Considering the number of norms he needs (all of them) and the prep involved with playing tournaments, as well as the amount of ELO he has left to gain, doing it before GTA6 would actually be quite difficult. Still, I suspect he will have at least 1 GM norm by then, which feels like a much more reasonable prediction.

Same. I guess there's a storyline and clear goal in mind for someone makes it interesting to follow. You're kind of getting invested in the idea of Levy trying to become a GM. Trying to work towards something. Root for him.
Helps that Hikaru's analysis is easier to follow/understand than the eval. bar alone that just doesn't say *why* something is good/bad (not to mention the difference between humans/computers in finding moves). Ironically I guess I'm invested in Levy becoming a GM, but I prefer the recaps by Hikaru.
(To be fair, I have played chess at one point, although I don't anymore)

@@KaitouKaiju first you need to read my post then talk. Look at the ratings of his current opponents. Most of them are FM & CM. and according to my knowledge there was only a single GM in this competition that's why I'm saying I'm not that impressed seeing him winning against them.
In my opinion his earlier tournament in madrid was much better. He finished second but that competition has IMs ans GM...

In the last few days I’ve seen blatant racism, sexism, fat shaming, and other derogatory remarks. Obviously this is completely unacceptable, and it baffles me that people think it’s okay to degrade Levy’s peers in this manner, especially considering their direct contribution in generating content that supports Levy’s channel and YOUR entertainment. If you’re reading this and have been participating in these hateful acts, please stop. I’m certain this is not the community Levy is trying to curate, and your actions are only serving to damage the chess community as a whole.

Absolutely mind-blowing this era of chess we are experiencing. GMs discussing games within hours of completion. This direct-feedback and stockfish-ish level of analysis. As a teacher this level of detail for student work would do amazing wonders for the education system.
We would have to wait years, decades, or a translation of material to get past-GM analysis.
These TH-cam video series and every game is a large volume of text all related to chess. And let's be honest we all have our favorite author. Rather, painter because chess is a masterpiece.
We are all human-computers trying to beat other-computers.

Hikaru is a great teacher. The direct, objective and complete way in which it relates the pawn structure and other strategic factors, with possible plans and sketches of tactics is, at the same time, enlightening and a great show.

Yep. Interesting opening and middle-game formations, but Black was far too lax. Ba6 over Qa6 would have been interesting too. The complexity level seemed good for Levy. It was unusual, but it didn't offer a lot of tactical or dynamic things for White. I would suggest he aim for positions from the opening which offer a bit more tactical play. That suits his temperament.
