Well, while we're all debating who Laboto's child is, I'm just sat here thinking 'I can't believe the entirety of Raz's story happened in at least a week. ONE WEEK!'. One day at camp apparently, Immediately off to the Ruin, then 3 days later off to the Motherlobe, and then ending on maybe Day 4/5 after the ending fight. Poor kid's gonna need a lot of sleep XD Get that mental energy back up. This was well worth 50 quid and I'd happily wait another half my life for a sequel. (I'm 30 currently, so...)
People are saying that Augustus is too forgiving but I'd say it seems right, with a world with psychics in mental health and compassion and empathy would be WAY up there since they could understand the human mind more in depth than we ever could
Well people who are saying Augustus's words are too forgiving are right, but it makes perfect sense for Augustus to be saying that given the context of the personal anger and grief he might be experiencing against and for Nona in that moment, and he literally didn't have as much bandwidth for all the other victims and their families in that moment. I'd argue that a psychic with a lot of compassion and empathy that's a bit less emotionally compromised would understand perfectly why empathy for Maligula shouldn't overshadow empathy for all the poor families and dead protestors, some of whom might still not have gotten much closure on exactly what happened to their country. Augustus isn't wrong to feel what he feels though. My personal take is that when he says she's the one who suffered the most, it's specifically in the context of his own trauma and him figuring things out and realizing that as much as what he's personally gone through, she's gone through worse. In between the two of them. It's obviously not a competition, but his thought process is very understandable and relatable. His words shouldn't be taken with the context of everything Maligula's done in regards of other people as well though. Again, it's specifically about how he personally feels about what was directly done to his mom and his family.
I think it helps he was told or understands the greater context of everything that happened. Ford ironically in giving them false memories and such also more or less saved their family ironically. While the beginning part is fake, the memories made afterward were still real.
I say that it’s in-character with Augustus. Not sure if I’d describe his thoughts as “forgiving,” moreso contemplative. Combined with some direct understanding of the mind as well as his strong potential as a psychic, his capability may just make it easier for him to keep temper while processing complex situations. Like Nona, he was the biggest vocal presence against the talk of Psychics. In the end (of Psychonauts the first), he became supportive of his son once considering Raz’s feelings and implications of the monstrous Augustus. Although he believed in the curse, and probably still did before Psychonauts 2’s end, he became more outwardly open about the topic of psychics - even among family. Then, when waiting in the Questionable Camp Grounds, no less than a couple days after turning his opinions on Psychics, he begins to try to hone his potential and powers, partially and possibly in an effort towards become closer to Raz trying to find ways to better relate and support him. Psychic or not, I would say that empathy and contemplation are fundamental facets to Augustus, likely independent of his Psychic capability. He seems to take internal conflict well, has excellent recognition of why someone is hurting, and generally doesn’t want to wish ill on anyone, even less his own family.
I like using clairvoyance on the REAL truman. If you do, he sees you as a handsome courtier! As in, he's happy Raz is interested in his daughter! He approves of the littlest Psychonaut!
I wish the interns were more involved in the games story. Like an intern would join you for a certain person's mind. Like how Lilli was helping Raz navigate through Nick's brain. Dogen's Grandfather was Lizzie's mentor so it would have been awesome if she helped fix his brain.
Agreed. Doing side quests for them is fine but all we get is them helping a bit when breaking into the casino and dialogue inside Holis mind making them forgettable once you start the Ford quests.
Especially for Norma. Her biggest contribution to this story was being an arrogant brat caused things to get worse. Then when she gets the badge she complains about being a "Junior" Agent. Like girl count your blessings that you didn't cause Maligula to sink the Motherlobe.

I love that the moment you talk about camp Lili is trying to stop Raz because she thinks he'll mention the kissing and Truman views Raz as that typical boy coming to pick your daughter up for a date stereotype.
He knows, or at least suspects. I made a point of checking every character with clairvoyance after beating the game, and in Truman's case he sees Raz as dressed up for a school dance. Complete with badly fitting suit and damaged flowers. I don't know what Lili told him, but he sure has a good idea what's going on there, lol.
This game was so much fun and such a breath of fresh air the fact that it only took me 31 hours to beat it 100% and how I know I'll be in my 40s by the time they make a psychonauts 3.... Damn you double fine lol
This game makes me so happy. Every single moment of playing it brings Joy one way or another. Especially here at the end, it makes my heart hurt seeing crulller and Nona together and happy. When I played the original, I never thought that cruller would get a happy ending

We kind of did do a psychopath. Maligula was the inner embodiment of a psychopath. Psychopathy is the final boss, or more just antisocial behavior, lack or empathy, or violent criminal behavior. As for a cult follower, Nick Johnsmith's mind was kind of a someone who became a cult follower of Maligula, but his motivations are more due to extreme radicalization because of some heavy trauma.
It makes me wonder if there are other extremely powerful users of other psychic powers in the psychonauts universe that other countries use in their military.

To think, the past games in old model consoles which gave us so many questions, their sequels in the new ones would give us the biggest plot-twisting answers. E.g. Ratchet & Clank for the Lombaxes and Zonies, Jak and Daxter of their birth time, Destroy All Humans of ancient Furon powers like stopping time, etc.
I hope they make a new psyconuat 3 because we may be able to see more of the world and we can maybe go back to the camp to find out who laboto. Kid is I like to see if raz. gets to team up with him or her and I think it so sweet that Ford and Lucy are making it work that means raz. may get a legend for a grandpa / uncle. There was so much potential there for the Aquatos to either coo and tease Raz over the fact that he had a girlfriend or go full over protective family on her and make sure she was good enough for their little Pootie.

I honestly wouldn't upset with Augustus if he was mad with Ford. No matter how much he's cried about it Ford himself acknowledged it was screwed up what he did. Instant forgiveness and redemptions always felt shallow and overly flowery.
Probably most out their but obviously theory Elton is lobotos son mainly due to his hydrophobia, and the sailor hat he wears around the camp. Plus in rombus of ruin it can be taken from lobotos background that at some point he was a sailor.
I just finished the game and like most comment, my only reaction is "so when's Psychonauts 3", THe characters have nothing too special but I just want to interact more and have fun with them more, go on mission with the intern , Sasha and Milla, all of them.
Caught me as well, I guess it continues as normal post campaign. Makes me wonder if her voice lines change depending on your games post campaign experience.

After beating the game if you go in water instead of being dragged doing then water will hold you, and help you up, you don’t even take a chunk of damage when you respawn which i think is an awesome detail

Raz and Lilly didnt get a single kiss in this game. Thats my only issue with the story 😂 Aside from that, its phenomenal!

I just finished the game and like most comment, my only reaction is "so when's Psychonauts 3",
THe characters have nothing too special but I just want to interact more and have fun with them more, go on mission with the intern , Sasha and Milla, all of them.
That mushroom request is a bit weird considering during the story it was supposed to be something for her dad.

Loboto could be Bisexual or something that doesn't restrict his choice in partners for a kid. We do have a confirmed gay couple in Psychonauts 2.
Either Loboto is bisexual, or if he IS gay, some gay people have female partners out of curiosity or to feel more accepted

You know what would be a cool mechanic in the post game would be allowing you to go in the water.
After beating the game if you go in water instead of being dragged doing then water will hold you, and help you up, you don’t even take a chunk of damage when you respawn which i think is an awesome detail

Yeah, it’s not much, he’s in the hamster-ball thing with Bob near Truman’s office, and they basically just say they’re going find his body. It wasn’t a long conversation with tons of choices like some of the others.
