putting the newly mastic vent on a dirty surface full of sawdust and debris, when he lifted it up you could see all of the debris on the mastic. Very shotty work. Stuff like this is what leads to leaks and other problems and should not be seen on any job. The guys that do this work don't understand the importance of following the proper installation and cleanliness steps. Low bid company, no doubt.
I have common sense so i would have blown off my sawdust without all the "professionals" in the comments anyway. When you are working and teaching at once its easier for a mistake to slip to and be caught by the haters behind keyboards. This video was the closest to the content I was looking for so thanks for taking the time to share Eric! If anybody wants to talk shit, provide a useful link to your channel on the better way to do it first. But then you would pretty much copy their video and add the useless information wasting my time teaching me to clean after myself using a blower..
Absolute shame of a project. Im not sure if the worker doesnt understand the importance of a clean substrate (the roof in this case) and how the mastic will seal better with a clean roof. I know the vent will get positioned in a way that the tiles will make the water run off, but still this is disgraceful to see this kind of work.
What a joke, and poor craftsmanship. So many small mistakes, lack of detail, laziness are going to cost this homeowner dearly in the near future. He is either not an experienced roofer, or just lazy.

I didn't see all the debris until you mentioned it and he's standing by his blower which is the real joke takes 10 seconds to blow away all the debris

I have never seen roof tile were it doesn't overlap side ways and up and down that is some WTF is going on there.
That lip is there for a reason to lock the tile in sideways.
Yes correct it is tucked under the tile on the side. S TILES
Good video. Wonder what type tile used?
Concrete "S" tile.
That vent ofcourse will leak .
HOLA AMIGO, SE ME PRESENTO UN TRABAJO IGUAL, AYUDAME CON EL PRECIO , CUANTO PODRE COBRAR???
The base flashing now comes with a diverter. To make the water run to the sides. Just FYI. 😉
Pura cochinada de trabajo
y los ganchos?
No saves nada de roof tile
No traen nadaaaaa

Eric--- Remove your video. Self incrimination. Ridge vents; not in the slope.
