    The frame of the bike was being splashed by the water your mud guard is not long enough

  • @Wannaridebikes

    I was at a estate sale I found over 30 of that style of folders. I made many front mud catchers and gave them away. Easy and on the cheap. ...but do crash they bend and rip easy.

  • @desvae

    I made this with a plastic folder just like in the video, and after a few months of trail riding it has cracks and holes. Dirst seems to be flying off the tires and hitting the mud guard, destroying it. Is there a way I can stop this?

      Definitely not for commuting but it works great for those small puddles you can come across in the trail.

    Didn’t read all the comments, but the only advice I would give is to tape the template to the vinyl cover and then cut it. The paper seemed like it would be too thin and the marker would move the paper outside the trace line. Very good video and idea though.

  • @acuriouseye
    @acuriouseye ปีที่แล้ว

    Design is limited by the A4 template and using a hole punch with limited range from the edge. If going to the effort, I'd want. a bit more extension out front, requiring four holes to fit onto the fork brace. Prhaps a drill would do the centre holes nicely? Would like to know where to get a heavy duty plastic sheet, at least 300 x 300 mm.

  • @thenflywjaz6917
    @thenflywjaz6917 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    These type of fenders do nothing to prevent mud and water spraying everywhere. The whole concept is bogus, as the size of the fender is woefully inadequate for the purpose. You might as well try to convince people that a cocktail umbrella will keep them dry in a downpour. 🤨

    Nice! Would you happen to know what size bolt is used for that little hole on the bike's front forks? It's traditionally a mounting hole for fenders or headlights.

    • @RunBikeMike
      @RunBikeMike  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I am not sure. But if you could use that bolt to hold it on that would be cool.

    • @deniahmetaj
      @deniahmetaj 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Don't even bother friend. Unless you have the most secure bolts in the world that thing is going to get loose on it's first ride on anything that isn't a flat tarmac street
