    It looks very versatile and sounds great - the big negative for me, though, is the battery life-span of the P2 (and the bluetooth footswitch). There doesn't seem to any easy way to replace the rechargable battey so the unit seems to be destined to end up in landfill after a few years.

      I am assuming you could find a friend technician that can open this and change the battery cells, I got a friend that can do those miracles.

    Time to upgrade my Zoom 9002🤔 (which yes I do have). Guitar kit and tech has gone into hyperspace I the last 5 years. What a time to be (just) alive having entered my 7th decade....as always came for the great presentation, the gear is a bonus.

      Exactly this! I actually started out on a Zoom 505 myself! Translucent green, I loved it. Never imagined it’d get to this in my lifetime. Thanks for watching!

    I got one with pedal a couple months ago. Fired it to practice for tomorrow. Imagine my surprise when it linked with my phone and the message popped up "Please upgrade the firmware to the latest version via MOORE STUDIO computer software". Glad I wasn't at a gig! I can't loop, no drums, no setting changes. Went online for hours and couldn't find updates. I'll sell mine cheap if your interested!

    As an iOS compatible sound card with stereo out and midi it’s not bad (but there’s cheaper options) but you add 3rd party IR (stepping on the toes of helix and Kempler) you are starting to get somewhere.. 80mind of loop time! That is colossal.. now you need a foot switch so another expense so all in you are nearer 300 sheets… that’s pedal board territory.. tough price point.
    I was hoping to pick up a p1 cheap.. now I have my sights on a p2!

    Isn't this pedal & app a positive grid Spark copy (minus the amp) which is ok but how does this pedal work with an acoustic, have you tried it?

      No bass or acoustic guitar settings are on the P2 like the original P1. Maybe a future firmware update?

  • @justletmepostthis276

    I always wondered: What if there was a way to sample the "Isolated" guitar/bass parts individually off of a recording and "Capture" a sound that way. That would be neat IMO. Some of these tones kind of sound like that.

      @@SpedSpedding
      Not so much distracted as, it's another device, (out of many many devices), that cause me to step aside for an extended period of time, from the thing I liked about what I was doing in the first place. It's pretty much like going to school. Ultimately, I find myself using about 5% or less of what I was fiddling around with or more likely, entirely cast aside for something that gets used far more. I can't rate it but practicality causes me to follow my instincts. As usual, it sounds amazing in your hands and you're doing a dandy job of showcasing it's capabilities.

    • @SpedSpedding
      @SpedSpedding  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@michaelogden5093I get you. I guess if you don’t need that much then yeah, it might feel like overkill. The portability and functionality even for the 5% use is still mind blowing though. Easier than packing a massive amp for a few nights away. 😂 Some of the tones I was getting at the end, I was like 😮😮😮 “woah.”

    So we've reached the point where digital analysis and then replication of any old piece of analogue gear is simple and relatively cheap in a weeny little box. Truly amazing!
    It seems the difficult bit is designing the interface to be versatile and wildly enabling, yet user-friendly, intuitive and reliable. That's what will differentiate the successful products from the also-rans.
    I'm interested to know how this compares with the GTRS guitar? Could (will?) you use either or even both at once for a live gig or do they get in each other's way, especially if you only have one phone to rule them all?

    • @SpedSpedding
      @SpedSpedding  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I know, it is insane isn’t it when you compare what we had when we were younger. The reality of these products for me is that yes I could use them live with BXRRELL, but I need more control on the floor. I like to be able to see the name of this song, preset I am on and the BPM of the tempo et cetera. If me and Gab were doing a coffee shop set down the road, then I could absolutely use this or even the GTRS and have a couple of presets on the pedal no problem. And it would sound exactly as you just heard, with no back ache.

    Im thinking of grabbing one of these as a back up pedalboard. I mainly use an acoustic for live looping and would ideally like this for gigs without power...

      I know you don't like the product from the other comment and that's ok, to each their own. But I've never been one to hoard, so if I'm not using something in a few months I will happily sell on at a fair price. I'd much rather someone being playing and loving something than it collecting dust. You can't deny the P2 offers you an absolute beast load of features with complete portability. A few years back I was travelling a lot and teaching. I'd cart a little amp with me because that's all I had at the time, I would have killed for this! Hope you continue to enjoy whatever setup you've got at home but like I said, just because it's not for you doesn't mean it's a bad product right?

I have a pedalboard for gigging ,but for teaching I use a NUX Cerberus straight into a 10w amp. No laptop, no phone, no downloads etc. I say that's way more practical. ....80....minutes....on the looper? I could make the most complex hard to follow stress inducing musical experiment ever.. they should just put this in a box buy a cheap android board and put it in there make it where you can connect to a 12 button footswitch and then just weve made it. Thats everything. Im not an appy phone guy bc when i like something they stop carrying support for it so if they just put it in a box for the same price with a cheap a$$ 480p lcd screen id buy 2.

    Sponsored by Mooer - so dont show any potentail latency issues with switching presets - aka, not really a functioning pedalboard

    • @SpedSpedding
      @SpedSpedding  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +12

      You’d find latency swapping between presets on a fractal unless you’d set up scenes within. Even some amps have slight delays on the channel change. I didn’t find the latency on this device to be at all concerning. Sponsored by Mooer yes. This is part of how I make my living.

    Nothing worse than companies making presets that are not named after the actual song. They should follow the Tonebridge example and actually name presets properly.....

      @SpedSpedding  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I don’t mind them being a bit of a mystery, it makes me use my brain more. Some of the presets are named after songs like Electric Gypsy for example, maybe it’s a legal thing? All the presets are diverse and pretty cool though so I’m happy!

      I found it pretty easy to navigate. Granted I'm experienced with the Prime P1 and the GTRS but everything is laid out pretty neatly. It offers a lot in a little package and the touch screen definitely makes it clearer and easier to use without needing your phone out the whole time which is nice!
