@@novagroup2 no, because the old top rail didn’t have a cutout specific to the ACRO. With the original, you’d still need to use a low mount which adds some height, and then find low height 1913 BUIS that also will cowitness. This Pro update eliminates the need to find BUIS that work and gets rid of the need for the optic mount, which is additional weight savings, and it’s all closer to the centerline of the bore, with fewer screws/parts and failure points. The aluminum top half also adds rigidity to the whole assembly, for whatever that’s worth. It’s still, of course, an insane price, and I would never buy one for what B&T or their army of lecherous dealers are asking. It’s an $600 gun with a $50 top rail, at best.
I hadn’t seen the new hub collar until this video and yeah- that’s by far the biggest win here in my book. No longer need to buy a can that’s literally only for one firearm. (I do have some rifles that have cans that live on them but for some reason that’s always given me pause with the TP9).
ACRO footprint is...interesting Would have made more sense for a small 1913 section for mounting an absolute co-witness T2, AEMS, Romeo4T, etc. ACRO just seems like a compromise dot for pistols bc of the form factor but if you aren't limited to a pistol frame, just why?
Sidegrade more than upgrade, sounds like. Real question: if I want a PDW that can be easily and readily suppressed, should I buy a TP9 or a Flux Raider (X or 365)? I like the PDW concept, but I can for sure only afford *maybe* one of those.
@@novagroup2 if you’re not using it with night vision, the sunken dot simplifies sight mounting. If you are using it with night vision the raised rail helps with passing aiming. Given that the gun comes with a cover plate for the built-in ACRO-pattern optic cutout, you can configure it for one or the other and switch back and forth as desired. Just means less funky high height mounts to buy for the end user, since you could take a standard lower 1/3 optic off another platform and put it directly on the new TP9 pro and be good to go without any additional riser or other bullshit.
If you're making a new rail from scratch, it costs nothing to integrate those sights into the new rail. Batteries die. Glass cracks. Electronics malfunction. Always nice to have back up irons in a pinch.
My biggest question is what can you mount on the back of that top rail that won't interfere with that new charging handle? I'm thinking of nods nerds who want a high mount optic in the rear and an IR device up front.
@@arsenal_616 with the new side rails you could just put a 1913 rail section and side mount a LAM and then push the optic in front of the charging handle. On the old TP9 the side rail was so close to the top rail it could cause clearance issues between devices but now that the top rail is raised that’s less of an issue unless you’re putting an optic and a LAM which are both extremely low mounting and wide. (I.e.- stock folds to the right, LAM on the left side, light on the right side above where the stock folds, barricade stop or vert grip on the rail space attached to the suppressor collar, or put an axon tapeswitch on the section of rail with the vert grip behind on the pistol itself and control everything that way. Lots of potential options for configuration that weren’t as possible before.
@ the old polymer top piece definitely wouldn’t either. You can always just bolt the rail section into place with some other type of clamp hardware besides MLOK if you think the t-nut’s will back out or come loose. Or mount the LAM to the rail section on the collar and then push the EOTech or other optic where the LAM would have been on the receiver. Some zero deviation is probably acceptable given the short distances that a PDW like this would be used at. (The shift would be measured in fractions of an inch instead of many inches within 50m, maybe imperceptible within 20 feet or the end of a hallway.)
@@novagroup2 not enough space for an AR-15 trigger group in the gun, it would have to be like those 3D printed receivers that convert it from a mag-in-grip format to an MP5K looking analogue (at which point you might as well have just bought a CMMG or something instead of this expensive thing)
@@noelwatters8165 my local B&T dealer has been able to order them for almost a year now. None in the shop because there’s been no interest from customers.
It really pisses me off that they claim a new and improved trigger and all they did was add a flat blade trigger. THAT IS NOT A NEW AND IMPROVED TRIGGER. FFS 🤦🏼♂️
my god what a dud. like, B&T really barely tried with this one. the charging handles location means you can't mount anything bigger than a pistol RDS above it due to how close it is and anything you mount there interferes and prevents you from racking it to load, the Acro mount is dumb when you can just mount an Acro or literally anything else by using a pic rail plate or riser, it's cowitness height means you can't mount anything on the top rail or else it obstructs your sights, the only cool thing was the new hub adaptor, but otherwise this "Pro" is frankly a downgrade from the standard TP9/MP9. they did all that and still haven't made a lower reciever with integral M-LOK forend slots on the 3, 6, and 9 o'clock positions. (having even more slots on the 45d's might be too much to fit without making it a chonkus) I rate it a 4/20 because B&T has to be smokin' to consider this an improvement.
Yeah....small mostly unnecessary changes with same expensive price. Assuming 1-2 years to release and another 1-2 years to get QC handeled, the PSA X9 is where my PDW hopes lie.
@caseyschryber1255 ...One of several options to change an existing system to an aftermarket system. I'm not saying this option or the others don't have use, l just would personally prefer a purpose built ground up PDW.
@ as far as I’m concerned it’s the only option! Unless you want a p320 going off in your duty holster and shooting someone :). I see your point though, but to me the pricing versus the actual function don’t match. At the end of the day, they’re the same barrel length and shoot the 9mm cartridge
The Acro footprint will date this horribly. The charging handle looks to be incompatible with wider dots like EOTech. The MLOK exposes a great deal of the internals. Like their new AR-15, it doesn't seem to do anything better. They won't produce a TP380 but they'll put an entire titanium handguard into production that offers no benefits over existing aluminum and likely weighs more.
@@MrShortanswer only market would be for police who still issue .380 handguns and have large stockpiles of .380, or countries where 9mm is banned for civilians.

Flux 365s are the new meta choice for that.
Hub bravo is the standard rifle thread. Charlie is the larger thread found on the hybrid 46m. Alpha thread is the smaller pistol one.

Yeah, yeah, but bro, you should really check out the new Tp9 Pro!
How would you feel about the Acro if they used one of the other optics that actually has a reasonable window size?
it depends. The whole concept is flawed imo, because a shrouded dot on a raised rail is no different than just having the rail lower like before.
In feed ramp changes to fix the hollow point feed issues?
Why qd mount above the stock not below? No interest in the Acro so prefer a flat top.

that's my thoughts, I don't quite understand the point tbh.
