Yeah dehancer pushes harder than any other film emulation. Filmbox is expensive but in my opinion the best. What really sold me was the clarity on their website and the fact that it doesn’t utilize color tools within DaVinci resolve. It’s also so straightforward and simple to use. Thanks for liking!
My goodnesss!!! This is by far the BEST!!!!!! example of getting the Film look and your demo was fire!!! Dehancer never sat well with me and it just made me feel like i was putting a mask on my footage. This is solid. Thank-you and once again as I always say, the smaller channels are the best!!!!! New sub!!
Yeah film box is the most expensive but also the most simple and I love that it’s not using tools within DaVinci to get the film look. It’s like its own color space in a way. Check out there site videovillage.com. I really appreciate the sub and compliment. It started my day off right!
@@TANZANIAFILMMAKINGTV the powergrade is mainly used from dctls purchased from mononodes.com and film box from videovillage.com so it really can’t be sent as a power grade unless you purchase all of these plugins.
its so easy to put a random image and criticize like the guy who commented about Dune below. You're providing so much value explaining your approach to film look and people can't say "thanks for showing how you do it". I think the film look can only look good when the cinematography is on point and your video showcase it very well. I've got a similar more affordable DCTL from another creator, very useful indeed! Although i love Filmbox (lite) , can't justify its full price at the moment. It really is the absolute best film emulation by far. I've been trying to replicate at least the colors from the lite version to use on 4K footage but its very difficult to do it. Would you mind sharing a Standard & Extended 250D luts for Arri Log C?
Thanks for subscribing! Yeah not enough people talk about film box because it’s pricey or because the company knows they are that good so they don’t need to advertise on TH-cam about it. Either way it is a dream to work with this product.
Shot this on dji ronin 4d with wireless transmission system and monitor. I use a bunch of different lights including amaran 60x, amaran 200xs, nanlite forza 60c w/projector mount, aputure mc and aputure mc pro. Other lights I use are aputure 600c pro, aputure p300c, and amaran 300c. Current go to lenses are the Rokinon cine v-af lenses including 24,35,45, and 75 mm.
@@JanikBrosFilms The footage in these lighting conditions look amazing. Wow. I'm already invested in my Sony FX3 system, but this Ronin 4D is looking really good. Nice work, man!
@@RHC_NYC yeah the ronin 4d is insane but the fx3 is really a great camera. By the way noting in my intro is natural lighting. It’s all lights. is there enuf time in my lifetime to do this for every frame for every shot with a person in it? even if not for everyframe - for every person with skin ?
Oh yeah. Scatter is amazing. It really is that little extra touch of diffusion that adds that magic to your shot. I pretty much use it all the time. You can dial in the focal length and make highlight adjustments to each diffusion. It just very accurate

@14:40 hey bro can you explain why you converted “gamma” to linear to lower the details? I’ve never seen anyone do that extra step to lower details. Is this specific to your project settings? Thx for your insightful tips btw. Subbed!
I got this tip from a pro colorist on TH-cam Cullen Kelly. Switching to linear is great for a more subtle change it also works great for changing gain and lift.
Yeah it’s expensive for a reason. Its film box is not technically a dctl. It does not use tools within DaVinci resolve to get its color which is cool. It’s probably the most expensive but I didn’t want to push another film emulation if I know what is the best! I got a year subscription for 350 which is better than the proprietary for 1000. It really is worth it honestly.
@JanikBrosFilms I don't know if you would be interested but I found another pretty nice film emulation and dctl set called Deluts filmtone 3 for davinci resolve which is extremely well priced....it may be worth checking out
