My problem is of carnivores 2 mod jurassic hunter legends and other mods of carnivores 2 so the error is if I use D3d render it only shows the land an no texture of dinos my guns no trees no sea etc and if I use 3dfxglide it shoes everything white except for sky in red and the software render sucks in graphics as well it isn't compatible with jurassic park hunter legends mod so if anyone can tell me a solution? I even asked on discord but nobody knew about that error.
@@abubakarmalik733 hey man, I had a similar problem while making my own C2+ mod. JP Hunters render engines weren’t that good, try swapping it it out with another mods d3d or 3dfx render engine, i used the Carn Triassic engines on my Carn Ice Age mod.

Missing/buggy animations
Everything automatically being tranquilizers
Spelling mistakes
They should’ve waited another week to a month to release this, it’s very much in need of some polish

Definitely an improvement over the base game in terms of the AI and even some of the gameplay, but it's not as trouble free as I was hoping. Hope there will be patches for it. Eager to see your review Saurian!
I heard they're still fixing and working on it also might add new dinosaurs and more ambient animals

I've been playing on my Switch and have been loving it.
Way better than the base game.
Can't wait until they hopefully add DLC.
And fix a lot of the stuff they botched, like trophies and always using tranquilizers.
dlc? they need to finish the game. people like you keep standards low, willing to pay more for half assed games
Im on ps4, i hope we get some classic dinos like Pachycephalosaurus, Velociraptor, Allosaurus, Spinosaurus, Sauropods, and your fav Chasmosaurus🤣. I also hope we get some reimagined maps like the destroyed fort and mysterious pyramid, and maybe a shotgun for those close encounters

I remember playing the original game back on pc in like 2000
I think the game looks pretty good actually, although I wish they would give it regular updates. Like new weapons, dinosaurs, gadgets, maps. Maybe a character customer in the menu or trophy room would be cool too.
I got an idea in might share with them
Dinosaur takedowns: To give the predators more nature and scarier,they can do kill animations on even other dinosaurs Similar to the animal takedowns in the far cry series.
Example: A T-rex chases a stegosaurus and then bites it on the and snaps it like a toothpick and roars in triumphant. Or a Ceratosaurus chasing some gallimimus and scooping up one in its mouth

It´s a start, hopefully with frequent updates... The dinosaur roster is great an all, but too small for me personally... I can see myself playing more of the Carnivores HD on mobile than this one for now because of the variety, hopefully this game blows our minds in the long run and trully makes this franchise ´´reborn´´, there is a LOT of potential
I definitely think that Dinosaur hunt is just your same character revisiting the spot after letting himself go for a long time, so he's trying to do it to get fit again lol.

Thanks for this review. Although you mentioned quite a few pro's, imo the cons completely overshadow the pro's atm. So I'm just gonna wait for the Steam version, which I hope will be a little more upgraded then the state it's in right now.

@@hypn0298 Yeah, you're right. I do hope though when the PC users that own Reborn get a free copy of Dinosaur Hunt that there has at least been updated SOMETHING. Even if its just a minor improvement.
Been playing on the PS4 and been having a blast! Only gripe is the overall lack of content and some of the bugs mentioned (the call bug where you can't swap between them without the animal tracker bugs me). Would love to see some new animals, some new guns, and even maybe some new behaviors for the roster in general.
A great review that covered all of the game from its highs to its lows. Many of my issues with Dinosaur Hunt were also encountered by yourself as you played as well. I really do hope that we do see some fixes and updates coming along for Dinosaur Hunt as the potential of the game is still present. But with the sound design needing work, some of the simple bugs with controls not working, and more you've listed in the video the game needs more TLC to fix it before we see new content added. But overall an alright experience on the new consoles from Reborn's time and some nice QoL improvements to the game as well despite some of its issues. Excellent video my friend.

PC gang here, though it still has glaring problems that need fixing and hopefully will be fixed, it’s still a step in the right direction, I'm hyped to go on another dino hunting trip on this alien planet again, and man do I hope they add more dinos in the future to spice up the roster a bit more like allosaurus, velociraptor or even amargasaurus
Oh my god the Ceratosaurus and T-Rex charges looked SO MENACING. That was awesome🔥🔥🔥
A really good review thanks. Still makes me wonder how literally with a second re-release there are still so many fundamental issues and also new issues with the game that could seemingly easily be fixed. Let's hope they push through this time and patch the hell out of it and add the much needed content.
I think of the less canon-style carnivores style dinosaurs as a different species Dinocorp gave the same name to, because they at least have some similarities. As well as the gigantic spinosaurus in older versions of the mobile port being a deformity that gives them gigantism.

Fantastic review. I hope Digital Dreams is taking notes. I want to add that it runs at 60fps on the Switch, which is impressive.
I’m playing it on my PS4, I used to have the original version on my PS3, and despite the heavy grind and lack of ambient animals, I’m still having a blast, I can’t wait for updates that will bring the ambient animals back as well as maybe more Dino’s to hunt :)
Hey Saurian! FIrst up, Thanks for the ''Happy Birthday'' - Means alot! Anyway, potential update for DIno Hunt: It is not very well known, but Spinosaurus and Allosaurus are in the files of Reborn - Just not being used. Perhaps they can come back on these and add two new species?
Hopefully they’ll both make a return as DLC dinosaurs someday!

Great review Saurian! I'm glad to know I'm not the only one who has had those MIST glitches. Based on the gameplay I've seen, I think those are unique to PS4, though I'll be curious to know if any XONE or Switch players can confirm that.
I never got HD or Reborn, but what convinced me to pick Dinisaur Hunt was the improved AI and the ability to hunt any dino on any map. That was worth the price of admission for me, and I've been REALLY enjoying the game (Ceratosaurus is TERRIFYING)!
I can see why there are such mixed feelings, so I'm glad to see that you're review was in depth, thorough, and that you actually unlocked everything and experienced it all before trying to review it. Everyone has their own standards for what is worth a purchase, and I think reviews of this quality will be very helpful to other Carnivores fans or the curious to help them know if this is something they could enjoy in its current state.

Honestly, I feel like it’s mostly a lateral step from Reborn, but if I had to say, I’d go with improvement. I think the issues with Reborn were worse than Dinosaur Hunt’s issues, it’s largely fixed what made Reborn unplayable for me, but it’s added new problems in the process. Personally, I’m very happy there are no mutated dinosaurs, I’d rather have more natural dinosaur variety than mutants.
@@SaurianTarget Hopefully we get natural variants, it adds the variety we got with mutants but less, I don't know, awkward or forced?
Agreed. Just subtle variations between individuals feels a lot more natural and exciting than some man made-monstrosity
I had actually picked up Reborn on sale in anticipation for when Dino Hunt comes to Steam. After watching your video, I honestly don't think I can see myself even playing the "new" game until DDE fixes everything that Reborn and HD already offered. I honestly can't understand how the same company can eff up the same game three times in a row.
The only saving grace I see for this game is using the Unity engine, so the community can potentially fix and add new stuff that the devs couldn't or wouldn't do.

I think the Steam version should include any patches/updates the game gets between now and the PC release, so hopefully by the time it gets to you, it’ll be in a better state
I've been playing it on my switch, I am really enjoying it. One thing I would improve Is points for unlicenced dinos and more guns/dinos.
So far Im liking where this is going. Although it would have been neat if the dino assets were tweaked, my ideal designs would have been a mix of retrosaurus with moder modern depictions
Honestly, that is also my dream Carnivores aesthetic. Maybe one of these days…

Hmm I also got this twice (PS3/PC) and I instantly thought to get it on switch when I saw it but understood that ya it's been fun but nothing new had been added. Hopefully we'll see some updates this time and those bug fixes implemented. AI improvements got me excited. Good Review!

By the way - the August update pretty much added all of the things you mentioned as being missing. Lethal, Observer, blood, red tracks, press to evac trophy, hold to evac self, etc.

When I was a teenager I played this on windows 98 lol. Very nostalgic. Hope they improve this game because I’d like to revisit it and play again but the cons seem like this new version is worse than the one I played 20 years ago. You’d think they’d have improved it since then. The idea of hunting dinosaurs is so fun and exciting for a video game.
I'm playing it on Xbox. Honestly I hope they address all the issues you brought up, and also maybe add the remaining legacy creatures, like Velociraptor and Spinosaurus, as for new dinosaurs, Maybe Megalosaurus and Iguanodon
Wait do mutated dinosaurs still spawn?
One minor thing I noticed on some gameplay videos (although correct me if this isn't the case or I somehow missed you talking about it in this video) is that the rifle has increased ammo per clip, which kinda feels like an unnecessary buff. You don't need to be quite as careful with your ammo anymore and I think it was perfectly fine with just 3/4 shots. Plus I have no clue how 5 bullets are fitting into that thing to begin with
That’s right, there are 5 bullets in the rifle, and I agree, it does feel like a bit much.
They should also add dinosaur fighting animations like a ceratosaurus fighting a stego or trike fighting a t-rex
This was a 50/50 for me. I played both this and the PS3 version. The PS3 version was amazing cause it was new, had all the mentioned features in the video and was immersive by not creating fake sounds. The PS4 version has the advantage of hunting all dinosaurs in all maps, but it really needs to be fixed with updates. A dlc new dino is all I want. My 2 major bugs with the new version are that pteranodons fly to the ground sometimes and the running button sometimes becomes other actions like crouching or taking a breather. Also the balance is a mess with gadgets, before the Revolver, double ammo and x-Ray didn’t affect score but now X-ray, beeps and radar have become the most expensive gadgets when taking gems away, and no gadget is without the cost of giving you less gems. So stacking all 2% seems like the new way to play

I'm going to be waiting until it comes out on Steam to play it. I'm hoping that some of the issues you mentioned will be fixed before it's released on Steam.
According to Digital Dreams they are! So hopefully they stick to that. Apparently a Steam release is coming in late summer, along with bug fixes and changes, so if they stick to that then that'll be great!

I been playing on my switch for awhile and there’s one problem with it
I would be having a good hunt and it would crash on me ,soft-lock or screen lock this happens to me for awhile I would say that the switch can’t really handle all the details and software but come on Jurassic world evolution can handle all that. So yeah hopefully they will fix this problem that in a future update. So yeah the games really fun to play 9/10 very nice⭐️
it certainly has nothing to do with the switch'es horsepower. There are several FPS on switch that look and run WAY better than Carnivores. Hopefully they fix the problems with an update soon. The game itself is tons of fun.

I hope for some patches first to reintroduce the cut things and iron stuff out first. Here's hoping it sells well enough at least to not be abandoned immediately

How has this game improved since released if at at?
Since the first version released in 2013? Not by much. Mostly that it’s been moved to an engine that doesn’t break with every update with, in theory, allows the devs to add new content easier.

Any OGs out there who has been playing since the very first carnivores game on PC. I remember my uncles and me playing that alot. Carnivores,Croc,AVP and star trek best and my first PC games.😃😎
I really hope they do more with this game than just rerelease it with some fixes. Some new dinosaurs, weapons, maps or mechanics would be great

It would be good to have something other than a reboot of a reboot of a reboot.

I remembered seeing the title image and thought it was a survival game like The Forest but with Dinosaurs just to see the Carnivores logo and got excited thinking it's a new entry...just to be disappointed to find out it's a lesser port of the Reborn with is a release of HD on PS3.

Waiting for the Steam port, and some opinion well, i hopefully this game can be pulish in deep, so if the game is good and receives the necessary attention from the developer studio and the players we can even have a new game for Carnivores
Carnivores Dinosaur Hunt should have a modding community like previous Carnivores games, a good example would be Fallout 4, it has its own modding community on PC, PlayStation and Xbox. Carnivores Dinosaur Hunt should follow suite on a modding community for all gaming platform where both new and old Carnivores players can download. May there be DLC so I can relive my childhood dream PLEASE. Also I'm playing on a Xbox One S.
The exciting part for me is that it's been basically confirmed that the game will get DLC and added content if it does well.

Thanks for the review. With the non-lethal bullet system and not being able to delete trophies and having to collect everything you kill to get points also no points for non-licensed dinosaurs seems like the negatives outweigh the pros. I've been playing since the beginning but I think I'm going to pass on this one and stick to the classics!

Quite a few! I’ve gotten several PS4 trophies and am only about 50% of the way there
I will say, on Xbox at least, I have encountered a bug (or maybe intentional feature?-) that causes me to get absolutely trapped in Delphaeus hills. It's a spot with trees and rocks and a little space just big enough to hold the hunter in the center, and if you decide to fill that gap, you can't get out. Your feet don't truly touch the ground so you can't Sprint, jump, run, or anything; all you can do is look around. And you can't evacuate, as you can't meet with the air ship.
Also on Xbox, I've been able to get Ceratsaurus and the T.Rex to get stuck in a circle around me.
Other than that, I'm glad I get to play Carnivores in somewhat relavency. Playing the same old mods gets boring after a bit, the mobile ports are a pain to play, and Reborn and HD exist I suppose. But I'd love to see this game get the attention and care it finally deserves after so long :)
I've heard that the reason the game is very stripped down right now is because this stuff is going to be added in future patches.
I hope one day they wise up and do a proper re-release of the OGs they have on mobile. Retro-styled games are in these days, it’d sell.
