Ive heard HKS is also pretty good! Its quite a bit more expensive thooo 😅 That is a a tough decision, cause yonaka is good but i think hks is a bigger brand….
@Project Goodspeed those Yonaka exhaust are really nice. I just installed it on my EK and was kinda afraid cuz I wasn’t sure how loud it would be if indeed it was loud but I did know I wanted something other than the stock exhaust. It fit perfect and sounds amazing. My tail pipe sits flush against the bumper. Doesn’t stick out and it does not hang under the car. The only issue I rant into was the bolts with the spring snapped and I had to get new ones but I had to figure out a way to compress the spring cuz the bolt wasn’t long enough to put it on without compressing the spring. The the exhaust has a 2.5” OD with a 4.25” tip. I have a 2000 EK. You say yours hangs, did you get the proper exhaust for your car?
Yeah they do sound nice!!! Yeahh believe me i asked myself the same thing after i found out it didnt quite match up. I tried it on with stock headers on too just incase my DC headers where the problem but nope. Still stuck out a bit, and still drooped a little by the shifter. I know theres a difference between the coupes and the hatchbacks, atleast according to yonakas website, maybe they justs sent the wrong one cause i know i ordered the hatchback one but honestly idk
@@projectgoodspeed yeah who knows maybe they did send the wrong one though I have seen some TH-cam videos where the Yonaka exhaust hung a bit and didn’t fit flush. I don’t remember if they were coupe or hatchbacks. Mine is a sedan. I got it cuz it was on sale on the Yonaka website from $599 to $449.
Yeah it was a really good price for mine too. Im probably gunna hit em up again and see if they can send another midpipe maybe a different diameter so i can fix it cause the one i got now was all mangled up by the guy who installed it…. (Welded it) Rookie!😅 or maybe attach a stock midpipe so it doesnt drag soo much.. idk yet
@@projectgoodspeed oh dude I would have been so pissed. I would have taken it back. I’m gonna see if I get some Eibach lowering springs w/ KYB struts/shocks. My brother said not to get coilovers cuz they have a stiffer ride. I hope he’s right lol.
Yeahhh its just gunna take some time but i think i can fix it..👍 and yeah my suspension is on both lowering springs and shocks and it is a little bit of a stiffer ride. The stock set up is DEFINITELY a lot smoother cause of the height. The shocks can only do soo much when your low, and im not even that low😅
That's on u.. I own a 2006 honda civic ex coupe 2 door 5 speed... My yonaka was installed by a shade tree mechanic and it's SUPER DUPER GOOD.. I don't have a header...(WHY WOULD I NEED ONE). MY CAR SOUNDS 🔥...WELDING THIS & WELDING THAT... MAN JUST GET RID OF THE HEADER OR GET A NEW CATALYTIC CONVERTER THAT DOESN'T NEED WELDING....
Yeahh you right, the header really isn’t all that, other than the looks and like the 10 pound difference from stock one…idk about power difference cause i really dont much anyways lol AND i knoww man all this WELDING stuff is annoying but thats how i bought the car…i really didn’t feel like buying a new CAT with new flanges just to install my exhaust. Sounds Expensive..😅
@sogonexd9130 From what i understand the exhaust isnt meant to stick out soo much but Mine does because my cat has welded on adapters so the spacing isnt exact… im not too sure on that but others have said it fits their civic just fine.
@@projectgoodspeed I appreciate you always replying! You said you live in California? By any chance you wouldn’t happen to know if your able to bar a jdm motor now a days in 2023 would you? 😅
@sogonexd9130 Thanks, i try too! Thats a good question thooo… California sucks at getting engine swaps its terrible. Im not exactly sure about that tbh. Off the top of my head id say NO because Cali sucks for car guys lol 😅but as long as the smog stuff is there i dont see why not?? Ofcourse try tellin them that!!!
@sogonexd9130 Siiiick!!! Im trynna eventually do a b18c1 swap myself but they taxing out here for a swap!!😅 i dont even know if theyll trip about the vin numbers..😂 hopefully not cause thats gunna be even more expensive!! I was gunna eventually give them a call and just ask since theres hella rules in cali… haha
Idk anymore at this point. If i try to flip it then i lose the even numbered gears due to clearance issues. If i reverse it then the hangers dont line up with the stock location….
Idk if it is but it looked like you where running a stock cat of some sort maybe aftermarket but not a test pipe but with a test pipe it’s a bit more aggressive Edit:I watched the rest of the video it’s a cat
Yeahh here in California we got too many laws about modified exhaust. If i remove the cat i cant pass smog, which means i can’t register it… B.S. honestly but it is what is😔
Why blast loud music when taking it on drive
i have the same broken AC climate control slider in my eg XD thanks for the video!
The mid pipe is upside down. The hooks are supposed to be on the bottom
I thought so too but when I flipped it, i couldn’t shift into 2,4, or R. My shifter hits the exhaust.
Yonaka on my d16y8 ebay headers, stock resonator 2.5 piping sounds great.nice sounds on the down shift
Definitely! Nice low rumble and pretty quiet at idle👍
@projectgoodspeed yes very nice at idle . I came across my exhaust on offer Up for $75
$75?? Thats a freakin bargain!! Siiick! Mine cost me waaayy more😅 its all good thoo, the sounds worth it👍
@@projectgoodspeed yeah it is . Now I'm debating if I should look for hks or get a yonaka for my crx

They hung your mid pipe upside down! The hangar bar across the resonator should be under the pipe, not on top!

@@projectgoodspeed your best option it to rotate it a the weld in the middle & leave the front flange position the same
@@projectgoodspeedis there a way to get the exhaust tip to not stick out so much or is there not much room to shorten the exhaust tip?
