    As a former Z guy (3 variants), I just purchased the LC500 2024 edition as my new Z. Some months ago, I had purchased a 2017 Mazda MX-5 RF as my next Z and found it to be an excellent sports/luxury car blend that is very enjoyable to own and drive. I can recommend the MX-5 as the best sports car for the price point ($30-40K). I had previously reviewed and liked the LC500 but was annoyed by the electronics in the platform. And to my surprise, Lexus Corporate listened to the market and updated the infotainment for 2024. So the Miata is now going to find a new home and the LC500 has earned a spot in the garage. Having owned and driven many vehicles over my baby boomer life, the LC500 is the penultimate Lexus blend of GT/LS art/engineering and is actually priced well, with respect to the competition. I appreciate your review and agree with your comments. Stay safe and happy driving!

    As a guy in his mid 40's, this is the only car of modern times that when i saw it for the first time, i immediately thought "I want a poster of that on my wall" like a teenager. Coupe or drop top, it's one of the best looking cars of modern times.

  • @arrowheadftball
    @arrowheadftball 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +7

    People find the most arrogantly stupid reasons to dislike the LC500. It's absolutely never wrong when a buyer at this cars price point buys a car. Period. They can drive just about any car they want. They choose a LC500 for their own reasons. When you have 100k to 150k to finance or lease a vehicle. Someone else's opinions rarely matters. The buyers want high quality, reliability, comfort and performance. If you think otherwise you buy the Vette, GTR, Supra, or any other really fast car. Fast cars are built for arrogant people that don't understand the difference between having money and being wealthy.

    I bought my 2023 LC500 bespoke build in May even after knowing the 2024 would have a touch screen display. I find touch screen displays distracting and I prefer to keep my eyes on the road and just tell the car through voice commands and Apple CarPlay what I want it to do. The touchscreen also looks exactly as what it is - an afterthought and loses the elegance of the dashboards original design. Why does every reviewer forget to mention the climate concierge feature? The car has 10 sensors and knows if you need your steering wheel heated or cooled airflow on your back. Once set to your ideal temperature, you don’t have to change any settings again.

      @@CeeJay591 i'm replacing my 2022 lc convertible with 24 lc conv for that specific reason. i've already scratched the rims due to lack of visibility living in los angeles area. i own 22 nx 450h+ with the 360 camera as well and though the touch screen isn't so important to me(i actually prefer touchpad for not having to reach my arm so far to touch the screen), the camera is something i really want to keep my lc for long term.

    • @GlobalNomad-wy2sc
      @GlobalNomad-wy2sc ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I should mention that another major factor for me buying the 2023 model was the color combination. I definitely wanted a nightfall mica exterior with a toasted caramel interior. 2023 is the last model year for the nightfall mica exterior color. I also think the toasted caramel interior color really accentuates its true quality and elegance. My wife drives a Lucid Air Touring with a 360 camera on a huge screen display. We never use it. The parking sensors do the job which is why I didn’t give the camera to much weight in might decision. I also just wrapped the front of my car and ceramic coated it. I had to darken the tint on my windows because people would stare at me. Also, you should know that car enthusiasts and Porsche owners in particular will tail you because it’s an absolute beauty and so rare on the road.

    Lexus should have use a knob to control the multimedia screen like every other car manufacturer instead of that touchpad. The redesign with the screen mounted like that doesn't look right. @@blu_is500 my .2centS we had one LC in HPDE locally only one guy ran it here and it over heated in sports + mode ( kinda tells you what it's focus is ); I'm trying to get back in to get more on video this year at Sebring and Daytona. It's not hating it just is what it is. Personally there 400lbs heavier so weight doesn't lie especially to a TE it really not comparable on a track sessions it would get gapped by a F car ( probably any F car to be honest ) and eventually overheat in a hard HPDE session in Sports + mode. Thier not designed for hard track use like the F cars. Thus no trans cooler etc. Personally I would stay away from a track with a LC and enjoy it at Cars & Coffee and for what it is. It's just not a F car by design ask Scott Pruett who helped with the cars in your next session I'm hoping to catch him again in LPDS in 2024 when they announce the time frames. The RCF is a GT car to drive from track and back home the LC for the high way and road. A to put that weight into perspective a IS500 is faster than an LC in a straight line. The LC 500 is an amazing car but it's home is the streets and the roads where it excels not the track. Totally different purposes no right or wrong its just enginnering focus. I test drove a LC before buying a RC and its great street car but the RCF is the far better duel purpose car no questions asked. So removed that from a option for me personally. You can't go wrong with both but there clearly designed for different purposes and both excel better at their focuses. The LC hides its weight very well with ambience and atmosphere but it's the heaviest and slowest out of all the 2URs in my experience. But again its not designed to be the fastest nor designed for the track as much as a F its more SC then RCF in terms of reason for existing.

    The LC is a great looking car, However it needs AWD. Those of us in the North East would appreciate it in a GT car, Remeber its not a sports car.

    You want speed? Get a chevy, toyota, nissan, dodge and or Porsche. This is a GT car with out any aftter market support (at the moment). Who buys this car? Ppl who are not trying to keep up with modified civics with a laptop that's for sure (i own one so don't worry).
    Do you want to be in a different class? Meaning each cars has it own Identity. Well this is one of the cars with a identity that you can actually daily. TH-cam only scratches the Surface with a vehicle like this. If you can test drive one then you will see. Got dudes on here complaining about a car that is either out there price range or there either a guy who likes to build there cars. I love to build my cars too don't get mad at me. Yea we can sit here and say we want 550-600whp but then the car would be worth about 160k MSPR.
    Some dudes in here want wifes/girls friends with bigger boobs or ass but won't fork over the 20k for it so that simply means......live with it or find and new wife/girl
    (Car for those i have lost at this point😂)

    13:05 Id argue thats not true. The V8 is awesome, just as good as its competitors, and I've street raced my 22 coupe against many, new scatpacks, gt, ss, wrx, golf r, type r, jag F type, i made a 2 gen ago Z06 sweat, base 911, if you catch a GTR off guard you can snap their neck. I mean I've done all that on the street where it counts. Your paperwork and thoughts on the matter can kiss my a$s (not you other ppl).😆 Ive run from police twice in it which i never recommend in a car but i didn't want to stop. Usually I'm on my moto and i never do but that's another comment for another day.

      For the money, there are much quicker cars. It’s still fast and can get you in trouble quick but it’s not going to dust a 5 liter Mustang or any bmw M product these days, not the point of a grand touring car. I’d still take this v8 over any engine in an M car though.

      I’ve actually put my 2018 sport plus up against a 5 litre mustang in the Scottish highlands. Left it for dead. Maybe not as committed a driver tho, who knows? Was fun anyhow…

    Getting rid of the CD player (when CD's sound way better than streaming) and adding that ugly ass infotainment system that obstructs your view aren't improvements! The next "improvement" will no doubt be replacing the V8 with a twin-turbo 4 cylinder.

      It’s held back by relatively narrow tyres. Get a slightly oversized tyre, preferably a Michelin pilot S, on the standard rims, then heat the rears. Can hit 62mph in a bit over 4 seconds. In uk at 20 degrees I can still get 4.4 every time with my standard factory 2018 model. Not in BMW territory, but respectable for a fat cruiser.
