I have watched alot of these videos from this event. Your's has been the most informative. Anyone who says the machine is perfect and there is nothing bad about it, loses credit to me. Nothing is perfect. So if can-am is listening we need more people and videos like this from your events.
Good eye! I did have a flat at the end of the first day of riding. I stepped out the back end around a corner and hit a rock with the sidewall. There was about 10-12 flats on our 2-day ride, spread between about 12 machines.
40-45K for what is trophy truck performance. It's actually pretty good. Only other things out there would be a Raptor or TRX. How much do those cost? 77-109K.
I suppose it's neat that Canam is making this halo vehicle and, eventually, in principle, new tech trickles down to cheaper models. My concerns is what this model's price point may do to the expected sale price of the rest of the sxs segment. The problem isn't that some people have the $ to pay this price, but whether the existence of this machine will shift all the others higher, like it did with pickup trucks. Where are those $28k stripped-down base-model half-ton trucks now? Most start well into the CA$40k range now, with a ton of "standard" features that were options not too long ago. Truck prices are averaging closer to CA$60k, and easily get up around CA$100k out the door. Also, no airbags?
hihi.....i think i musst that you change channel ? anyway, wonderful lisstent to you again and hearing your allways enthusiastic and positive commets in a very high professional matter !! hope you stay a bit strong in to the sxs...more exhiting things will come now for sure...
I don't really like that cylinder cutting on and off to me it seems like you would lose power somewhere even though it comes right back on would it be just as fast if you had the three valves or the three cylinders to stay on all the time
You’d be wrong. The middle cylinder is an air pump that gets the turbo spooled up for less turbo lag. It’s there for a reason. Let the engineers do what they do best.
Of all the Sport SXS's with paddle shifters, NONE of them move with the steering wheel. They don't need to. They are wide enough, that you aren't missing them even if you want to shift while turning.
@UTVActionMagazine when you drive it on roads like you did of course you don't need them but when you dive into corners with your hands 12 to 6 and go to grab the shifter out of the corner good luck finding it and btw I never said the other ones did have it but they should because I've driven a talon and had the problem I just mentioned. Cars have it so why shouldn't off road vehicles have it that requires more steering than car racing which I've done aswell. 🤷♂️
I've seen a lot of reviews on this new can am but I haven't seen it actually go app against the rock star of the old cannon that would be nice to see compete together with equal drivers and see how you do then but I do like the new can am and I do own Maverick X3 DSR R Arizona demon full speed I get like 98 miles an hour
It's funny - I was going to say no transmission intake. Still, the spare belt cavity is gone. Bombardier had to buy back the lead-acid urban commuters from their Quebec customers.
First time i see YXZ winner...(i only care if you can legally drive fast as law says in Finland, and not sure is it possible to YXZ, Got 350 raptor wich can) If those contidions are met and i win at lottory i buy one with scoop and drive even on winter time!
The Pro R has zero new technology. All they did was move the front shocks to the lower arm, beef up the current motor platform with an extra cylinder and beef up some of the parts. Fit and finish is still pretty much the same as my old turbo s. Don’t get me wrong I luv my pro r but nothing game changing.
@@wildwest6771the pro r was a huge game changer when it first came out. I own 2 pro Rs. They didn't go turbo so the power was instant unlike having to shut down a cylinder to get rid of turbo lag and it still has turbo lag, then the sport rock and race mods was huge, ride command will always be the best, first to offer bolt on accessories from the factory that worked along side with rigid, assault, pro armor and rockford fosgate, first to offer massive a arms and trailing arms, first to offer 3.0 shocks in the rear, much better cooling and a bullet proof 4 cylinder DOHC engine, almost double the travel numbers of anything before it. So to say it wasn't a game changer is laughable. New frame, bigger cage, 5 lug, bigger brakes I can keep going.... have you seen a pro r next to a pro xp!? I've compared them next to each other and everything is double the size. You have to be joking when you said they just did acouple things that's it lmao wow. You own a pro r!? Thats likes me saying the maverick r is just alil better than the x3 they did some things better lmao
@@wildwest6771about the thing you said about no new technology I don't want no more crap in my car I'm good. If its not broke dont fix it. He mentions your "technology" at 13:20 and I don't want a DCT in my car and speaking of DCT they didn't make the paddle shifters move with the steering wheel. Fully loaded....$90 THOUSAND DOLLARS ?????...are they insane???...I thought $50-$55k bad enough but $90k is freaking nuts...could I buy one yes but would I pay that kind of coin for a SxS ??...NO WAY!!!!
To be clear, that was a top-end machine combined with literally every accessory in the catalogue in Canadian dollars, and that is tax included. So a very extreme case, but still a story I had related to me.
They took the control arms from the automotive world. My wife’s x5 has similar setup the ball joints line up and the clearance between the tire and ball joint location is similar. Nothing new just new to the sxs world.
the shock sensors should sense that and react before bottoming on huge hits. That's quite literally it's purpose. Hundreds of datapoints per second being calculated for shock adjustement. Can am would have included it if it was actually useful I think.
@bikinboyz95 I have one on my pro r. I use it all the time . It can't predict when I'm about to slam in the face of a dune . Or a sudden wash out . Thoes are the senerios I use it the most .
Anybody can make any car faster after the fact.. How good is the car right off the factory floor bone stock. Sorry but CanAm is now king right now and I don’t even like CanAm.
@@wildwest6771 true. So what your saying is can am made their car after the fact lol. Polaris build a naturally aspirated motor that kills the can am. RIGHT FROM THE FACTORY BONE 🦴 STOCK …..And now can am had to add more power and suspension to be better than Polaris. I get it 😂 your statement proves what you said. Oooh and no need to be sorry. Lol. I don’t care 🤷♂️ I wouldn’t spend that kinda money on either of them. Both are completely awesome…. I just can’t afford one 😂
Headed to the dunes in a couple weeks. There'll be 50,000 people there. WAY MORE dune riders than you think. We don't go to little 90 acre off road parks.

Great comprehensive review. Thank you
The seat can be tilted forward or backwards 5° from the stock position.
Thanks for such a great informative review.
Glad it was helpful!
Did you blow out a tire on the back left? Looks like the machine is dirty but the left rear is clean as can be

Also new king of price
They priced the car down so they can price you up with accessories with their accessory packages and you fell for it thinking like that lol smh
Negative, Polaris still holds that with the Troy Lee design Pro R

Can you put it in sport-plus but leave the three valves working all the time are the three cylinders working all the time
How is driving this better or worse than driving a RZR turbo?
After going down the gas line by my cabin I would put my pro r up against it. It was smooth as glass and no short of power.
Just got one 👍🏼👍🏼
That was sick
I got some custom logos done that say BURP instead of BRP... Same style and everything.

when you look at sxs's from 10+ years ago you realize why the price increase is justifiable.

How will Polaris answer
They've had a patented automated sequential in the works for years
A good engine, clutch and exhaust tune in a Rzr Pro R will do. The weight to hp ratio on the Maverick R is not very good. IMO
I don't really like that cylinder cutting on and off to me it seems like you would lose power somewhere even though it comes right back on would it be just as fast if you had the three valves or the three cylinders to stay on all the time
Not in terms of get up speed.
You don’t understand how anti lag works then. Google it to learn more about how it keeps larger turbos spooled on rally cars
You’d be wrong. The middle cylinder is an air pump that gets the turbo spooled up for less turbo lag. It’s there for a reason. Let the engineers do what they do best.
You can turn that feature off if you want.
Can't believe the paddle shifters don't turn with the steering wheel that's a huge fail on can ams part.

Who throws or needs every single accessory possible?? You can get a decently equipped rig for 50k easy.
I have a feeling someone will make an aftermarket knuckle that can fit bigger tires or a knuckle that is actually adjustable.
I m from quebec city, and one of my friend told me this too, about the guy who order one with all the accessory for 92k
