Paul Williams was putting out songs for all the great acts of his era. He never got the credit he deserves. He was up there with Dylan, Neil Diamond, David Gates, etc.

Thank You for this post.I love you Paul and all of your music.Paul and John Bettis are my favorite lyricists. I love Paul's comment "Then an Angel sang it." You are a special person Paul and I can't Thank You enough for all of the great memories and for explaining our deepest feelings that you put into song.We only just begun 50 years ago wondering why Rainy days and Monday's get us down.Funny but it seems I always wind up here with you. When our smallest of dreams won't come true.We can take all the madness the world has to give but we won't last a day without your music.Regards, The lovers, The dreamers and me!
Karen was one of the few that sounded as good if not better live than on the recordings. I saw them three times in concert they were awesome! Best female singer that ever lived. 💞
A TH-cam channel called Wings of Pegasus analyzed Karen live vs studio recordings. Her vocal pitch was actually more perfect live. She probably was just more relaxed in the studio sessions.
Thank you Victor I never knew that! They were one of the few that I always said sounded better live! Karen has always been my favorite female singer no one comes close in my eyes!
What a great tribute the carpenters were my wife’s favorite group unfortunately my wife passed away very similar to what Karen passed away from. However my wife was handicap for eight years in the nursing home she did have a power chair and I did have a handicap van and we go out to eat and go different places but she said this is not what she wanted and she didn’t want her grandchildren to see her like that in a chair. For that I am now very depressed over that it’s really got me down I did everything I thought I could last a year if she was alive in the nursing home but just wasn’t what you wanted all I can say is thank you for the great time we had together all 38 years and God bless you in heaven and I will see you someday
Karen Carpenter=effortless brilliance and grace. And thank you, Paul Williams for the inspiring lyrics and Roger Nichols for the glorious melody of this pop music masterpiece "We've Only Just Begun".
“Talking to myself and feeling old,” the opening line of “Rainy Days and Mondays,” was a direct quote of Paul Williams’ mother, Beulah Mae Williams. She later protested, “I never said that!” but he took her to Europe to thank her anyway.

"Rainy Days & Mondays" caught the favorable attention of Johnny Mercer. Recognition from peers can be more important sometimes.
The best female vocalist of our time.
Karen sings so effortlessly beautifully
Karen will always be the best, We miss you Karen RIP.
Karen had the voice of an angel. Unmatched before or since. Rest in peace Karen.
This was my husband and my wedding song 30 years ago, always have and always will be a Carpenters fan, no auto tune, just pure talent.

Paul Williams truly was a brilliant song writer, and a hilarious comedian, but to me, he will always be "Little Enos" (Smokey & The Bandit)
