    I think the skull feature in the unused lighthouse would be perfect for the bottom level of your sea cabinet! I imagine it’s one of the mysteries of the deep that both your diving crew and your villains are searching for! In addition, the light leakage in the chimney is fitting considering the age of most lighthouses, the brickwork is bound to have cracks from being on an eroding island for decades

  • @chainchompsrule
    @chainchompsrule ปีที่แล้ว +6

    I like the idea of using the scooby-doo lighthouse in the fairground! It reminds me a lot of those walk-through mirror maze/obstacle course attractions you see at the fair!

  • @icemorons5678
    @icemorons5678 ปีที่แล้ว +11

    Nice addition to Brick Nottingham!! If you are not liking the light leakage from the cottage, perhaps you can relocate the 2nd LED into the lighthouse itself, doubling it up in order to brighten the rotating beacon?

    • @RobinHoodBricks

      I'm not sure that'd work as it needs to be lined up perfectly!

  • @SK-qd4sr

    I would turn the white portal crane around (towards the red freight ship), because on the lighthouse side of the pier will be no space to moor and load a ship (except the small fishing boat).

    • @RobinHoodBricks

    To be clear, it was a wren, not a parrot, but other than that, you're entirely right about the lighthouse keeper's cat near New Zealand. The specific species is the Stephen's Island Wren.

    You could still find an area for the Scooby-Doo set and have it used as an older lighthouse that has become a maritime museum. A town near me, Port Washington has two lighthouses. An old retired one on a hill which is now a museum and the more modern one which is out on Lake Michigan near the breakwaters and the entrance to the port.

  • @rbleisem
    @rbleisem ปีที่แล้ว +1

    You could always put the Scooby Doo one, near the TMNT hideout, that way you can turn it into a defunct river lighthouse, for river boats.
    But you would need to finish the back side, though, unless that's rock.
    Let them use it and be the reason it's haunted.

  • @guleri
    @guleri ปีที่แล้ว +2

    The lighthouse from Scooby Doo looks very nice, but I think you chose right, as this is probably the best Lego lighthouse ever produced. I hope to afford it sometime in the not too distant future, but for now I am thinking of combining two of the Hidden Side ones to make one that has walls all around.

    • @RobinHoodBricks

  • @chrischristiansen6204

    My thought for the Scooby Doo light house is to append it to the other one. Covering the treasure area with the skull door thing would be a nice use of that build piece. Expanding the island a bit with the little light house more damaged and almost into the sea as though it was falling into the sea which would enhance the haunted aspect. The little striped light could be put up on the mid level turn near the bottom hand rail. After seeing the space available maybe have the damaged one coming out of the water to insinuate that it was as tall as the new one but the rest of it is submerged. Maybe a bit of an angle to it like we did with the ferarri tower?
    Maybe the cave bit is exposed due to part of the island sinking off and taking the old light house with it thus requiring the new light house to be built. A bit of platform outside the cage door leading to the wooden stairs going up the outside toward the top could look pretty cool. Or a brick built ruined version of part of the stairs. The lower door could be removed and some bits of brick filled in to create a damaged/cracked look to that side. The hinge bit at the top trap door could be used to add further tilt to that bit. The keep out sign could be placed near the top or on the balcony to ward off boats due to the danger of hitting something.
    Maybe the clue under the boards could be with a bit of rock between the light houses as part of the rubble from the collapse. The open back could then arguably be the result of damage. I do think that the placement near the wall to get that light effect is a lovely little accident that really enhances the build. The shadows that the lighthouse casts on the wall help it stick out from the white of the wall a bit too which is nice. Another way to break up the flatness of the blue plates would be just putting a few random blue strips to suggest gentle variation. It doesn't look like we have much room between the pier bit and the light house. Does it go right up to the pier? For other boats going into the area due to the packed space maybe two of them could have a scene of arguing minifigs due to one ship bumping another.

    The small set after you MOC it maybe a kids’ thing near your beach? Or a very small facade somewhere as it is too good not to have in.

    I honestly think that you should modify the cave to give it a more justification to give it the name grim’s mouth like some large sharp shark teeth that was imbedded into the cave. The Scooby-Doo one would be a good fit for a fairground ride, but I wonder if it could fit in the other corner or next to dr. Inferno’s dock lair as a old abandoned lighthouse where it’s falling apart! It’s a cheap location for a evil organization to locate and a sweet alibi for insurance claims!!

    Looks great, and agree it really finishes that side of the city. It does blend into the wall a bit as you mentioned - would it be better to change alternating layers from white to red bricks?

    Are you sure it's safe there Robin??
    I think a couple of red stripes are needed because it's blending into the wall.

      LEGO Creator Lighthouse Island 5770 is the official name. It was released back in 2011. It can be rebuilt into a restaurant and a boathouse.

    Good day Robin. The light house. Yes. I have the old creator red and white light house with light up brick with little house next to it and wail build the Scooby do light house yes. I was going to go with that one or Ninjago light house but. Then Sean the creator old one and as it's red and white it reminds me of the old school one s you would cee in 70 s and 80 s. .it's sorted like the Scooby doo one.
