Well if you’re interested in understanding the allure of these devices I can say from a ADHD perspective it’s super helpful to be able to put in the requests without needing to use my phone to do so. It’s really easy to get distracted on a phone. At least with a voice-first interface I avoid a lot of those distractions. Not excusing how much these companies overpromised, just saying that there’s at least one use case right there.

You know, I intellectually knew that the AI hype bubble was where all the scammers moved after the NFT/Crypto bubble popped, but I didn't know it was so literal. Literally, they didn't even bother to close the old company and start a new one. They just filed a legal name change and kept on running the same scam business. That's incredible.

@nathangaspacio6128 Hold on. I think they were on to something with FNAF Game Theory Hype. Let them cook.
So...why is this even a thing? He started listing off stuff like "You can order food, you can get a ride" etc. Well, so can a phone. Mostly any phone. And we all have those already. Why would I want to carry this brick with me that (even if functioning correctly) improves my life about 0%. I don't get it.
Phones are going to go away, this is the next wave of developers trying to win the future with new device designs.
Lets say it works perfectly as intended... you will exchange lots of control of your actions to gain a very small practicality or comfort ??
Even the selling points is pure Hype, they are trying to sell you something you think you want, but you dont really want it, and you will only discover after trying it.
.
The ideia is insanely bad on every level of tech, security, liberty, etc, but even on the psychological level, its bad...humans like interactions, like the feeling of control, like to "press buttons".... its like the same thing that happened to Cake Mix, they had to remove some ingredients from factory to the consumers add on the process of baking it, because people did want even a little interaction to feel that they are doing something, even if its just only adding some milk...
@@71degrees - phones are NOT going away, its the opposite... they are becoming computers.... do you think computers are going away?
Smartphones are the wheel of the modern society, its just works, its simple and efficient... it already takes lots of tools in one device.... you cant reduce something when its already on the minimal quantity possible, ONE.
Smartphones are becoming computers, they already are, but they will get more and more powerful and with more tools.
I just cant see how anything could possibly overthrow this tech on the next 50 years, maybe even more.
@brianfhunter they'll go away, everything does eventually.
