Update: watch received a couple of days ago. It's as nice IRL as I hoped, and then some. Unfortunately I didn't get the alarm clock and the travel pouch. Oh well.
I was thinking the same 1973rs unite! But I already got my bday ones: Seiko SCVS003 (preSarb) and a SWC Ark GMT. But will put this on my short list for Xmas!
I am surprised no one mentions the fact it is almost identical to the Zenith Defy Revival. It's a 10th of the price, more accurate but much less water resistance.
Yeah I'd take that annual discrepancy claim with a pinch of salt. I think even Bulova have withdrawn that now. I've got a precisionist chronograph which gains a few seconds a month, which is still incredible. I ordered this model today. Bulova make some pretty garish massive watches which puts many off, but every so often they come out with a true enthusiasts time piece, and I believe this Jet star is one of those.
Great watch. Where is the official statement that this is rated at +/- 5 sec per year? I've never seen that claim with any precisionist movement watch. Do you mean 5 sec per month?
@@andrewrg where do you see that on Bulova's website? They have never officially claimed 5 sec per year for precisionist movement. They did claim 10 sec per year when it was launched, but then dropped that later on.
@@wuchinshan133 Correct. When buyers started to see several seconds per month soon after the Precisionist came out and griped it wasn't remotely that accurate, Bulova backed on the claim off after a few years. I have 4 versions of the 262kHz, including a Precisionist chronograph. None perform better than 1.5 sec/month. Most are 3 sec/month. Some manuals outright say 5 sec/month which is pretty much what you can expect from this movement.
@@anonymouswatchguy4223 I have an older Accutron II Surveyor with this movement which also powers this model. The smooth sweep hand in models like this are power hungry. The CR2016 cell powering the movement lasts between 2-3 years.

That's interesting. The box mine came in is white. Makes sense with the white dial. By the way Bulova no longer quote than annual seconds discrepancy claim. They now just say "seconds pet year" I guess they must have gotten fed up with all those people moaning for being a few seconds out.
I've bitten the bullet on this one, despite having some reservations. Paid GBP 378 in the UK, which I think is a decent price, though I think it will go down further over the next few months.
Good for a few seconds per month Not per year. I no longer will purchase any watch without numerous micro adjustments, I'm spoiled I guess, but I'd think Bulova would have been wiser.
That is a great looking watch. I do like that case. I do wish Bulova would put their tuning fork logo on the dial.
they can't do that anymore because the tuning fork logo is used by accutron now, they're a separate brand now.
@chickenporkadobo1529 but the tuning fork logo is on the back and strap?
@@chickenporkadob0but it’s still on it?
@@adamdoonai think it signals an accutron if its on the watch? I could be making things up.
They should put jetstar on the dial
Got mine a week ago from Mimo's in Long Beach, Ca. Put the blue leather strap on it and loving it.
Got mine from Mimo too.. also loving it!
Much nicer on the leather strap
Great dimensions 👍
Born in 1973 , birthday soon 🤔
What a looker! I just ordered one from Amazon 🙂

Just stopping by to watch the review and tell you how much I enjoy your videos. Keep up the awesome work, brother.
Thanks so much
I like it maybe I should get it for my 50th birthday coming up later this year
Great idea

Nice video! Also love this new release. Completely agree with all your first impressions and overall take on it. Very impressed and wears great
Thanks for watching!
Excellent review of a pretty unique watch.
Thanks for watching
That extra is sooo cool,I love it😁
Looks like a very nice watch, think i'll go for it.
Quartz with a smooth sweep.
Nice watch
Lovely watch. It's my silver wedding anniversary soon,so I'm buying the gold one
I am surprised no one mentions the fact it is almost identical to the Zenith Defy Revival. It's a 10th of the price, more accurate but much less water resistance.
It's as expensive as a used car!!
The sweep 👌
The overall presentation sounds much like a QVS segment on TV!
I would recommend using a bit more neutral light bulb, about 5000 - 5500 Kelvin. Lovely watch.

Did you mention the watch overall thickness?
Thanks
I thought I did but if not 12.7 mm thick
