- The Consumer Price Index rose 0.4% last month largely due to the cost of rent and gas. Prices are up 3.5% over the past 12 months, and the latest numbers cast doubt on interest rate cuts. CBS News business analyst Jill Schlesinger has more.

Inflation has to be pretty bad it they are admitting that the numbers are worse than expected. Every month they put out number and then quietly revise them later.

Interest rate hikes don’t work when all the money being made is going to 5 people. You have to control the prices being charged by all the monopolized corporations.
Making interest higher won’t stop people paying rent and buying food. Maybe avoiding restaurants, but people still spend on necessities and interest rates won’t change rent and groceries.

Biden and Co. have and have had the ball now for a good bit now, the inflation is their responsibility to try and take on. They are either too inept to fix it or they are dead set with the intent to not fix it BUT it sure is nice/an easy cop out to say "but hey, the other guy won't do 💩 about this problem". What a weak reasoning for people to hang onto to justify their own comfort of continuing to vote for the party that this has occured under due to them voting out of pure hatred for the other guy vrs holding the current administration responsible for their part in this mess.
And no need to imply that Bidenomics is something that Trump supporters, or anyone else, came up with. The President himself says it like it's a good thing, people are just being respectful and giving credit where credit is due and wanted.

The rate has been increased something like 11 times in the past two years. Trump isn't going to cut any spending, anymore than Biden would.
