Awesome video! Japanese gloves are legit for sure. Many American brands try to replicate features of Japanese gloves, but fall short when it comes to the materials and craftsmanship. Props to Jax for coming out with gloves that are actually made in Japan.

Leather is buttery, but I found it to be thinner than a hoh or a2000. My least favorite out of the Rawlings, Wilsons, Maruccis, and Mizunos I've owned.
When I look up Jax baseball gloves a separate company with a completely separate logo called Jax 56 pops up. The logo isn’t the script Jax is an odd looking X. Very confusing
if you're on the small side I'd say something like a Rawlings R2G HOH PRO-200 or a Wilson A1000 1786. Bigger side I'd say get a Wilson A2000 1786 or 1716. Rawlings would be a HOH PRO-200 but avoid R2G
Ok just wondering I thought Rawlings making that a option is pretty cool I looked up online and saw nobody with one even on TH-cam but everything’s on youtube
I’d go with BPB, what I’ve learned is that BPB is actually better for the leather. With that being said conditioning your glove is better than not doing it at all!
I have a problem with dipping the glove. If you get water in the finger stalls, it is almost impossible to get them to dry out completely. You are much better off pouring hot water over the outer shell and pocket/palm and keep water out of the inside of the glove.
Mr Mikey sir. Just a suggestion but maybe consider not making controversial comments on topics you are not educated in. With that being said, using your glove is a great way to break a glove in. Using the water dip method helps you reach the point of using a glove sooner. Have a splendid day Mr.
I agree with allowing the leather to dry for at least 48 hours. The problem with dipping is that most modern day gloves have a lot of man made materials (i.e. foam, felt, etc.) that are very difficult to get dried in 48 hours. I have been repairing and breaking in gloves for the last 40 years. While I agree that wetting the leather using hot water is probably the fastest way to mold the pocket, form other aspects of the glove and loosen up the lacing, I wouldn’t recommend dipping modern gloves.
There’s so many bro! I think it’s best to learn what your favorite pattern is not necessarily the brand. Like if you love a one hinge flat glove. There’s a ton of glove brands that will have a glove you love
So this Jax is a real Japanese glove and it shows. It’s one of the best gloves I own. To be clear Jax is an American brand who found a Japanese manufacturer
44 Japan select is not Japanese. It’s shaped like a Japanese glove which is cool but it has no other similarities to Japanese glove’s. This Jax is far better in overall quality
@@ballgloveking thank you i was looking for it yesterday trying to find it for catchers gloves. keep up the good work i love the channel and watch every video
It’s confusing but that isn’t the right comparison. It’s more like the difference between a 44 and a HOH. The difference isn’t the leather it’s the quality in all the materials used + how it’s put together
Hey that was a great video. I have a glove that is broken in but no the way that I like. The way the web closes I don’t like. I have tried to fix it myself. Is there anything you could do? I don’t have enough money for it tho😭 Thanks.
IMO, 44 quality is very inconsistent. I have three 44 gloves (pitcher, outfielder, and a catchers mitt). From a scale from one to ten (ten being perfection), the outfielder glove is an eight/nine, the pitcher's glove is a six/seven and the catchers mitt is a two (nearly unusable). Since Pro44 gloves are customized, I don't think I can return the catchers mitt for refund. To minimize risks, I will be sticking with the major glove brands (Wilson, Rawlings, etc.). Best wishes to you in your glove search.
I just bought a new baseball glove and I watched a couple of your break in videos like the one where you tried the new warm water technique and it worked perfectly. Thank you.
Do you still like/trust Sarna conditioner? I know you work with ballplayer balm but would like to know cuz I just got a new glove and a still half full bottle of sarna lol
Just have to say, we invested in the Jax EN-7. It’s OUTRAGEOUS. I don’t mean to be overzealous. It’s stunning. A uniquely deep ish pocket. Fast glove. It’s a fighter.
How does this glove compare to Mizuno in terms of comfort compared to a Mizuno pro or a pro preferred? Also, is an American custom Mizuno lower quality than a Japanese custom Mizuno?
i have a all star catchers mitt it’s broken in enough to squeeze it but it doesn’t close even i need help how to re shape it so it closes even not like a infielders glove
Do you have experience with ambidextrous pitching gloves? I bought a rawlings gamer ambidextrous glove for $120 plus tax and shipping which the price wasn't bad but wasn't happy with the pattern. The webbing is right in the middle while i noticed wilson and 44 has webbing on each side of the middle. It is designed to form 2 pockets. Do you know any other patterns or options?
I had a question I broke in my glove two in the pinky and it closes but when I try to close my glove the traditional way it’s still stiff and doesn’t close easily does that mean my glove is still not broken in?
While on the topic of Japanese gloves, would you be willing to do a video on the rubberball HoH/Pro Preferred Rawlings Japan Spec gloves? Would be interesting to see just how different they are from the HoH/PP we’re used to
That Jax JDM made glove looks solid, want the OF model! Question is what factory is making these? As someone in private equity/VC and a glove nerd, going to a price point north of $400 this early will not fare well for this brand. I don't know the margins to be had but I'm taking bets

how long of lace strand do i need to relace a2000
After the water treatment did you let it sit for a couple days to completely dry out or did you use it at all during that time?
So I dip it then do a bunch of mallet work and hand work with it.
After that it dries for 48 hours before touching it again
What would be a good glove for middle school middle infielders? Love the videos!

What was it about Sarna that turned you away somewhat? I read up on the ingredients in Sarna and I am not too keen on the DMDM Hydantoin in it.
I have a problem with dipping the glove. If you get water in the finger stalls, it is almost impossible to get them to dry out completely. You are much better off pouring hot water over the outer shell and pocket/palm and keep water out of the inside of the glove.
Or, do absolutely none of this nonsense and just use the glove. Guaranteed to break it in AND form to your hand.
it'll dry, I give about 48 hours to let it fully dry
