Yeah it's seriously addictive. I remember seeing the arcade machine for the first time, it was on it's own in a café my mum used to take me while she was working across the road while I was on school holidays, 10p a go, I was about 10yrs old.
This is the game that you have hold your controller or arcade stick 45 degree angle clockwise as long as you set up the controls when you first boot the game... PS, 2D graphics are nostalgic.
I'd still love to see a new Q*Bert game made with today's graphics and engines, and yesteryear's ideas. All the unused concepts from the trailer: An airborn level composed entirely of bird-like platforms? Actual underwater scenes? A deteriorating sandcastle of platforms you can only step on a limited number of times? Whatever that big swirly thing was? I can see those forming a truly outstanding product, especially in today's market.
Hey, thanks. Nice video. To answer your question, it seems to take a blend of the two versions, but mostly sticks with the DC variation. It has the menu GUI of the DC version, as well as the modes. The sound design might be slightly from the PS1 version, but as far as I can tell (and remember), the PC port is fairly similar to the DC version.
KitsuneGaming97 try Amazon. that is where I found a copy for my play station 2 . they also have copies for pcs. my ps1 q *bert disk plays perfectly on and I love it
In Part 2 of my Q*Bert LP, I open with a side-by-side comparison of sorts. However, to answer your question directly, these graphics are certainly better as in showing more general effort, but I'd say to the point of distraction. Dreamcast is straight-up 3D-ifying the original game. From what I can tell, the adventure modes are identical. So both games are relatively comperable. I guess I like DC better because I grew up with it. I didn't even realize there was a PC version. How does it compare?
The one "Q'Bert" cartoon episode I never got to see on TH-cam is called "Q'Ball's Rigamorale." This is where Q'Ball unexpectedly becomes Dr. Frankenstein's monster. COILY is being used as a push broom in the end of this episode. 👻 👽 🤖 👾 👻
The commercial / trailer actually look pre-rendered. CGI, if you will. So pretty much, yeah. Also in that trailer there were so many unused elements... I wonder why?
How were the graphics on the Dreamcast version? Do you think the DC version has any advantages over the PS1 version? I only have the PC version, but it won't run on modern PCs.
Oh God... Coming from the Dreamcast version of this game, I'm not sure whether to say this is amazing or terrible. On one hand, you're given the option to choose total 2D or total 3D. The game wholistically looks animated better/more and has more going for it. Music and the opening are also better quality. On the other, the 3D seems forced and contrived in comparison. And the overuse of zoom and such is sort of dizzying when compared with the Dreamcast version.
lol Qbert!, brings back memories of my child hood.. BUT I FUCKING HATE THIS GAME!!!! lol i hated playing this shit, i had nothing else to play so id put this in when i was bored of another game
its nice that the arcade version is there but Q*bert for the original game boy was leagues ahead of this. also on a somewhat related note, wreck it ralph is ass
2D73D???if the game isometric perspective, 3D dont util, 3D is poor resolucion in comparation 2D and not diferences In spanish: Si el juego esta en perspectiva isometrica es una tontería realizar una versión en 3D que lo único que cambia es el personaje y encima lo hace con una resolución mas pobre...

A PS exclusive character has not good relationships with this name...
The amount of aliasing is freaking me out
lol.

Heh, teenage noob. Q*Bert is a classic and for good reason, though seeing it came out long before you were ever born you wouldn't understand.
haha, i guess i wouldn't.
BRUH
lol Qbert!, brings back memories of my child hood.. BUT I FUCKING HATE THIS GAME!!!!

3D mode is unnecessary as the classic 2D mode is perfect as is.
Agreed but I guess they just fancied doing it for a 32bit machine.
its nice that the arcade version is there but Q*bert for the original game boy was leagues ahead of this. also on a somewhat related note, wreck it ralph is ass
This was way better on Atari.... the original Q
That’s not the original.
This game was boring and confusing when I played it as kid ….
Classic game.
Do you use composite or rgb cable when you recorded this with the Playstation 1? Cheers!
RGB Scart lead.
Ok. Do you use dvd player? If so, whats the brand/model?
Sony RDR-HXD710
Do you recommened Hxd710 over the hxd870 or Hxd910?

*J-Bird ripoff*
Didn't J-bird come out a year after Q*Bert?!,...yep it did (J-Bird 1983, Q*Bert 1982), so don't you mean J-Bird is a Q*Bert rip-off?!
Zeusdaz - The Unemulated Retro Game Channel
*Not sure about it, on several websites it displays that J-Bird came earlier.*
are you serious
