What a piece of work. I laughed, cried, got anxious, felt surprised, and nerded out too many times to count. Highly recommend the audiobook too. The narrator is amazing and really brings the amazing characters to life.
This story has the potential to be among the greatest. Please guys do justice to this brilliant imagining. The courtroom scene must be in the trailer...I can't wait...
@@roshansri1636 I'd like it as a mini series. There's too much there that gets slowly revealed over time. Cramping that in 2 hours would lose a lot I think
Incredible book. I loved the Martian and it is my #1 SF book of all times. Project Hail Mary is my #2! I do not dish that lightly, since I felt that Artemis was really lame!
@@roshansri1636 SPOILER ALERT ******* Firstly, was letting Rocky into his ship without a second thought about OPSEC. Throughout the book Ryland never gave a second thought about his constant oversharing and getting LITTLE in return. This was not how biologists and chemists I worked with operate. We are very secretive of our pet projects. We hide our BEST research in the minutia of more mundane publications to keep our competition, who double as our peer review board, from finding out what we are really coming upon. I would have insisted on quid pro quo by getting a tour of Rocky's ship (in a ball of Ryland's own) before letting Rocky in at all. I would have pretended to not understand fully how my equipment worked. His agreeing to fork over a full laptop was absolutely too much. At that point Ryland agreed to treason. Remember what Ryland put on it. Then Ryland never made more 'Beatles" to bring the cure and technology home. So instead of sending home four Beatles, hoping at least one would make it, he allowed all of our safety to be relegated to the luck of one Beatle. Unforgivable! He had time, supplies and Rocky to make more Beatles to send, even with updates of his survival, but he never even considered it. Instead he gave a cookie cutter speech, common to defectors of democracy as to why they 'fled' to communism. Seriously, he was nearly point for point. Lastly, was the cannibalism. We KNOW he is a biologist and had our genome and many of our animal's genomes. If he could make himself, he could have made other meats. As a Biologist I know we have the technology now but we have to pretend to be more ignorant in the future? Please...
@@gregorybrown4062 ...Spoilers Maybe I'm misremembering but I thought he sent off several beatles after having repaired them? But yeah, if I was going to decide to save the aliens and live on their planet I'd maybe teach them some basic science, give them some of our music, etc. I wouldn't give them a laptop with a full history of our planet including our many, many fuck-ups and atrocities against one another. I think the aliens might build a pretty poor impression of us with an unrestricted laptop.
"The Martian" was a great and brilliantly told story. "Project Hail Mary" is better.
the ending though
@@blenderee2414 ending was beautiful wym?
Amaze!
@@Hjerez17 The ending really felt like Interstellar, I love it!
I've never been so excited over a book before. I guess I owe it to The Martian, both the novel and film.
What a piece of work. I laughed, cried, got anxious, felt surprised, and nerded out too many times to count. Highly recommend the audiobook too. The narrator is amazing and really brings the amazing characters to life.
Heard the audio book. One word for it - AMAZE !
AMAZE! GOOD GOOD!
Jazz hands! (People who haven't read it will be confused lol)
Why you leaking. Question?
Can confirm, amazing book. Highly recommended the audiobook too.
I think the audiobook is probably better when you see how a certain boxing hero's speech was presented compared to the text.

"Grace Question?"
So excited for the book! Thing is that allegedly a movie adoption of it is already in the works, supposedly starring Ryan Gosling!
This book is amazing! Loved every bit of it!
Hail Mary, full of Grace.
Super excited for May 4th!
There are trailers for books now!?
There have been for years
So excited for this!
