  • If you pull sumo style with deadlifts, here's an excellent warm up I first learned from elite powerlifter Micah Marino.

    This is great.
    Quite "special" but not very hard to set up or perform. I can also see that most people will be able to make this even without alot of ques.

    Great video! If you're getting under the barbell you might be doing sumo wrong . . .

    Ty for your quality videos!
    One question: how can I "wake up" / activate my glutes instead of my lower back taking over when doing DL? For some reason, this isn't a problem when I do single leg dumbbell DL (my glutes are fired/ activated and I have zero lower back pain), but when i do conventional DL or suitcase DL (both feet on the ground), my lower back overcompensates in the movement + glutes not firing enough?

      Perhaps you let the bar drift a lil bit from your body, or you go a little to deep with the bar?

    • @524RJ
      @524RJ 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@melanie4659 hmmm, let me try that. Hope that works...my lower back has been overcompensating for so long in these movements that I'm not sure where to start unlearning (to shut down lower back and activate the glutes)

    or you can just not do the deadlift at all and have no discs popping out when you are 30+ and problem avoided :)

    • @tripleaxetentacion
      @tripleaxetentacion 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Or you can do deadlifts in a safe manner with proper form without ego lifting and also have no discs popping out? In fact deadlifts can strengthen the back and help to prevent back injuries if done properly :)
