Coffee here, posting on behalf of Strider, who's comment keeps getting deleted or flagged as spam for some reason. Strider's original post: CORRECTION! Our original estimate (docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1DJgPy4RwgaYAIefvPdTO0BO0Ju0hDccEIKbOoVwJziI/edit?usp=sharing) was $100M based on a calculation of the amount of money Safemoon MADE from the 100% tax. (total LP tokens generated over that period). The math was right but the interpretation was wrong. The real losses to INVESTORS appears to be lower, about $6,300,000. As a small time toober, I'm worried about about doing any kind of sponsorship, in case it turns out that the company does something messed up in the future. These influencers must not live on the same planet as me, to go in on these blatant scams, against audiences they have built up, often over years... its genuinely baffling.
Regulation would be a waste of money - these things should be prohibited, they serve no conceivable legitimate use or benefit. It has as much place in society as something like dog fighting.
That is honestly not very realistic though, not to mention there are legit crypto coins out there and I do see good reasons to have them around. As far as not being realistic, I mean actually writing the language into a law that would not inadvertently outlaw other perfectly legal and normal financial frameworks while at the same time ensuring that said law could not be easily worked around by technicalities. Not to mention the fact that most people, at least in the US, would not be fans of even more government control in their lives.
@@Galworld761 unfortunately that guy at the beginning is a lot of people. Not very educated but have dreams of being rich, insert scammers into that shit usually goes wrong.
The scams on this channel are getting so intricate and so big that I believe one day, this guy will find a case that leads to the exposure of actual legit corporations doing some truly fucked up things. He and the team are really stepping up their game.
The corporations created this game. Have all the brilliant minds chasing people stealing meme coins (1's and 0's on computer screens) while the real thieves have their safety nets working in government positions
I feel like none of the employees in SafeMoon can wash their hands. Even IF they wanted to run/do it right (trying to get the lp locked, being part of your investigation etc) they still knew what was happening at the time but kept working there and said nothing to all the people being scammed.
I think one factor, which Coffee tried to address with the intro, is that exposing this GUARANTEES a crash. Because everyone panic-sells their shares… So if you were trying to implement positive changes behind the scenes, like fixing liquidity theft, you would want to keep it on the down low until the situation has improved. That doesn’t mean I believe these people, but it could be true…
to be fair they probably tried to warn people, but the "safemoon army" is basically a cult and likely wouldnt listen to anything anyone said. so even if they DID warn people, those people probably shut their eyes and covered their ears.
I honestly think that if we could just bring back being able to do things like buy a house or take vacations on a high school education like you used to be able to do, you'd see a lot fewer scams like this. Maybe some people like this are after stuff like Gucci products and other fancy, lavish stuff, but some also seem to just want to be able to do simple things like buy a house or travel. Things you used to be able to do with just a high school education. It seems like a lot of folks behind things like this are just people who either couldn't get regular jobs with the skills they have at the moment, or are just too overwhelmed by today's modern, ultra-high-stress work environment.
Yeah well you get brainwashed to hate the only movement last century that fought against the kosher banking system, so much so you are lied to and reminded about it all the time by people who know nothing about it.
That's what I've seen with a lot of the people making videos talking about their "investments" on Bitconnect and similar things. They sound like down-to-earth working class people just looking to break away from the rat race, and when they jump into these scams think they found something that's going to give way more dividends than the usual retirement accounts or index funds.
