all the time now, so it's a logical choice for me.

    Another superb film Erik, yes been using cross-trainers myself for many years now, cannot beat the light, soft, comfortable feeling, even on rocky mountain tracks. I've used Salomon/Inov8/Merrell but now settled with a pair of Saucony trail runners, can't beat them & even in cooler weather especially river crossings just remove socks & insoles so easy & they dry out so quickly afterwards & never feel heavy & water-logged on my feet , will never go back to heavy boots now 👍😁
