My favourite Christmas Hymn but it moves me to tears and I'm always minded of my late children when I hear it. I imagine them walking into Heaven to the strains of this being played. It's a beautiful song in every way both the lyrics and the music.
Very fantastic Hymn. I always feel very touching while singing this beautiful hymn. Directress is my Admirable person the Organist is one in a Million good fingering. God bless you all from Sierra Leone West Africa
quite literally the best version on TH-cam. every other one is so overproduced and distastefully modern. it is ASTONISHING how hard it is to find a good rendition of this song on this website or on streaming services. i truly wish this was higher quality, but it is beautiful as it is. another commenter noticed that one of the greatest qualities of this performance here is the lack of any indivualism; or egotistical showmanship. the emphasis is placed on harmony and synergy between all the musicians. perhaps this is one of the distinguishing qualities of all great religious music by virtue of religion itself, at least Christianity. altruism over ego. no great solos or sweeping vocal lines, no emphasized pop production, simply brothers and sisters playing in joy and reverence to the Lord. I do not mean to imply that this is the only kind of truly good music, but perhaps this form of musical deindividuation is most suited to songs of faith. this is music meant to be shared. and perhaps the reason this song is so scarcely done justice in professional production settings is that its true soul is only ever realized in obscure, ephemeral church services and Christmas parties. lost to time, but not in the hearts of those in attendance
Perfecto. As it was written. Perfect. If I want YOU to re-right it, I'll call you. Meanwhile sing it as written, because that is the song. No one asked you to change it.
What are you talking about??? This is as written, nothing in this video is different. In fact, this is the best version of this song on TH-cam. Listen to it again and reconsider your statement.
Angels we have heard on high Sweetly singing o'er the plains And the mountains in reply Echoing their joyous strains Angels we have heard on high Sweetly, sweetly through the night And the mountains in reply Echoing their brief delight Gloria, in excelsis Deo Gloria, in excelsis Deo Shepherds, why this jubilee? Why your joyous strains prolong? What the gladsome tidings be Which inspire your heavenly song? Gloria, in excelsis Deo Gloria, in excelsis Deo Come to Bethlehem and see Him whose birth the angels sing, Come, adore on bended knee, Christ the Lord, the newborn King. Gloria, in excelsis Deo Gloria, in excelsis Deo Yeah Gloria, in excelsis Deo Angels we have heard Angels we have heard on high Angels we have heard, oh Angels we have heard on high Angels we have heard on high Angels we have heard on high In excelsis Deo
Very very good, and especially because the choir hadn't inserted itself in front of everyone to be "noticed" as "performers" as too often sadly happens these days. We must decrease while He must increase...
Amen! As a former choir member, I hated when a new priest took us out of the choir loft and put us in the front of the church. It made me very uncomfortable and I didn't understand it because we had a beautiful choir loft with great acoustics and the sound just was not the same in the front of the church. I thought it was very Protestant to be in the front of the church and I am not a Protestant. Plus our commodious choir loft was replaced with congregational pews in the front of the church where we couldn't even hear each other. The priest said that having the choir in the front of the church encourages congregational participation and that was just a lie. I knew that the congregation was much more uplifted by the sounds from the loft. And to hear you say that to be in the front of the church emphasizes to be noticed as a performer is all too true. We are not there to be noticed but to give glory to God and being in a choir loft places us a little bit closer to heaven and I really think the angels joined us when we sang.
I also enjoyed the cymbelstern added on the last verse... What a wonderful rendition ... Appreciated... I would also appreciate some more videos from your church with its wonderful choir, outstanding organist, and directress extradinoire... I haven't seen any recent videos added to your site for some time... They were appreciated...
You know, I heard that percussion but was not sure what instrument it was. Thank you for pointing that out. It does make for a fine ending, without being obtrusive.

R.I.P.... May your children be in Heaven with the Angels...
Just curious but how did your children pass away before you?
May the peace, comfort, and love of god be with you this Christmas Day, and always.
I love this rendition. There's so much heart and soul in it!

This was sung during the 30 minute prelude that preceeds our Christmas Vigil Mass.

I agree 100%, all the instruments combined help it to be this way, one of my many favorite Christmas hymns.
Awsome , thanks for sharing

@@ARIZJOE The zimbelstern is actually part of the organ. The organist pulls a stop to activate it but does not play any keys for it.
very nice
Interesting conducting.
finally someone said it. 😂
Ryan Ferrigan more like horrid.
Yeah. This isn't 4/2 😂😂
Ryan Ferrigan is that what you call it??? 🤪🤪🤪
Am I missing something here? 2/2 seems a sensible time in which to conduct.
What a great performance. Please notice me
Angels We Have Heard On High - Gloria MP4
Is Joe Clarke still the Organist at the church, I enjoy listening to him play. What is the brand of Organ at the church how many ranks, and manuals?
🌠🌠👌👌
Awesome ! Are the director and organist still part of this Church?
Does your
Priest wear a cassock? It looks like a man or priest is in one in the beginning
When during the mass was this taken?
Is that a trumpet on the organ or a trumpet player?
+Devan Brandalick - That is a trumpet. He was standing just out of view of the camera.
jclarke527 sounds grand!!! God bless!
Where is church location ?
