I've ordered my Toyota Yaris GR and can't wait for it to arrive. I'll keep the Tesla to keep the environerds happy, but I've bought the Yaris to keep ME happy
The funniest thing is that process of making batteries for EVs and transporting them over the ocean is one of the most damaging processes in the world. Your Tesla, if used as much as average petrol/diesel car, will be "less damaging" for the environment after ~15 years of driving. If you're using only electricity from "green sources", so in practice this is possble only in Norway. Environmental advantage of EVs is one of the biggest lies in the industry.
Why you care about the environerds? That the big problem of EVs... They are boring because less emotions. No sound, no gear changing(for most of them), no rattles of the drive train, fast acceleration to around 200 kph but then... Racing against trucks on unlimited highways... EVs are for the city, hybrids are a good solution for both.

I believe the GR Supra will produce less than 20,000 units before the end of its run in which there will be no replacement. Lets face it, it was an image stunt to bring in buyers. This would make it a lot harder to find in the future and hopefully make it appreciate rather than depreciate.
So is this the equivalent of the Lanica Delta HF Integarle , though this car is not been used in the WRC for now . It has been a while since any auto manufacturers have dared to build a real road going rally car in a volume form. The last one from Ford was the Escort RS , none of the Focus RS car ever used 4WD , Toyota's last was the Celica GT4's most been back in the old Group A days along with the cars from Subaru and Mitsubishi cars . So it is nice to see what could be a last Swan song for this sort of car. Funny thing I just noticed this car has 265 bhp if so that is the same as the Lancer Evo 8 in road spec. Back in 90's I wanted to own a Lancia Delta HF Intergrali Evo 1 but at 21 years old both their sales price and the insurance have me no chance . But, yes you get this 'boat feel' in curves
Thank the supra for this. Toyota had to redeem them self for asking Bmw so they made this
I believe the GR Supra will produce less than 20,000 units before the end of its run in which there will be no replacement. Lets face it, it was an image stunt to bring in buyers. This would make it a lot harder to find in the future and hopefully make it appreciate rather than depreciate.
I feel that journalists have over-hyped this car. In isolation, it seems great, but put up against other hot hatches so people can really compare it.
Would rather have this than the Supra anyway, waiting for the GRMN Yaris
Great piece of automotive journalism
Thanks - glad you enjoyed!
thank you for criticizing the artificial engine sound through speakers! i hate them, especially bc they sound like every BMW since they had it
So is this the equivalent of the Lanica Delta HF Integarle , though this car is not been used in the WRC for now .
But I sure would , not mind getting my hands on one of these to try now at 54 things are much cheaper to insure.
Great to see some body producing a car like this in times like these.
Why 'shoudnt it exist' it's Sold out Now World Wide and TGEAR 10/10 on reviews.
I have always said from that start that this car would be Toyota's "sorry" for the new supra with its new BMW.. Oops, I meant with its new JZ3 engine and they did not compromise on perfection at all! Well done Toyota WE LIKE WHAT WE SEE IN THE GR!!!!!!
Dear Toyota, please bring this to the US. Not everyone wants to drive a boring pickup, Prius, suv/crossover or full electric vehicle. Some of us enjoy driving!
Your reviews are so good...
And the car should go to my garage. But I guess I'm too old for it. Subaru times are long gone...
Glad you enjoyed, Carlos!
Carlos, I am 53 and I just ordered one. You are never too old.....
Mario Botti ,
Thanks!
On a good day...
Mine should arrive in January, just in time for my 66th birthday 😁
Andy Lane ,
Congratulations!
Twice...
(...Made feel much younger)
This car doesn't exist. Not in the USA it doesn't. Toyota not bringing this car to the USA is the single biggest dick move in automotive history...
How would someone go about importing a Yaris GR to the US?
Toyota's most profitable market does not get this car. How is that fair?
Just simply wait 25 years! and it’s legal to import.
@@rightlanehog3151 Toyota North America thinks we all want suvs and left us with a boring Yaris based on a Mazda 2 platform which is unrelated to the rest of the world 😓
@@fabulousprofound Mercifully, Toyota dropped the Mazda Yaris for 2021. We may never see the GR Yaris but the Yaris Cross ought to arrive within the next year.
@@rightlanehog3151 wow I didn’t know that. I thought the Yaris Cross was a European market model only.
Can it be better than the old Glanza?
I would definitely want one in the u.s
Looks better than a veloster.
Was the car here the solid white option?
Yep, Pure Chamonix White
thanks for confirming - got same spec on order :)
