Now, there's a $15 minimum wage and increased school taxes with a new enhanced teacher pay tax. Sounds great, for inflation. School funding has quadrupled in two years and is exempt from the 10% tax cap. Hence, the usery 18% increase. No wonder landlords are raising rents.

    Imagine if everyone cut back! I used to make my spaghetti with sausage, bell peppers, onion, mushrooms, garlic, Italian herbs, garlic, diced tomatoes, and spaghetti sauce. Last time I made it I used diced tomatoes, salt, onion powder, Italian herbs, and garlic. Jimmy Dean sausage finally went on sale but not till after I found a recipe I like that is so much easier and cheaper.
    Soda went up! I drink a lot less of it. I drink more water and make sweet tea at home. The tea bags are great value and so is the sugar!
    I buy things when they are on sale. Aldi has good fruit and vegetable prices. I stock up on whatever is cheap. I buy meat on sale at Ingles. I found large reduced price whole chickens for $5. They were half price. I also got ground beef, boneless chicken, pork chops, ribs, and sirloin steak. This way, I don't have to pay full price. Ingles had a beautiful head of cauliflower for $1.49. It's over $3 at Walmart. It needed to be used that day. It became my lunch. I chopped it up and roasted it with spices and olive oil. It wasn't planned but turned out great. People need to learn to flexible. You might want steak and shrimp and end up with roasted chicken, mashed potatoes, and cornbread. Buy what's on sale and what's in season.
    I buy off the clearance shelf. Cheap pastry, salad dressing, crackers, beef jerky, ... Just whatever. But so many people feel too privileged to make sacrifices.

    I always buy groceries on sale and stock up. Check the flyers every week, they're available online. I buy 2% reduce fat gallon of milk from Target for $2.79 (everyday price), Shoprite had sale last week on Sara Lee Bread for $2 per loaf (bread freezes great, stock up), Hannaford has pasta on sale this week for .89 per 16oz box, etc. etc. I stock up every week on sale items and pay less. Shop and spend wisely.

    • @jercasgav
      @jercasgav หลายเดือนก่อน

      Truth is Trump contributed to a LOT of the spending that got us here. Biden is worse obviously, but Trump overspends WAY too much too. Some of what we are feeling now happened during Trump's term. Even when we stop spending it won't bring prices back down, it will just stop it infinitely increasing. I am voting RFK Jr. He is the only one advocating we stop the insane spending.

  • @lindadorman2869
    @lindadorman2869 หลายเดือนก่อน +9

    You can't compare spending to 2020/2022. Life was different during the pandemic. If consumers keep overspending and building up debt, inflation will continue. When they learn to live within their budget and refuse to spend more, demand will decrease and prices drop. My budget has not changed since I became debt-free and plan to stay that way. If I can't afford it, I go without. It's going to be a rude awakening for people who can't manage their money.
