And personally I prefer the Nightwish Cruise version because for whatever reason the camera work in the other versions I've seen tends to not focus on Floor for the chorus for some freaking reason?? You think Annette did good on songs that were written for her try listening to Storytime from Wacken and Song of Myself. Amaranth even sounds better in my opinion with Floor. Floor shines live Annette was good in the studio but in my opinion struggled live.

my first time with Floor was Storytime from this consert...a song i never really liked before...and Floor made it one of the most epic songs i ever heared....specially the operetic part....see for yourself.

Since you said that you're interested in seeing Floor do her interpretation of Anette-era songs, aside from Poet and the Pendulum, you should also see Floor's version of Storytime. It's a combination amalgamation of some Annette, Floor's own style, and even a bit of Tarja influence. Also check out the live version of The Islander (another Anette-era song) from the Tampere concert.. you won't be disappointed!

With the additions of Floor, Troy and now Kai as full-time members of the band, they now seem to be in a really good place. They all get along and have put on some of the happiest and most energetic live shows in many years. They all seem to be having a lot of fun now. Can't wait for the next live DVD (hopefully soon) and next year's studio album.
My first album of Night wish I bought was Showtime, story time this past February. I learned my lesson quick to make sure to get the DVD version. Listening to them live is great but to have the video is just so much better!

Floor is a vocal swiss army knife. She can do rock, pop, opera, classical and metal... all within minutes or seconds of each other. Every vocal coach I've watched react to Floor are amazed at her control and ability to change her vocal style on a dime. Her stage presence is what is the cherry on top. She has a lot of charisma without coming across like a diva.

Only 1 album with Floor, Endless Forms Most Beautiful. They are working on another album now, so you have a few months to catch up. Floor's original band After Forever toured with Nightwish in early 2000's. They sounded similar to Epica because Mark Jansen was in band until 2002. After After Forever broke up in 2009, Floor formed Revamp. Revamp was considerably heavier than Nightwish. Floor started growling in this. I’ve been a fan since ‘04 when I heard I Wish I Had an Angel from Once while at work listening to a rock station online. I listened to all the albums before Endless Forms Most Beautiful, but missed that one for some reason. Found the video of this performance on TH-cam, not expecting Floor to just kill it. I was blown away by just how well she fit into the band. Went and saw them in Anaheim for the Decades tour and it was one of the best shows I’ve been to. Definitely plan to see them again for the tour for the new album they are working on.
Can't wait for the new album dropping next year. Hope there's a concert near by. You're going to be amazed with poet and pendulum. Even more with greatest show on earth.

I did feel the same as you when I redescovered Nightwish for about a year ago (after 6-8 years from it, due to Anette and stuff) I think we're somehow at the same level at that point. When I checked out your uploads after watching your GLS reaction I somehow KNEW Romanticide must have been your second reaction, haha! And it's a nice one again. I love how you said that with Floor Tuomas now has the "freedom to compose how he always was looking for"(?), and I think you're very right with this. First proof in existence so far: The Greatest Show On Earth; especially their performance in Tampere. You GOTTA react to that as well, but take your time! It is a masterpiece of more than 20 minutes, and I HIGHLY recommend you to look up the lyrics and meaning beforehand, because by "ignoring" the lyrics many people before were missing out on SO MUCH good content...! (Ah, and please watch the video until the very and to not miss *spoiler* some nice spoken parts ;) ) The fact Floor does not try to copy Tarja is more than right as well - I mean, she gives every single song her own special "something", if you know what I mean. ;) By the way, as far as I know from reactions of vocal coaches (highly recommend watching some of these if you're interested in singing theory, you can learn a lot from most of them!), Anette's singing style is called "belting". ;D

I just want to take a moment to recognize Ann Waychoff. We were notified of her passing on 6/29/2020. Originally I posted this under her comment on Song of Myself as it was one of her favorite songs. You can find comments just like this one full of positivity, love, and friendship on nearly EVERY SINGLE reaction video up until medical issues progressed recently. When I started this channel it was based off a user comment on another video. I released my first reaction video to GLS and that's where I got my first comment from Ann. She's been here on almost every video since and always felt like one of my biggest supporters. I'm another who has used the power of Nightwish to get me through many tough times with their emotional and powerful music. As Nightwish fans let us acknowledge Ann Waychoff's passing in proper Nightwish fashion. My meaning here is to celebrate her life as the journey and celebrate the joy she brought and spread. Her dedication to Nightwish and their music/message and her work to bring that joy to so many others was inspiring. That Floor would try to imitate another singer is so unthinkable. She is so far above that. She is a professional at the top of her craft, why would she want to be like someone else? Can you imagine hiring Freddy Mercury for instance, if he was alive, and telling him to sound like the former singer? And in this case not even the former singer but someone even before her. As Dianne van Giersbergen (ex Xandria, classical trained) once said: 'I did not train all these years to sound like someone else.'

It is a masterpiece of more than 20 minutes, and I HIGHLY recommend you to look up the lyrics and meaning beforehand, because by "ignoring" the lyrics many people before were missing out on SO MUCH good content...! (Ah, and please watch the video until the very and to not miss *spoiler* some nice spoken parts ;) )
The fact Floor does not try to copy Tarja is more than right as well - I mean, she gives every single song her own special "something", if you know what I mean. ;)
By the way, as far as I know from reactions of vocal coaches (highly recommend watching some of these if you're interested in singing theory, you can learn a lot from most of them!), Anette's singing style is called "belting". ;D

I just want to take a moment to recognize Ann Waychoff. We were notified of her passing on 6/29/2020. Originally I posted this under her comment on Song of Myself as it was one of her favorite songs.

She's been here on almost every video since and always felt like one of my biggest supporters.
I'm another who has used the power of Nightwish to get me through many tough times with their emotional and powerful music.
As Nightwish fans let us acknowledge Ann Waychoff's passing in proper Nightwish fashion. My meaning here is to celebrate her life as the journey and celebrate the joy she brought and spread. Soon in September we are getting the live DVD for Decades, the last tour. U will love it. I went. Floor killed every single old song.

That Floor would try to imitate another singer is so unthinkable. She is so far above that. She is a professional at the top of her craft, why would she want to be like someone else? Can you imagine hiring Freddy Mercury for instance, if he was alive, and telling him to sound like the former singer? And in this case not even the former singer but someone even before her. As Dianne van Giersbergen (ex Xandria, classical trained) once said: 'I did not train all these years to sound like someone else.'

Poet and the Pendulum is another level, I bought the LIVE show in Whacken DVD/CD I highly suggest you pick it up beginning to end is one of the greatest LIVE shows I've ever seen.
