It looks very versatile and sounds great - the big negative for me, though, is the battery life-span of the P2 (and the bluetooth footswitch). There doesn't seem to any easy way to replace the rechargable battey so the unit seems to be destined to end up in landfill after a few years.
Time to upgrade my Zoom 9002🤔 (which yes I do have). Guitar kit and tech has gone into hyperspace I the last 5 years. What a time to be (just) alive having entered my 7th decade....as always came for the great presentation, the gear is a bonus.
Exactly this! I actually started out on a Zoom 505 myself! Translucent green, I loved it. Never imagined it’d get to this in my lifetime. Thanks for watching!
Great stuff mate, but I haven’t yet broken the P1 that you made me buy, despite dropping it onto a hard floor several times. Whoops there it goes again !
I always wondered: What if there was a way to sample the "Isolated" guitar/bass parts individually off of a recording and "Capture" a sound that way. That would be neat IMO. Some of these tones kind of sound like that.
As an iOS compatible sound card with stereo out and midi it’s not bad (but there’s cheaper options) but you add 3rd party IR (stepping on the toes of helix and Kempler) you are starting to get somewhere.. 80mind of loop time! That is colossal.. now you need a foot switch so another expense so all in you are nearer 300 sheets… that’s pedal board territory.. tough price point. I was hoping to pick up a p1 cheap.. now I have my sights on a p2!
Hi, newly subscribed acoustic player here. Isn't this pedal & app a positive grid Spark copy (minus the amp) which is ok but how does this pedal work with an acoustic, have you tried it?
So we've reached the point where digital analysis and then replication of any old piece of analogue gear is simple and relatively cheap in a weeny little box. Truly amazing! It seems the difficult bit is designing the interface to be versatile and wildly enabling, yet user-friendly, intuitive and reliable. That's what will differentiate the successful products from the also-rans. I'm interested to know how this compares with the GTRS guitar? Could (will?) you use either or even both at once for a live gig or do they get in each other's way, especially if you only have one phone to rule them all?
I know, it is insane isn’t it when you compare what we had when we were younger. The reality of these products for me is that yes I could use them live with BXRRELL, but I need more control on the floor. I like to be able to see the name of this song, preset I am on and the BPM of the tempo et cetera. If me and Gab were doing a coffee shop set down the road, then I could absolutely use this or even the GTRS and have a couple of presets on the pedal no problem. And it would sound exactly as you just heard, with no back ache.
