- Hi Everyone, we are back again with another one this time from Formula Drift Road Atlanta. Our second time behind the wheel of our new 2024 Autozone Ford Mustang RTR Spec 5 FD we push it all the way to the top 8 battling Chris Forsberg.

I was pumped to see Deane join RTR! I still don’t completely understand LZ and Vaughn splitting the season and not competing for the championship. It seems to prevent other drivers from getting the points. But the RTR guys are my dudes! I feel like Chelsea gets the hated on by the judges… but he does often go too hard and it bites him

@@Gooochmo You're looking WAY too deep into that, Vaughn still has some pending races and events in the off road world and can't commit to a full FD season and LZ wants to focus on other things regarding his own brand with the LZ world tour and some events that interfere with FD but he doesn't want to completely leave, it was a mutual agreement between LZ and Vaughn and it works out pretty good for them, there is 0 bad intentions as some people like you think.
You have balls of steel. Nobody else displayed the courage you did in that first entry. What a beautiful sight. Love it. Love these behind the scenes vids. Quality content and great editing.
Honestly think you should have won that battle with Forsburg.

I think the judges are scared of OMT, there so many battles where it should have went OMT
he even explains how he lost lol tbh i felt his battle with freddy should of been a omt

@@Skreamies Well apparently not seeing as James Deane won 3 consecutive championships here on American soil. Honestly James, imo, should've OMT Freddy, but watching the Forsberg battle a few times I see why they gave it to Forsberg. He was more consistent.
The team talks are my favourite part of these videos. seeing how chill the team is just seems like the best vibes to be around in a competition setting. Congrats to the team.. honestly the rtr team is the reason I love the look of a mustang in drift
To have a massive initiation like you did and as much angle throughout the course in qualifying for the Judges to give an xfactor score of 4.6 is criminal
FD judges and the judging system is a joke
He said himself that he pushed a bit too hard on initiation and went wide on the first inside clip, if he pulled it off it would've been a good X-factor score.
@@joealex65 but in drifting throwing backies is an appraisable thing to do im DMEC they don't dock point and have shitty judges not only that Diego Higa got way more points than he should have just because the YT chat was full of Brazilians lol

If we're talking strictly about drift competitions, his achievements deem him to be the best in the world (Formula Drift Champion 3x in a row, FIA Champion of the world, Multiple DMEC Championships) and many more wins in the Irish drifting scene driving against people like Duane Mckeever and the shanahaan's. I agree he hasn't been "invincible" for the past couple of years, but he's for damn sure the best skilled competition drifter in the world; His accolades speak for them self. In my opinion if he's on a different tire in DMEC he would absolutely be back in form.
In my opinion it's either him or Piotr Wiecek sitting at the top right now, so calling him a top 5 drifter isn't entirely accurate.
He's in the Top 3 best in the world hands down
@@Tafa_Edits I couldn't even put it into words better than you have there mate exactly what I mean I think. Piotr right now it's probably the best drift in the world. Your so right about what you said about James has achieved so much but recently I feel like James is just gone downhill I don't know why but there's so many factors going into it. we can't really judge him from FD rn but driftmasters he's been lacking for the last few years I don't know why but it's mainly because grip.
@@livinglifesideways4827 James is a loyal person, and he wouldn't trade the years Falken supported him on every continent for a tire that might give him more victories. To keep up with the Valino's and other grippy tires, he is making his car more difficult to drive. Which actually make him more impressive! It takes a lot of skill to be that good and compete with everyone else while using an old tire.
I can only imagine how difficult it is to adapt to a completely different platform in world class competition and still go rounds. G.O.A.T.

An honest man and a hell of a strong competitor that shakes anybody that stands next to him.
I just wished that others drivers could put as a good lead as he does, so he can shine on his follows.
He should admit he lost to Aasbo, and that the judges gifted him the win. I still love Deane and think he's a fantastic driver, but that call left a really bad taste in my mouth.

I suspect Chris Forsburg intentionally goes slower on his lead runs to disadvantage the chase driver. I suspect I've seen him do it many times. If I were a judge, it would have been a OMT with Forsburg. The throttle/brake lights at the front of the car say it all. James is obviously on throttle far more than Chris. Brilliant driving James!

I was there for fd road Atlanta for my first fd event in person. Its so surreal seeing the track, cars, and drivers in person. Everything felt so much larger compared to videos and video games. I loved this event and i am 100% going again next year.

Great driving man, few driver's cutting the track and gaining a advantage but to be fair the judge's was spot on every time.

You are a legend my guy! I could hear it in your voice that you feel like you are at a disadvantage due to having to learn the vehicle while in comp but you have to give yourself credit for the feat you’re taking on… competing with a 1of1, new chassis, that you’ve never driven, and you’re still having your opponents shaking in their boots. Keep your head up king - you’ll get in a groove and it’s history from there🤙🏽🫡🔥
I love watching you drive. Just an amazing skill set and I hope that you add more championships to your trophy case here in the US and over at DM EU.
