Thank you for your kind words =)
Always love to hear more people wanting MR2s; we're all brothers and the more the merrier!
Good luck with your modding adventure, just be safe on the street =)
Saw this on stance works, used to like the mr2 but never really saw one properly done until this... it is amazing!
You had me at gold rims, the fact that it's a Toyota and a MR2 just makes my day. Mate your car is FUCKING AWESOME!!!
This is one of the BEST MR2 i have ever see .. NICE
@PERZN4LIFE You're correct; the wing is from a Corolla AE 101 in Japan.
The center piece was broken when a drunk guy leaned on it and broke it in half
@MR2VIDS thanks alot. it is an honor being an mr2 brother. haha. and I agree. no other car has the uniqueness of an Mr2 anymore these days. I got my deuce imported from japan and still has less than 50 miles on it. Im a new driver so i don't know much about engines and what not but Im hoping you could lend me your guidance.
@JayOneTVC93 Ah, I believe what you were asking was my BOV, Blow Off Valve.
Some cars use different term, By Pass Valve, but they pretty much function the same.
Most turbo cars have either BPV or BOV to vent off excess air when the throttle plate is closed *either you back out from the gas pedal or gear change*.
The stock OEM BPV/BOV are mostly circulated and quiet, aftermarket ones are mostly vented to the air and loud.
If you want the sound, you gotta have a turbo car
I'm currently stationed in Batam (an island just next to Singapore). I've been here for three years, and I've only seen 2 MR-2s and one MR-S. Of the two MR-2s, one belongs to my friend, which he's letting go for around 12.5K USD. It's a 1996 MR-2 with 3S-GE engine. Price is rather high considering there's only two MR-2s in my hometown. :) Nice ride you got there, sir. :)
One MR2 owner to another, Keep doin what your doin.
makes it look even better and more unique imo!
@YaRockswarta the wing is from a Corolla AE 101 (Trueno) in Japan.
The center piece was broken when a drunk guy leaned on it and broke it in half
The missing center piece of your spoiler makes it look pretty unique. Sick ride.
One of the few wbk that is on point!
I love your deuce man. I just got an mr2 in january and Im working on it to look at least half as bad ass as yours.
Sweet thanks man, Really nice car though mate, love what you have done with it. My SW20 is in the workshop at the moment, really miss it, cruising vicariously through your videos for the time being haha.
I see your car on tumblr a lot; probably one of the nicest 2000GTs out there.
I dig the wing, or lack of wing, or whatever, lol.
Thank you for educating some people here =)
You're correct on that one.
And since I don't go more than a few MPH above speed limit having a wing or not, does not affect anything.
@ninoelectrobot
The tires were Achilles, and yes they're made in Indo.
They're All-Season tire with 400 thread rating.
Good for rain season =)
@AZNL3VER the 18x8.5 is 20lbs
the 19x10.5 is 23.5lbs
For comparison, the tire for the front wheel is 215/35/18 and it weighs 19lbs
The rear tire235/35/19 is 23lbs
So the forged wheel almost weight the same as a tire with air in the middle...
Weird...but interesting
@whoaAZN Thank you! =)
I call it "The Infamous Devil's Horns Wing", lol
You're the few that like it, majority of people hate it =(
Yeah exactly bro, and I just so happen to go on Canibeat today and I saw your car AGAIN on the Autocon coverage lol. I have madd respect for your car. Right now im working on a 2nd gen GS300 and have hella parts sitting in the closet including a set of discontinued OZ 3pc wheels and im going to put in a 2JZGTE by the end of the year. My next project was going to be a E30 325i but i'm seriously considering finding a MK2 MR2 now :P
This MR2 looks better than most exotics.
I was enjoying the ride! Sick car bro
This video was almost 2 years ago, I was running my old set
18x8.5 +16 with 215/35 and 19x10.5 +10 235/35
I have newer set of Meister that I have now replacing the old one:
18x10 +5 with 235/30 and 19x12.5 +5 and 285/30
@FreakOutBoii Thank you much for your kind words =)
I have no plan spending money fixing the wing, so for the time being, it will stay that way =D
But I agree with you, it probably would look better if it had the center piece
Selling my LS400 and was debating on a Miata or MR2. Obviously, going for MR2. Love the whip!
@uscrunch Not a lot more than the average MR2 Turbo.
My last rear set lasted me almost 10K miles (Hankook Ventus V12 with 280 tread rating).
When I had All Season Kumho or Achillies with higher tread rating, I got 13-14K miles
The front lasted a very long time; 49K miles on my last set
-3.7 camber front
-4.2 camber rear
They are sure a keeper; a timeless car that still looks good after 20 years =)
I enjoy driving my SW daily, I'm sure you enjoy driving yours too.
BTW about the V6 conversion: some people put 1MZ 3000cc V6, but the lately they've been swappping 2GR 3500cc V6 from the latest Camry.
I'm Indonesian so I'm familiar with Batam; my Dad sometimes travel to SG via that city.
I've heard heard there are a few of MR2s in JKT and BDG, and the price is around 150JT or more (Turbo model).
That's almost triple the cost compared to average price in California, but I guess they're quite rare.
But then again, most cars in Indo cost three times as much compared to USA....
Thinking of bying a turbo and doing the same thing, just with vs-xx instead..btw your deuce looks sick and that stance is just crazy! I've had your car as a desktop on and of for 3 years or so
About the wing, I think it would look better with the centerpiece on, but on the other hand those devilhorns has become your cars trademark!
Just love it!
@twinentryturbo I just hose off the car daily with water, to get rid of the dust.
That way the car doesn't get dirty to the point I need to scrub it.
Also, I use Eagle One Wax As You Dry; I spray it after I hose off the car, so the paint stays slippery even though I wax the car only once a year.
@MeanYellowMachine 19" doesn't fit in the front of MR2, especially 10.5" wide.
When the front wheels turn, it rubs against the metal body and the fender.
19x8 probably fits up front, but not x10.5
The old set was 18x8.5 and 19x10.5, the new set is 18x10 and 19x12.5
The 18x10 fits fine up front, and after further calculation and test-fit, I might be able to put 18x10.5.
im so lucky i see this car on the daily he lives down the block from me ^.
Damn I love this car. I think i've seen on Canibeat before in the background of a BMW meet.
my favorite mr2
@ohNGOohYES Yes!
It was South on Brookhurst then I hit 405 South =)
I live in Westminster, so it's just a stone throw away from your place, I think.
This is an old video, I think I was still on S.Tech springs.
Newer videos are on coilover and already lowered, I even radius the rear to squat the rear even more than before.
clean mr2. you're probably around where I'm from. you drove by Mile Square Park and my favorite Starbucks!!!
Sweet ride love the staggered wheels
This is an old video, at the time, I was running my 1st set of Meisters, the 18x8.5 +16 and 19x10.5 +10.
I then bought my 2nd Meisters, 18x10 +5 and 19x12.5 +5, those are on the newer videos.
Now I have Blitz TechnoSpeed Z1, 18x10 -15 and 19x12.5 -15
Yeah, I'm not into racing my non-turbo MR2 around. I tend to pad the speed limit a few mph on the freeway, but that's about it. There was one time years ago where I buried the needle in mine in the middle of the night on a deserted freeway. Kind of scary, but also quite an adrenaline rush in these 'darty' little cars. lol
I'm still tempted at some point to put a Toy/Lex V6 in it, but who knows in the end what I do with it. I figure any MR2s with glass T-tops like ours have are keepers.
@77ROLLS77 LOL. thanks for the compliments! =)
Actually I didn't do that on purpose to the wing; a drunk guy leaned on the center piece and broke it in half =(
@G35AndTGOD Their photography skill is awesome =)
Wow, that is weird.
It was fine for many months and now it's all weird stretched like that
I'll see if I can fix it, thank you!
@MrRodillo123 I was once pulled over by a cop, and was asked this: "What happened to the wing? Did you take the center piece off so you can go faster?"
Oh man, I couldn't hold my laughter
Nice choices on parts and color ;)
Yes, you're correct =)
As a feature, only once,
But sometimes they post my ride on their FB page
@slowgreencivic Thank you very much for the compliment, I really appreciate it =)
I don't have tumblr but my friends have been telling me that they see my Deuce posted every now and then.
A drunk guy leaned on it and broke the center piece in half =(
@xxnissansilviaxx @ the time this video was taken, I was running 18x8.5 and 19x10.5.
That set I got it used for $2,200 with tires 215/35 and 235/35
The 2nd Work Meister S1 set that I got recently (same wheels, just wider) is 18x10 and 19x12.5, cost me $3,300 before tires
@allen3530 at the time of this video was taken: Koni Yellow and Tein S.Tech springs
@eric123805 The wheels' name is right on the title of the video =P
Work Meister S1, 3-piece
@MR2VIDS
awesome..i use it too in my beetle..not slip just grip forever..and appropriate for my country too..indonesia
:9
Hey Awesome car, my MR duece is going to be done soon. Mine is also going to be a ferrari color, Rosso Red, with carbon fiber rear spoiler center, and carbon fiber engine color ;)
@aguydudeperson 14-15PSI, stock is 10-11PSI
Ah, you must have seen the coverage of LTBMW meet, by 1013mm aka John Zhang =)
@Toyotoys No one sells just the center piece, they want to sell the whole wing including the two towers.
A guy in Malaysia and Japan are selling one set for $250, $150 shipping.
I still have to cut the center piece and cut off 3 inches to fit the MR2 trunk, then do work to put them together and paint them, $200
Too fucking much just to fix the center piece
@wastedfilm Yes! =)
Brookhurst, then 405 South
@Hondaminican MKI on BBS looks awesome, I like your taste =)
I see you drive around GG/Westminster/FV all the time for years. What kind of paintjob did you get to make it super shiny and brand new all the time?
Extreme Dimension website has complete kit of TRD 2000GT, browse under Toyota MR2
SICKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK MR2
@robertstaco There will be a few more nicely stanced WBK Deuce coming! =)
@RScar311 Thank you very much!
Even though I didn't make it like that in purpose...lol
@Rawwnnn No one sells just the center piece, they want to sell the whole wing including the two towers.
A guy in Malaysia and Japan are selling one set for $250, $150 shipping.
I still have to cut the center piece and cut off 3 inches to fit the MR2 trunk, then do work to put them together and paint them, $200

Watanabe RS would look good on MKI, in my opinion.
It's more old school, it matches MKI better.
Are there many MR2s in Singapore?
@giantlabs Where in the Midwest are you?
I live in Ames, IA for 4 years, and the roads are better than in SoCal.
You know, being in a small city, the roads are pretty well-maintained.
I can't say about other bigger cities though, lol
@510musicmaker you should aim twice as decent as mine, we are MR2 brothers and we need to step our game up and show the world some nice Deuces =)
If you are on MR2OC, you would see Deuces that are a lot nicer than mine, with power to back the look.
All the best with your work on the Deuce! =)
Hey,
The engine is a USDM 2nd Gen 3SGTE, with turbo from the 3rd Gen engine.
There''s a video when I was on a dyno, if you want to see =)
Thank you
@MR2VIDS Hey man what is it what makes a car whistle after the shift is it turbo or what i really love how that sounds and want to learn i got my first car less then a year its a 1991 vw gti mk2 and its coming along pretty well but i wanna get it to make that whistling sound after i switch shift but dont know i was really impressed by your car time well spent amazing car...
this is the most known mr2 in the world.
for its signature missing fin.
@LordToxygene Why are you so concern about how my car looks like, Lawrence?
You live in Riverside, you won't see my car around that area so don't worry about how mine looks like
How's your Celica coming along? Still broken down?
LoL, the guy got creeped out and started filming you too!
@MR2VIDS ohh alright i see now thanks i learned something haha is there a website to see all of the aftermarket products are the products only for imports or also for euros dude
its possible to turn any car into a turbo car right all it needs is complete work on engine and all parts right?
OMG a trd2000gt!:o you guys may not like the old school wing, but this bodykit alone is worth about 15000$
no, wheels that are that large just reduce grip. and stretched tires + stance doesn't help either. the car would be faster in the corners on 17 or 18 wheels and some decently wide tires like 235 or 245 max.
@mattdaman666 lol.
Kidding aside, he was stumbling and stumbled and leaned on the center piece and broke it
I know right?
Imagine you driving behind it and stuck for hours looking at it...
makes you feel like going out of your car and Hulk Smash it, lol
Thank you for your kind words =)
If you like this video (which was an old video, and I was on my old set of Meister), you would really like my newest video.
The car has gotten lower, and the wheels got wider.
Just go to my channel and see the latest video.
Hope you like it mate!
@BlooDish14 It is, isn't it?
What happen to the valence?
Very nice widebody MR2.
lol
Our MR2s are so back end heavy that the spoiler wing is unnecessary unless you're planning to do some extreme high speed racing maneuvers. ;)
@pimpjuice8921573 Yeah, it's been broken since the day I bought the car.
Cost too much to get the original center piece =(
i think i saw your car on stancenation
Only thing I don't like is that you don't have the complete spoiler.
@MR2VIDS why didn't you just run the 19x10.5 up front and the 19x12.5 in the rear?
@G35AndTGOD I didn't mean to have that kind of wing; a drunk guy leaned on it and broke it in half =(
@MR2VIDS oh man that sucks........got to watch out for the drunks lol.
any new mods done to the car?
@Lateralusum Oh yeah no doubt about that, having a complete wing will look a lot better.
I just need someone to pay for it 'coz I'm not willing to spend money fixing it =p
@MR2VIDS did you make the dude pay.
I think a watanabe RS will look good on these too :)
@MR2VIDS So take the rest of the spoiler off, and it will look much better?
The center piece is there, but only cool people can see it.
I'm sure you can see it, can't you? =P
what happened to the spoiler? looks like horns or something.
Did you really just suggest me to step way down from Work Meister to Rota Grid? =P
Where is the rest of the spoiler?
what brand that tire?
made in indonesia?
i love it :)
@tomshobbycollectible Dang, Supra as daily, baller! =D
Next time you see me again just honk and wave, I'm friendly and don't bite lol
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you =)
Must be NICE to have a quite car. His B.O.V. is as loud as mine. Sexy lil SW20.
@8lroman8 Nah, no drifting for me =)
It's my beater car, driven daily to work and doing errands.
can't afford to break things left and right at the track and not have a car going to work
@LordToxygene its basically a fad really. Remember Altezza tail lights? Its the new ricer thing to do but people wont admit it. It's just one of those things you either like or not. Im a bit partial to it myself.
