Pointing out errors, showing off and identifying smaller niche cards properly, showing appreciation towards goated illustrators? Quite literally BEING IN JAPAN to film it all? This video’s amazing man, can’t give you enough kudos for the details, editing, and effort.
Wow I had no idea there was an error base set japanese charizard with the details from Machamp! Now I need to go look over the charizards i've sent to PSA and see if I inadvertently had any errors
It actually predates the first Japanese zard, the Kairiki zard is often seen in the same way as the English Shadowless First Edition Zard, as it lacks a rarity symbol, further boosting it's rarity.
The production value behind these videos is amazing. Followed your route all the way through Nippombashi, Osaka. The Google Map links really helped out. Thank you, and keep 'em coming, JLUV!
Hey JLUV, Thanks so much for another great and REAL video. We share a love for vintage cards and it's so refreshing to see someone on TH-cam who cares about the actual cards. I'm going to Nagoya in a few months and was hoping to get some advice. At Clove Base, what is a polite way to ask in Japanese if I may see their vintage bulk? I'm about a N5-N4 level. Also, if I'm shopping for awhile and want to see multiple cards, is it impolite to ask them repeatedly to open the display cases? Thanks so much!
hey daisuki, thanks so much for helping support the channel! really appreciate it. awesome to find more collectors vibing off the older overlooked cards :) your best bet is a simple phrase; すみませんですけどバルクカードがありますか?you can interchange バルクカード with any other terms specific to what you're looking for; 旧裏 for old backs, or ADV/DPPt/BW for specific gens. your mileage may very depending on the store but i'm sure with at least N4 knowledge like you've got, you should be able to make it work - at worst, you can rely on Google Translate! as for looking through multiple cabinets, not at all - just try to batch your cabinet search. so when you're ready to look at all the cards in one specific cabinet, do it all at once instead of 1 by 1. saves everybody time. hope that helps, just reach out if you need any more help, and have fun!

seeing that dream league promo price hits even more since i bought a box of dream league when it come out from the pokemon centre and didnt get it 😭😭 will have to fork over the money for it when i visit japan next week. Awesome video, your card shop videos have been really helpful for my brother and i to work out where to go in japan, and the work you put into them is awesome :D
It's so interesting how the experience varies so much depending on the time and what you're looking for, for me the best shop was Bee, with a huge collection of non-holo VS cards and very cheap price (mostly due to condition, but i'm fine with it). The most crazy thing was that they asked me if I wanted to negociate, and offered me a 15% discount on the whole order, which was unheard of in Japan for me 😳
Huge fan of your card stores videos mate, really appreciate the hard work especially for including the store names and address. Can't wait to check these stores out next April when I'm in Nagoya! Cheers
Thanks so much for videos like these. My fiancé and I just visited Japan and used your videos as references of stores to check out in Tokyo and Osaka. Thank you 🙏

they will return! the biggest hurdle these days is just time, i'm still largely editing on my own (i have some help these days with Blendy), but haven't really reached a full time commitment to YT - so it's just about fitting everything in. though i do want to get back into that series very soon!!
its so funny i remember picking up the southern islands postcard collection with togepi for legit 50 cents in like 2008, i miss that card shop they just had a huge bucket of stuff that was all 50 cents and another bucket for stuff that was 5 bucks it was such a magical place to go as a kid
