Just picked up some cheap factory ammo to test in my 223 today. Will have to wait a while before I get a chance though. Interesting history on the rifle, glad you got it going well.
Awesome! 223 is highly regarded. Noise around it has died down for some reason but that goes for a number of small calibre rifles for some reason. I'm still debating .223 or .204 Ruger
@@chrissue4131 I mainly got it because I can buy factory ammo without it costing $2 a shot. I don't shoot much now days, but trying to get a chance to go out soon. Mine is a Remington 700 5r MilSpec, seems to shoot pretty straight.
PrimaRC wow those are a very nice rifle...top of the line I think from Remington if not close to it and absolutely a tack driver. You have the best RC’s coffee machine and firearms👍
I love my 30.06 centurion 123 , commercial mauser. It has the same 1 piece base from burris with leupold rings. Its my hunting rifle and gets me the animal every time it shoots. 180 grain gmx bullets. Nikon prostaff scope set to 230 yards, 3 inches high at 100 yards. Its abit heavy and very steady when looking through the scope. I paid 350 for it from a buddy. Its the same as a parker hale safari.
assuming it is the same cause as mine, there is a Z spring in your internal magazine that connects the floor plate to the follower. that spring slides off very easily. You can then turn it upside down and reinstall it. I'm guessing what that will do is slightly change the pressure point that the follower is placing on the round as it comes out of the magazine. Tell me if that makes sense, if not I will do a short video. I want to do more video's but have struggled with time.
I’m afraid you will just need to call around to gunsmiths in your area. These are old rifles that haven’t been made in a very long time I am afraid. What country are you in?
@@ryansoutdoorschannel3428 Thanks for taking the time to watch. I need to do some more video's. When you say it jams, how is it doing that? I turned the follower spring in the magazine around and it fixed my issue
No worries mate , and when I push the rounds in they tend to not stack properly in the mag , first two go in fine but once I get the 3rd or even 4 round pushed down it locks up and won't allowed the spring to push them up so the bolt can grab them , it happens 50 percent of the time , could just be the design and the larger/longer bullet causing my problem
@@ryansoutdoorschannel3428 I would definitely have a look at your spring. Providing your OAL is within spec and the tip isn't catching coming up out of the magazine, then it is unlikely to be the round
Hi and thanks for tuning in. That particular rifle is using a one piece bridge mount opposed to individual bases as you are able to see. I think apart from my .22lr all my bases and rings are Leupold. I don't think I have a bias toward Leupold, they are just often more available where I am, and my choice at time of purchase has often been Leupold Steel or some noname alloy base for some reason. So I have chosen Leupold and they have always held up well. I use a tiny bit of blue locktite as well on my screws to minimise the chance of backing out. I hope that is helpful.
@@chrissue4131 Hi thanks for the information. My friend have a Parker hale Midland in 30-06 but im not sure if it is the 2100 or the 2600 model. We are looking for a one piece scope base for his rifle
Schalk Burger consider going 2 piece bases. I had a look at mine last night and I am starting to doubt what brand they are. From memory the first of the Parker-Hale Midlands didn’t have a model number stamped, at least mine doesn’t. Nothing wrong with 2 piece bases, I had them on a Sako 30-06 I used to have
@@ryansoutdoorschannel3428 we do have the parker hale bases but no rings that will fit. And the Aluminum bases from parker hale suck. Also can't get the wever bases. But a local company does make a 2 piece stud base for the rifle. The rifle is at a gunsmith who is going to fit those bases

I have one like this in 270 works great 👍

Good to hear it. The '06 is a mighty cartridge.
Short rounds always feed less reliably in long actions. That's why short actions were invented.
I have the same issue with my gun do you know where I can buy that spring
Why not just remove your existing mag spring, detach it from the follower, turn it upside-down and re-attach it to the follower?
@@haroldgodwinson832 I’ve tried that but it only goes one way
The same thing happened to my paker hale 308 do you know what I can do to fix it

I got a midland 2100 30/06 it does the 3 leaf clover at 100 too lol
The only thing I hate about it is the rounds are hard to load properly or they’ll jam , it’s never stove pipes tho

What scope base do you have on the rifle?

The only bases you can find for the 2100 are from weaver, two piece #75 and #71 I believe, or if you can find original Parker-hale mounts
