I understand that this isn’t the first time Luigi Mario got kidnapped by Bowser like Princess Peach and Mario Mario has to put his skills to the test (the first and only one in the 2010s being SM3DL) but it’s highly refreshing to see Mario ACTUALLY fight Bowser to save Luigi since I have always been more of a Luigi fan than a Peach fan, especially in early 21st Century Super Mario.
@@toadrice True, but Nintendo are being really... "extra" about it. They're basing the art styles from, get this, the N64 promo art of Mario and the New Super Mario Bros Wii games... not bad, just such odd choices to base a cinematic movie's artstyle off of.
This animated short is the closest thing we have to Super Mario getting a cinematic adaptation if it wasn't for Illumination Studios taking advantage of that.
I hope they make the movie look like the games or how the Super Mario Odyssey renders look and not in the style of how the characters in Despicable Me look.
